Translations DO have errors and discrepancies, the deeper you dig in, the more you'll find, but as I said and as you've admitted, whatever bible version is, as long as it puts you on the right track towards God, it has enough power to accomplish God's purpose, even if it just puts you in square one, and a good translation may give you a head start compared to a bad one. God will send good teachers and use available sources in your life to guide you along the way, as He sent Phillip to guide the Ethiopian Eunuch, the first Christian convert - “Do you understand what you read?” "How can I, unless someone guides me?" I like going to sleep at night and dreaming about The Word of GOD and getting up in the morning and saying by prayers and having no where to go. Even on a Sunday Morning. But mediating on My LORD, I have had 6 grown children and the oldest is dead, and all of them are on their own. I have see the many corruptions of "The Pentecostal's churches and leaders" The Southern Baptist churches" the Methodist Churches and their leaders" "The Orthodox Baptists" , "The National Baptists" "The Progressive National Baptist Conventional " "The Church of God and Christ Churches", and the leaderships, "The Word of Faith Churches" The 7th Day Adventist, I know them all 1st. hand and not word of Mouth! I been here up front for almost 50 years! I see the crumbling and saw the fall coming before it happen. I studied translations; when is was only, about 4 translations and only one "Paraphrase". page by page. I am not a jack leg bible student, Who was taught by a church! and a Sunday school or Wednesday night bible teacher. and I hardly went to one of those classes to be trained by a want to be, . because they paid a tithe, that is a lie! Pay to play, pay to teach and pay to preach and to sit in the chief seats in the Churches and be called "pastor" and Minster MaryANN". I been here a long time. have done revival services Preached all week long the Bible verbatim and word for WORD and not my input. Or how I think. Because I knew know better and didn't know any better.
And now I am done, for A young man is for war and the old man is for counsel , because he, the old man, have been in many "Spiritual Battles and Spiritual Wars, and been Spiritual Wounded and recovered many times and made many "Spiritual Mistakes", He has the "Spiritual War Wounds" and " Spiritual Scars" and "The limp" to prove it. His wounds have come from Demons and Devils! Th real ones! even self inflicted cuts and Wounds from The Double Edge Sword He was swinging!! because it was sharp and many times He had to Grab The Blade instead of The Handle because the fightings were fierce!
Oh I had some brothers in Christ we used to talk about those battles and laugh, about how painful it was! and we still could laugh about it!
