What are your views on Disney?

Good afternoon Bac; I was originally thinking of Roy O, with Roy E being a vague memory listed in some cartoons. Nothing I've read suggests that Roy E was Gay. He was married twice; he divorced his wife of 55 years over irreconcilable differences to marry a woman easily 30 years younger. They collaborated on a sailing documentary titled, Morning Light, the year before Roy passed away.

While Disney theme parks host a Gay Day event, neither endorses the event as it's officially just another business day. Whether Roy E managed to distance himself from articles supporting the event or simply went along with them, I have not found his name ardently supporting Gay Rights. It's true that Disney owned the publishing company which published the above book, and Ellen worked for ABC at the time she "came out of the closet", which was owned by Disney at the time. Based on what I have read in the past hour, I'm beginning to wonder if my original post regarding Michael Eisener is accurate. Either way, Roy E. Disney ceased to have any direct influence as of Dec 16/09. He was the last family member to have any direct influence in the company.

You are right. First if they aren't Christians, we aren't supposed to judge them. (They are already judged).
John 3:18; "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

But if they claim to be Christians, then we should attempt to set them straight.

Like Jesus, Paul leaves judging of unbelievers to God. But he tells us to judge those in the church.

Matt 18:15; "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
Matt 18:16; "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
Matt 18:17; "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
(Gentiles were not allowed in the temple).

Matthew says the same thing, point out the sin of those in the church. (Not every single small sin)
There are certain sins (homosexuality is one of them), even if you yourself don't practice it, but approve of others practicing it, you are still guilty.

Rom 1:26; For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
Rom 1:27; and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Rom 1:32; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only those who practice these things, but even those who give hearty approval to those who practice them.

If we allow sinful life styles to take over the church, it starts small, we ignore it, because it's only one or two people, then more people are OK with doing it, because it's OK for the first group.
Pretty soon the whole church is OK with it. After a while, it's not even a sin anymore.
1 Cor 15:33; Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."
Jas 5:20; let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
2 Tim 3:16; All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

My understanding is we are to assess the actions and personal conduct of others, not judge that person's spiritual heart if they are of God. I'll leave that task to the Holy Spirit for guidance. Any action which goes against the will of God is a sin; falling short of the mark.

On the subject of what a sin is, I dealt with a person for a period of time who was adamant that "just bearing with a trinitarian" is a sin, listening to trinitarian music is a sin, it is a sin for a woman to cut her hair, etc. If he was banned from online groups (which he frequently was), he would throw a tantrum claiming that group rejected "the Truth". Curiously, he had no issues whatsoever banning people from his sites who did not endorse his POV. His all-time favourite verse is Acts 1:8, which in his opinion, gives him the right to curse others in the name of Jesus. He has cursed me in that manner twice. Yet, he was preaching the truth and I was "false Christian scum" because trinitarians believe in three gods and I did not necessarily endorse his POV on whatever topic he was on a rant about. I don't write this to malign or condemn him. He is still "preaching the word" on his online sites although there seems to be little acitivity.

I agree that Scripture wans us against certain behaviours, and encourages us to adopt certain behaviours. That advice is there for a reason. I also think that some of the rules that the Israelites in Deuteronomy lived under were as much about honest obedience as necessity.

Returning to the topic of the Disney empire, do I think that Christians could have a good time at Disney theme parks? Absolutely. It does not mean they endorse any Disney Management philosophies. An airport or a hospital which has a chapel does not mean the Administration there has a vested interest in religion. It may be simply a good business strategy for those seeking solitude and spiritual comfort. Speaking of which, I pass by a taxi stand at work and I frequently see Islamic drivers putting down or picking up mats at the back of the building shortly after supper. This occurs in the summer months as Winter has a way of discouraging such activities.

It was quite a convention. And the evil angels went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busy, busy, busy and to rush here and there. I guess the question is: has the devil been successful at his scheme?

Disney? When you buy into those images, you are actually joining yourself to the dead, you’re living in death. A typical example of this is the word recreation. What it really means is re-creation. What are they re-creating? When you engage in recreation, you’re being re-created. You’re joining the things of the flesh, because all recreation appeals to the flesh. They want you to go out there and enjoy the things of the world. They make sure they’re always available to you, so that you’ll buy into them. Recreation as opposed to obedience and duty to Christ, which the bondman of Christ are to engage in only. Recreation is of the natural man, the heathen, that’s all pagan nonsense. Recreation is where you take off the whole armour of God.

There are no games in the scripture, except by the pagan, The only theatre is in Acts 19:29-41, and that’s the pagan theatre where they tried to pull Paul into to try him for commercial violations. The townclerk said he’s not engaged in commerce, so they didn’t have any cause against him. And if Paul was being dragged into the theatre, now we know where all the hypocrites were. They’re all a bunch of stage actors. They can be the stage actors and give you the sense of justice, and give you that image that you’re being ‘well served’ by your court appointed liar…I mean lawyer. And you can be very well taken care of in the theatre, where the hypocrites rule. That’s another image that’s out there. When you go on stage, you’ve joined yourself to the mask of death; the mask itself is the thing that’s defined in its codes, rules, and regulations, i.e., person, individual, business, corporation, partnership, organization, etc. These terms are all a persona, which means "the mask of the actor," i.e., a fictional character that substitutes for the flesh and blood man. From this word ‘persona’ we get ‘person,’ a fictional entity created by the government. This is a necessary use of the word because Martial Law powers can only deal with fictions, i.e., persons. You’re the stage actor when you become one of those things. You become something other than who God says you are.

Iworked for Disney Studios in 1974 as a bus driver, picking up movie stars from their hotel and driving them to the location in Mamouth Mountian CA. The movie was Kit Carson and the Mountian Men. The two main stars were Ike Isman and the guy that played the father on the Btady Bunch. He was a homosexual and some on the film were nasty people, and cared little what they said infront of the star child or women. Frankly I was pretty sick.

However we must remember thst actors are just that. They put up a false front to make pretend they are someone they are not. I think sometime we christians become actors. we act one way at church and someway e;se at work and home.

God see's us as we really are. He still loves us and wants us to become surrendered to Him. Most of us have slipped in a sware word when we lost our temper, or get frustrated. I know I have and then I feel so mad at myself and ask why did I do that? That's when I say the OSN got to me OSN that's the old sinful nature. I can't imagine what heaven will be like when my new nature is in place.

As for Disney, all movies and films are ment to distract us, and when we allow our children to watch Harry Potter saying it's ok, than we have done a serious sin against our Lord and children! If we are not being careful about what we and our children watch then we have opened to door for the wicked one to enter. Most PG 13 movies are unfit for christians to watch. Some PG movies made for children are filled with sexual innuendoes and double meanings that are purely intended for adults. Yes Disney is quilty of this and are some movies made just for kids. AS parents we need to be on RED ALERT for the craftieness of those who are intent on making our children into children of the Evil one. Ignore those of us who are warning about these dangers and watch your children turn against you and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The popular Disney Channel family sitcom "Good Luck Charlie" will feature a married lesbian couple in the final episode of the fourth season, which ends in 2014.

According to a July 8 post on the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation website, "GLAAD's Entertainment Media team consulted on the script for the Disney Channel's episode of 'Good Luck Charlie' in which a character's two moms are introduced. The episode marks the first time the Disney Channel will feature an LGBT character in one of its original programs."

GLAAD noted that during a recent interview with TVGuide.com a Disney spokesperson commented, "This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors. Like all Disney Channel programming it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness."

Ross Murray, director of news for GLAAD, told The Christian Post on Monday that "there are children with gay or lesbian parents in their school, worshipping in church, working on the job, or serving in the military, so this television show isn't really that different than what kids encounter on a day-to-day basis."

"GLAAD didn't create or promote the storyline for the show, but we are thankful that Disney wishes to include all families in their programming," Murray said.

Alison Howard, communications director for Concerned Women for America, told CP that parents and the public should contact Disney and their cable provider if they are opposed to Disney's depiction of a lesbian couple on children's programming.

Two moms, or, two dads living as a couple, is becoming increasingly acceptable. Therefore, Disney Studios can defend its programming methodology by claiming it's a reflection of Society. I have also seen snippets of shows which are increasingly featuring demons and such. The antagonists seem based on the Islamic Jinns which are mischievous demons. The hero of the story is a demon who has switched sides, but not in the Christian sense of the term. One can defend the program by saying it's merely fictional entertainment.

Dec 6 marks the anniversary of Halifax Explosion in 1917, the largest single detonation a city suffered prior to the atomic bomb. being dropped on Hiroshima. This was caused by a munitions ship colliding with another in the Harbour Narrows.

Dec 7 mark the anniversary of Japan's attack against naval and air forces stationed at Pearl Harbor. This attack became Japan's undoing. Ironically, the two countries since the 1960's have remained surprisingly friendly.

I don't know about the subliminal stuff but they show elfs, fairies, genies, Greek gods such as Neptune, chimera like mermaids and spiderman, ghosts (demons), and demigods like hercules....The problem is....they don't tell you that these creatures are not fantasy....They're real..and soon people will be seeing them regularly...And welcome them

But the problem of spiritual corruption is greater and deeper than just Disney and their products.
Years ago I gave a talk on the fact that Disney had never made a "Christian" movie, but rather as you described produced a plethora of non-Christian
alternatives promoting magic and the occult. Before Harry Potter, there was Walt Disney.

But Disney is indicative of the entire wickedness and deChristianizing of the West by Hollywood and pretty well the whole mass media, pop culture, and
music entertainment industries. Even going back to the late 1950's and 1960's Cary Grant and others were promoting falling in love with every beautiful looking
woman, divorce and remarriage. Hollywood promotes extreme violence, revenge killings, pornographic lewdness, shacking up with a partner...
the list of sins is endless. I have only glimpsed at music videos in passing, and they are pretty raunchy from what little I have seen.
Yet young people consume these in great quantities and base the rules of life on this soft porn.
Elvis Presley grew up as a Spirit-filled AOG member and started singing Gospel Music, then came Rock n Roll. He ditched his Christian upbringing to
pursue his love of playing music and singing to take up this new youth music hated by his parent's generation and many other Christians.
(remember the smashing and burning of vinyls - the devl's music - back in the 1960's)
That did not end up well for him, dead at 42. To sell your soul for fame and fortune is a great tragedy - "How does it benefit a man to sell his soul..."

Popular culture and media is one of Satan's most powerful weapons against preaching the Gospel; and is the most effective distraction to people in
questioning the value of their lives and their existence, their purpose and destiny. Why worry about the important questions of life and death, while
you can watch the Disney Channel or whatever.
And let's not get started on the brainwashing video games industry with a vast array of violence,
killings, porn, mind numbing addiction to X-Box, Playstation and the whole games universe.

The goal of the Devil is to distract us from becoming the Abraham's, Daniel's, and Paul's. It's true that Elvis grew up singing gospel songs which were replaced by mainstream songs. He and Ed Sullivan once got into a confrontation regarding the singing of a hymn. Sullivan was adamant his show didn't feature that type of music. Elvis stated that if he couldn't sing the song for his mother, then he wouldn't be singing anything. Sullivan agreed to his demand. In later years, Elvis and his musicians would spend many hours after concerts singing gospel songs. Elvis and his mother passed away at the same age.

Hollywood does what sells entertainment and what it can get away with. The entertainment industry as a whole takes creative license to achieve a more sellable product. Little Richard wrote the song, Tutti Fruitti, but Pat Boone recorded it because he connected with a broader audience. One reason why many games such as Mortal Combat and War Thunder (for example) are popular is because they incorporate a scenario of destroying the enemy in an atmosphere of safety. If your character dies, you reset the game. When you're tired of it, you shut it off and walk away to play another day.

People who remarry several times tend to make bad choices or have a lot of bad luck. While Hollywood is famed for short-lived marriages, some stars remained married for many years and were faithful.

I have Latter Day Saints (Mormons) visiting this evening. I'm not looking forward to any arguments regarding Scripture, but I have a feeling it won't be that pleasant. There is much controversy regarding the beliefs of Joseph Smith, Jr. I don't have a problem with the Book of Mormon being a history of early settlers with its language most likely Hebrew, but I do have a problem with it being an equal considering its appearance and disappearance. If the Bible fails, which is meant to stand on its own merit, the Book of Mormon fails with it and any other book tied to the Bible.

Grace sorry I really don't agree I am Christian and as you can see by user name I am massive Disney fan I do not agree banning Disney is up to you as a parent but the magic is clean magic done with songs the satanist characters the evil queen maleficent etc are beaten a character I find a good role model is belle she is kind caring and sees what is on the inside instead of the out good Christian traits wouldn't you say There is no cussing no sexual imagery just nice old clean family films to. Sorry, but what you stated in this is the problem. There is no "clean magic". It's as if we were to state "but she's a good witch" and in saying so that somehow its now makes it okay to be a witch. Now, many have tried to rationalize it by stating that the things that Jesus did was magical. That is truly to take away from the power of God and giving the Glory not to Him, but to Satan. Jesus answered that perspective in Matthew 12:24-25.

You have to remember that deception is not overt. It gives off the appearance of being beneficial. The way the world sees right and wrong is not how God who establishes what is right and wrong sees it. Scripture provides us guidance through the Holy Spirit to see a little clearer then the world would want us to. This guidance and clarity provides us the ability to not be deceived by the wiles of the Evil One. Yet we have to be willing to listen! The world would tell you otherwise. So the question you must ask yourself is. No matter what the world says. Can it be beneficial if it goes against scripture?

I know you enjoy this and it provides you a little enjoyment in what is otherwise an ugly dark world. I feel for you that the words you are reading here do not seem to agree with how you see this. Disney is filling a hole that up to now is not being filled/satisfied by anything else.

Look to the things of God and you will be filled. Filled to overflowing! What will truly fill you then will not be fantasy/escape, but reality in Holy Spirit power to do even greater things then Jesus did Himself!!!!!

That is something to believe in and have faith on. Our Lord's words.
