What is God's righteousness?
Greetings,
Thank you for your replies.
If someone was to ask, what answer would we give to explain God's Righteousness?
Bless you ....><>
Romans 6:18
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Notice the verse is talking about the Born again.
It says they are made free from sin...
So, when you find someone who is "confessing sin and repenting", then you've discovered someone who isn't born again, or they are, but have no idea what Salvation is all about.
The word of God infallibly informs us what salvation is about .It leaves no room for unbelief, (no faith that could please God .)
I would think "confessing sin is repenting"
the verse says......>"Being made FREE from Sin".
Its does not say, giving you sin for you to confess.
See, if you are "made FREE from sin", that is because Jesus has taken care of them all........so, that is why you are "MADE MADE MADE.... free"
That is not you doing it.,... as you can't make yourself free from sin, Garee. If you could then Jesus didnt have to die for all your sin.
To repent or acknowledge is a work of Christ working in us .(Not of us)
. I was saying he gives us the power to confess or repent . The commandment that turned him was: "be not faithless, but believing.
"
Then faithless Thomas acknowledged the lord was working in him and the Holy Spirt gave Thomas the prophet words . And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Again before he was given faith the power to believe working form within he had none not little zero . He was then given little the golden measure
What is God's righteousness?
I would say to seek The heart of God like David. For this not only reveals the inner most part of our God, but it also build that relationship deeper than words can express. For he reveals himself to those who seek him So it’s definitely part of the journey! And a beautiful one at that[If] we are to seek His righteousness, what is it that we are to seek?
This verse is often repeated but who actually knows at all what it means?
It can roll off the lips, but, really, what is God's Righteousness?
It would probably help if we knew? Or is that part of the seeking?
Righteousness is the (right)ness of the Heart.
So to have Gods righetousness, is to have Gods heart. Which is given too us through Christ.
Hello BethelTo have "God Righteousness" is to have the "GIFT of SALVATiON, and the "GIFT of RIGHTEOUSNESS".
You can't get those by trying to be good person, as you are a SINNER, and so, that ENDS, your "righteouness"
THis is why GOD had to come here, and DIE for YOUR SIN, so that HE can give you HIS "GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS".
If you die without this........ if you are never born again, then you will not go to heaven.
You have to be "Made Righteous", by God, through Christ to posess "the Gift of Righteousness".
This is to become born again., SPIRITUALLY.
This is why Jesus told YOU that ... "you must be born again", and He's not talking about water baptism.
Hello Bethel
None of this explains exactly what Righteousness is. Let alone Gods…
What would you say salvation is?
This can get really confusing.Salvation is JESUS.
ITs HIM..
From the Cross, Jesus said......>"it is FINISHED"............ What is Finished? = SALVATION.
God takes what Christ died to accomplished "(It is Finished"), and gives it to us as a GIFT. = "The Gift of Salvation", and .. "The Gift of Righteousness".
When a person truly understands that JESUS is Salvation, then they will understand that..
1. Jesus is Salvation
2. Jesus is Rightouesness
3. Jesus is Redeemer
4. Jesus is Eternal Life
5. Jesus is THE Resurrection.
So, when we Have JESUS in us...........as born again,......"Christ in you the hope of Glory", ...(Glory is Heaven), then we have become .. "The righteousness of God.....IN Christ".
This is why all the born again are spiritually = "Seated in HEAVENLY Places......in Christ"......right now.
This can get really confusing.
Can you be a little more specific?
Like what does it mean to be saved?
What are we being saved from?
