What did Jesus mean when He said, “It is finished”?

I am going to make this simple and plain that a mere child can understand this. But the adults is another thing.

"What did Jesus mean when He said, It is finished"

New American Standard Bible
"Then God said, “Let Us make Human in Our image, according to Our likeness;" [In order to be in the image of the "Triune" you must be "Glorified"]

!. GOD The Father Has A Role in Making The New Creature in the Completion of The Human. [ADAM]
2. The SON [The WORD] Has A role in the creating of The Human [Adam}
3. The HOLY SPIRIT Has a role in the completion of The Human [ADAM]
It is a 3 part process. and each one has a part. Just like a assembly line, for your Completion.

Each one had a work in the completed work of "The Human,", Let "us" make man in Our Image. According to our Likeness.
Each one of the "Triune" has a image! Now what those 3 images look like, I don't know. and how would I know what a Glorified and Holy GOD looks like. In Three person. a Sanctified being Eternal and incomprehensible Being would look like. 3 beings are at work here.

Jesus when He died upon the Cross, He Finish His Work, Then They had to send the "Holy Spirit" from Heaven to do His work in the Creating shaping of this creature, This is the plan of GOD BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF The world. The finishing product of a being conforming into the image of His only begotten SON. For we will look just like HIM. And we shall reign with Him for ever and ever more. This mortal will be couple with immortality, the finishing product of the [Human]. Now There will be "Angels, Human, GOD" 1, 2, 3. all three will be in Eternity. Now No telling what God the Father will create next. But what ever He may decide, and what ever Jesus, REIGNS OVER ,We will share that reign with him!

And when Jesus finish His role ,He said it is Finish, [I have done my part.] in creating this "human".
(John 17).
"These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I have "preach" on this topic in my late 20's. "It is Finish".

John 5:36 Jesus said:
But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

American Standard Version
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

That a mere "PloughBoy" may understand.

Hi Chris,

I understand your thoughts; they are thoughts shared by many. I look at the language used in the writings, and it's clear to me and many others that the church should not be called "church" but should be called the "gathering of believers" or the "gathering of called out ones." The KJ translators weren't stumped when they translated ekklesia, they were simply calling it what the king preferred, i.e., church. The same can be said of the KJ translators using the word Easter in Acts 12:4 instead of passover; they weren't stumped, they were just not comfortable calling passover the "passover" because it would sound too Jewish.

You're correct to say that God is not yet finished with Israel. I don't believe they will be a priestly class, since Jesus Christ is our Great High Priest - we need no other. Those that repent and come to faith in Jesus, are born again, will be saved, the same way that non-Jews are saved.

Blessings.
Hello @JerryfromMass,

I thank you for responding. However though corresponding we are not engaging. You have your reason for that, perhaps it is that you believe that in engaging with what I have said you will derail the subject of the thread: If so, then I will respect that.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
