What makes us righteous?

I am the righteousness of God IN Christ Jesus. Only in HIM are we found righteous at all. To live is Christ; to die is gain. Amen

  • When it comes to sin, man wants to primarily focus on the "Nasty Five" and the "Dirty Dozen".
  • I dare say that many Christians are even conscious about some of their sins.
  • Have you ever had doubt or been negative?
  • Jesus says it best: Matthew 5: 27-28 : “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart

Where does the Bible say it is a sin to be negative? (sorry for being negative :) )

  • God is Omnipotent and in his perfection understanding how any negativety affects us is to understanding him more clearly.
  • Negativity is nothing new. Since Adam and Eve were first banished from the garden, life has been hard and we have been complaining about it (Genesis 3:23). It is the nature of sinful humans to live for ourselves and to complain when our desires are not being met (Galatians 5:19–20). We tend to argue for our “rights,” demand our way, and oppose anyone who disagrees with us. That combination results in a general spirit of negativity toward the world and life in general. It is understandable if those who do not know Christ are negative. They have no hope of anything beyond this world and its confusion. But negativity in a Christian’s attitude means he is refusing to see life from God’s perspective.Negativeity leads to doubt. When we join in with hostility, pride, and complaining, we are reacting the same way unbelievers do.
  • The closer we get James, the further apart I see us be.

The closer one gets to God, seeking His will and His ways; the more one is blessed with God's wisdom and understanding by revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ.
One, who is being led of the Holy Ghost, the only true Teacher, begins to realize they are no longer "of this world", but are walking in the Spirit.
We don't fit in, anywhere, but with Him who created us. We come to hate this world, and our own life in this world; for it full of doubt and negativity; in which, we (I) am not a part of it; I was, but I am no longer. I have been saved, redeemed, delivered, justified, sanctified.....by Him; for Him. Amen.
I do not desire to be "in the world" anymore; but it is better for you if I stay. Amen.

Those, who are chosen, to go ye into all the world; has not forgotten what God delivered them out of, and we are to go forth, IN Spirit and IN Truth, to those who are still being beat down and in bondage "of this world". Amen. We are never to think more of ourselves than we ought to think; for I am nothing without God. Amen. I remember all to well what "nothing" feels like.
Being careful when ye think ye stand; least ye fall. Amen.

Be a blessing to someone today; for that use to be "us". Amen. We are not "all that". God is all that. Amen.
Love does not kick one in the teeth when it see's one down; Love reaches out His hand and lifts one up. Amen.
No greater love hath a man, than he that will lay down his life for a friend. Amen.
Jesus is my best friend; no matter what I am doing, it should not take president over a soul I see in need. Amen. Co all things as I would do unto God. Amen.
If my fleshly life is more important than a soul I see in spiritual bondage, because they do not understand; I have become to no effect. Amen.
I am a waste of time and space to Him, whom I say I believe.

Those, who are indeed baptized into Him, no longer walk according to the flesh, but walk in the Spirit with Him, who has chosen them out of this land. Amen.
He is in me, I am in Him, and we go unto the Father. Amen. We are one; not separate; but ONE. Amen.
My life is not my own; it belongs to God. Not only my spiritual (eternal) life, but this carnal (fleshly) life.
For I do not walk according to what is visible, but what is invisible. For every physical attribute, there is a spiritual underlay. Amen.

All praise, honor, and glory be to God. Amen.

I see your point regarding a spirit of negativity and habitual doubt and negativity, but I believe you were referring to momentary doubts and negativity as sins. I don't buy a "new age" interpretation of negativity and doubt which some Christians have, which are basically from the "power of positive thinking" cult that is frequently on "Christian" TV programming. Even one I heard blamed the immoral actions of a respected TV preacher on the "negative words" spoken by the congregation, what nonsense. Biblically speaking doubt is to be double-minded (James 4), it is to live for God one day and not live for Him the next. Everyone's faith wavers and goes up and down and everyone has periods of negativity however this is not doubt, this is part of normal Christian living and I don't see any Biblical evidence of where doubt or negativity itself is a sin. According to Romans 14:23, the condemnation and sin does not come from doubt, but the doubtful actions that offend the conscience.
