Started seeing a counselor n we started digging in my journey..so after speaking to me one time for one hour she came to the conclusion that i am deeply depressed..now perhaps one who has not the Lord would be in despair if they have walked my walk..

So when we spoke again and we was talking i said ya know many who hear my story my see a depressed person... I said but this is not the case.. what i have is a deep and profound sorrowful heart and spirit and if i did not then i certainly would not be able to be considered a human being..but also what many who are not connected with the Spirit of the Lord on a deeper level understand that i also have joy.. see my joy has been filled for i Hear the Lord..n then spoke to her what i get to daily..

Idk perhaps her perception of depression will change.. depression is a curse that many speak over others and speak over themselves..

Even Jesus wept. If the counselor isn't a Christian she won't be able to understand you. If possible get a Christian counselor. Also ask for prayers to heal past wounds that life's journey has caused.

Find a true Christian counselor. I personally only consult Jesus directly but some people prefer a person they can see in which case judge them by their fruit to see if they are worth listening to.

Any man with real wisdom would be better than most councilors. Councilors are taught to assign normal causes and conditions to any situation and to not take into account the spiritual. As for christian councilors, they are not always aware that some problems do require medicine if the body is out of wack. And sometimes with both of them, they are more interested in being right and curing you of your problems so that they feel more righteous about their own worth, therefore lacking in wisdom.

In this time and age most do not really listen. And media makes it worse. The attention span and patience.. And it has always been the case that the few wants to dig deeper, wants to understand deeper and able to follow you deeper, and stay there. Compare it to animals. Some, are land animals. They are content with the surface and would quickly drown if go deeper. Others are in the water, but stay on the surface. They might hold a while, but eventually give up. Then there are those that lives and breathes the depth at the same time. To the rest, they seem too deep and too intense. And most of all, they feel exposed. They don`t talk like the rest. Those people are not afraid of emotions or deep things. It has always been the case those are few. And this goes for therapists too especially in our time and age. To effectively help someone work through their stuff, one has to be the last group. Because you have to be able to hold it, feel it and go to the core and still resurface, with your client. Further there are many narcissists and psychopaths that are drawn to these proffessions as well because of control and power. be mindful.

This "thing" has to be present no matter if the therapist is a christian or not and it has nothing to do with it but it is a personal quality. How else are you going to understand and go down under the surface and resurface it is impossible. Those like that are the born therapists. A God`s gift. Sure there might be some christian therapists like that. I know one, she has an online ministry and she takes clients too I believe, Shaneen Meghji.

There are therapists though that do respect your faith and do not cross it, best to be transparent. After all it is a professional relationship it is best to find out and make clear from the beginning what is harder is they might carry entities that can cross over. Depending on what person they are what life they are living so, check

I'd probably could not afford one who claims to be a true Christian seems they as greedy as the world frfr..those who truly walk with the Lord dont use a title to boast about it .. n especially dont use a title to cash in ya know?

Imagine being a Christian and teaching someone who needs help that they should not look for a Christian counselor.

Are you a Christian? If you were, you would know that even a bad Christian, perhaps the worst Christian you can think of, is still better off than someone who is unsaved.

I have not yet seen you quote a single Scripture in any of your posts on this forum. Please try to do better and understand that if you genuinely want to help someone, you need to first find Jesus yourself. Then you will be convinced that Scripture is true and powerful, and you will counsel others with it rather than with your own opinion.

Twistie, counselling is good. NBTT was spot on that you must look for a Christian counsellor.

My wife and I went to one. When they pray you can feel the Holy Spirit's presence enter the room. They may not be the ''best and shining example'' of a Christian, but that does not mean God cannot and does not use them. A Christian opens the door to Jesus and the counsel of the Holy Spirit. You want that over someone who does not.

Well thats not for me to choose Abba leads n o listen to Him idk what this counselor is not is that my concerns my concern is to deal with these major trust issues n i trust one who boast they are are a Christian less then one who claims they dont believe and dont hide who they are so to say..seems all Christians well many wanna to is to like teach people like many cant even hold a convo...i dont mean to sound like mean or anything its just a common problem i run into alot ya know .. idk perhaps you have choices i do not i am mainly home bound we do not drive we have no vehicle we make ends meet by the grace of Abba we are able to eat on a daily basis..My husband's needs will always be above what i can n can not do with the medical i have .

When it comes to “giving advice”, it is not just a “Christians seem proactive” issue. It is rather a “humans are highly intelligent” issue.

Our brains are incredibly advanced. An example I often use to show just how advanced we are is the human face and how we interpret the data. Our face can produce around 7,000 different combinations of facial movements, and our brains can detect and interpret these subtle differences while also recognising the person in the context of other changes such as age, hairstyle, facial hair, lighting, viewing angle, distance, and even partial obstruction.

We process all of this automatically and almost instantaneously, without consciously calculating any of it. The complexity of what the human brain does just to recognise and interpret another person's face is extraordinary.

Now when it comes to counselling, any human with a working brain will have a lot to say. Not only Christians.

It is only a Christian that we should mostly rely on. This is because God is real, Jesus is real, the bible is real and the bible is crystal clear that Christians are changed people.

There are plenty of those who call themselves christian that live and behave like the devil. I have met many like that. That is because they haven`t made Jesus Lord.
As such there are also many "christian" consellors that are in that same boat.
It is up to each and everyone to know where they stand and having Jesus as Lord.

I want people to give me the truth of the word of God. If my feelings are at first hurt by their tone and selection of scripture I will recover.

A telltale sign that someone is a Christian is by their eagerness to keep to exactly what scripture states. Their respect of and belief in scripture as the unadulterated word of God.

Being friendly is not a sign, no. The devil was very friendly to Jesus when he asked Him to jump in Matt 4.

I just read about a woman at another site she said she endured years and years from her husband and he tried to kill her and came close, she HAD to end it.
Another example I come to think of, where there is a predator to a child, and that predator is close family.. both cases, dangers to life. Get killed, or escape?

Jesus gave room for leaving a marriage in case of adultery and many priests also gives room for serious situations like described, in case of hounouring your parents when they are a danger to life, still, as adult, you can still do that and protect yourself.
