The good, the bad, and the ugly

It seems like there is something I agree with on just everyone here on one subject or another. ..and it seems like there is something I disagree with almost everyone on another subject or another.
We don't always have to agree on everything.

It seems there are people who make it their goal in life to point out what is wrong with people. I you look on YouTube, you can find hundreds of videos (often by the same people) who are pointing
out this false prophet, or that false teaching, and that's OK up to a point. But I'm not sure about making it my soul purpose in life to go around finding fault with other people.

Paul confronted Peter about only eating with the Jews. Peter denied Jesus three times in one day. Thomas doubted Jesus was really resurrected. Paul said he kept on doing the sins he didn't want to do.
Even the apostles made some mistakes. Practically everyone in the Bible (except Jesus) committed at least some sin (a few people are called blameless and without sin). But that doesn't mean God
didn't use them. Some of them even wrote parts of the Bible.

Just because we disagree with someone of a given subject, does that mean we should discount them entirely? Just because a well known preacher may not agree with us on a given subject, does that mean
everything they believe is wrong?

Don't get me wrong, there are certainly false prophets, bad doctrines, and even bad teaching out there. In some cases I believe some "religions" and false teachers should be called out.
If someone says something unscriptural in your thread, by all means point it out.

But should we troll every message in every thread? Should go looking for trouble and disagreements?
Should we make it our goal to point out the splinter in everyone elses eyes? (We may need to do some serious logging first)

Why are you here on TalkJesus. To grow in love and wisdom with other brothers and sisters. Or to condemn everyone who doesn't believe exactly how you believe in everyway?

There's lots to be said about lots of things Biblical, and it seems lots of those things have been debated and argued back and forth lots of times by lots of people for the better part of two-thousand years. And it continues.

Perfect debates, or perfect arguments on matters Biblical, are only made perfect in the minds of the one's convinced that the position is perfect. While some things are (or we hope are) universally agreed upon by all born again followers of Jesus, we will only know perfectly when we are perfectly glorified with the Lord. Until then, let us continue to sharpen iron with iron, edify one another, and do it all in truth and love. Amen.

It doesnt bother me alot when people disagree with me, as long as they are kind in their reply. Faith is very important to me, and I encourage it in others, for there is far too little of it around, even amoung christians. People like to say they are faithful, but they are so far away from what faith really is. Its trusting God without lots of evidence, even if their faith is a bit mixed up from the "proper way". Its more important to be more proper in your faith, if you are teaching others "the way it is" according to your faith, but not as much, if just wanting to fellowship and chat with others with faith in Christ in general, I am saddened when some "pounce" on them with words like a wolf attacking a rabbit. But some people just dont know how to do so in love. Pouncing is all they know (must be related to Tigger lol).

I totally agree Brad, we must post in love, and we expect the same back, but sometimes things are taken personal, this is a forum issue, a lot of issues wouldn't be issues if we spoke face to face.

Scripture is our bread of life, discussing and sharing is important, but the deeper one goes the more barriers can appear in conversation, we are all at different levels in our journey of faith, but we all still have a lot to learn.

Some of the items we discuss can be controversial, some have denominational influence, some members may be open minded, some may not be, some points of view may not be adequately explained, (sorry), on the other hand some people just don't want to hear or accept or even discuss further, they don't think, enough I will switch this channel off, they stay on like watching a tv program you are not really in to. But, it is still important to discuss the scriptures together 'in love'

Sometimes I think we have to take a different angle in the discussion, but some discussion may take time to get to that point, I have done this on a thread in the last 24 hours. The discussion had a number of different points of view, four different possibilities, so to change tact, I moved from my view and included all four options, views by different people over the years, yes I included which I think was the most likely, the most accurate, but that was just my view, I respect there were four options available for consideration and include all of them for others to consider for themselves.

It is an issue, we will never solve it, but we can post in love. But this has another angle to it as well I think.

Person A, may talk or write a certain way, to person B, this may be acceptable to this person, but to person C it could 'seem' confrontational.

How can we help in the situation? Possibly by including a short messages, posted in love, or similar.

The Almighty is about to do here what some of us in our imperfect wisdom have often wished to see done: we have supposed that if all notoriously bad people could be removed at a stroke from the world the kingdom of heaven would be at once established on the earth. If you were today to destroy all the world, with the single exception of one household, and that household the most pious and honourable that ever lived, in less than half a century we should see all the bad characteristics returning. Water cannot drown sin. Fire cannot burn out sin. Prisons cannot cure theft and cruelty. We must go deeper.

What is wisdom today?

What is the sign for being a genuine Christian in much of America and UK today?

You prayed a prayer for salvation one time!!!

What are you then asked if you doubt your salvation?

Did you pray a prayer one time?

Did you write the day and time in the back of your Bible?

What utter rubbish, the evangelists do that so they can refer to numbers, they do it so you later say, I went to an evangelical meeting, pastor so and so invited us forward to pray a single prayer, he said I was saved so I must be.

Scripture teaches!
'Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith'.

It is not a one time prayer, it is a daily journey of self assessment to scripture, to God's way, God's commands.

When it comes to salvation, the world has missed the boat, yet they think they are sailing into paradise!
