Testing The Spirit

I have not proclaimed anything were I boast about knowing something, so I wonder what your reply was really about, did you disagree with what I said about that Jesus did not die spiritually, and that Jesus did not have a bag full of money, and stuff ?

When a person says that I am so much above the next person, then you've just become a fool. I have seen great wisdom from children.
Were did you see that I my statements ?

Because the op wanted to know more anout things via testing the spirits, and I was trying to give help to him in seeing things, which if he already sees these things than great.

I told him to learn God well, and the gosoel well, why because that helps with discernment, and I said it, just in case, because I do not know him.

If it was clear that I was boasting, and you clearly show me, then I would say sorry.

I know many times people form strong thoughts in their minds, which I have seen time and time again, and Christians, pastors and so on criticising each other, over this or that claim, instead of getting to know each other.

Criticizing like this is so easy to do.

And bible wise, you can never know enough, for it is never ending, and whether someone is on the meat which is not wrong or on the milk, how much do we really know the bible, maybe the best of us, maybe 5% or maybe less ? ? ?

A little odd of a reply, but however you see things, you do I guess.

None of us have attained, and some have grown to the meat and some have not, and to whatever degree that I have , I have , and to what ever degree that I have not, I have not.

I am not boasting about anything here, just showing what I have seen via preaching another Jesus.

And a proclamation in and of itself is not wrong, Paul said he was an Apostle, and of course he knew he was, but that was not boastful.

And no I am not saying I am an apostle because I know I am not.

Now how much have I learnt, I do not know, only God knows, and I am not boasting at all about any of that, nor will I, to whatever that may be.

And I do not follow your reasoning, because if someone were to say to me, well I am a preacher, I would not judge right away, and say, well if they say they are they are not, that would be a foolish judgment.

You have to get to know people at times, before making a judgment.

There is nothing wrong in sharing things about discernment, since that is the subject.
May Jesus fill us with his love and wisdom

My friend, my words are not directed to you in the sense of talking about boasting.

Quite often I go off on a tangent that is not directed at the person who I first replied to, maybe a bad habit of mine.

In this case I was talking about people in general who would say "I'm a meat eater" . The problem with that is that that level of understanding you and I have now is nothing compared to the level of understanding that we will have 10 years from now. And then again another 10 years later, if we're still alive, lol.

What I'm trying to say is that no one should boast about being a meat eater, or even being able to eat anything you want. You shouldn't boast at all in that regard. But to be humble, always be humble before our Lord

My friend, I do not think of you this way. I was not directing this comment towards you but towards people in general. Towards those who do boast of their status

Ok thanks for clarification, I just seemed that way, because of what I said before hand, maybe I should of asked you privately what you meant, so that I say things right, within the post.

No the fault is mine, I need to separate the thoughts more. When I'm replying directly to you to do that and then when I'm making a statement regarding everyone else. I will have to work on that

I'm not sure it's that simple, @B-A-C. The Mormons profess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. As do the major branches of the Catholic Church, and most all Protestant denominations. The epistle of 1st John was most likely written to confront the Gnostic Christians who said that Jesus only appeared to have flesh since the physical world (and flesh) was too corrupt for someone as "holy" as Jesus.

Maybe passages on the gift of discernment?

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
(1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV)

The true Biblical Jesus though would be the One who was God in human flesh

Can anyone help me with testing the spirit? I’d like some help understanding this according to the Bible. If it’s Bible I want it but if it’s not the Word Of God I don’t need it. Also back it up with cross reference scripture and examples ?
Are you referring to testing the doctrines of a pastor or a teacher?

Why don't you tell us what it is that bothers you and we will go from there

1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2. Hereby we know ye the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. 3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spiriit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that is should come and even now already it is in the world.

What it means to test the spirits is this: it means if something is said and we question it, then we are to go to the word of God( The Holy Bible) and look to see if what was said matches up with what God says in His word, if it doesn't then it's not of God but if it does match up with what God says in His word then it is of God. I've heard many preachers say " don't take my word for it, look it up for yourself" That is what I urge anyone to do... when listening to anyone who is teaching and preaching the word of God go and look up in the Bible what God says and in this way you can know for sure if what was said was or was not of God.
