The word host does not refer to the sun, moon, and stars. The sun, moon, and stars are the reference point of where the eyes are lifted up. The place where the host of heaven are, and the warning Moses gave is not to bow down and serve them. How could the sun, moon or stars be served? To serve something means there has to be some sort of communication. Look at what "host" mean from the concordance..

H6635
צבאה צבא
tsâbâ' tsebâ'âh
tsaw-baw', tseb-aw-aw'
From H6633; a mass of persons (or figurative things), especially regularly organized for war (an army); by implication a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically hardship, worship): - appointed time, (+) army, (+) battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon, war (-fare).

Sounds like a host means more than a ball of gas in the sky being worshipped.

Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

It is a narrow, and small view that we are the only "star" that has fallen. Seems that we could be only a part of the 1/3 that Satan causes to fall. Is this talking about only our earth, or could more of a galatic scale be indicated? If some of us can be redeemed even though we ourselves have fallen, then why would the standard be any different for the rest of the 1/3 of heaven?

At this point in time, I would have to agree that many alien sightings could be the manifestation of demons in order to confuse the whole issue. To make them look like the "savior of the planet" or a higher race that has all the answers. It really does seem like the kindgom of Satan is on a campaign to give out their own spin of how to view these creatures. The Christian perspective needs to be that if/when we have to deal with the real life terrestrial creatures is to look at them as we would look at any other group of people being ministered to, or evangelized.

I would tend to agree with your view here; the whole 'alien' paradigm is a satanic deception, with the entertainment industry (guided by satan) giving its full support. The depiction of aliens as ugly warmongering killers (apart from E.T.) bent on the destruction of the human race is placing in the minds of mankind a seige mentality and the response is going to automatically be defensive whenever 'aliens' are mentioned. We have been conditioned to be so since the 1950s. Aside from the fact that the whole thing is an insult to the Creative beauty we know of our Lord.
So what is going to be our response when satan himself appears as an 'angel of light' (impersonating Jesus) to defend us from 'aliens'?

So far, I think I'm tracking closest to brakelite. What I don't understand is why some believers feel the need to be so dogmatically driven about even the most speculative and hypothetical topics. Who cares in the end?

This thread reminds me of C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy. Even if you can't read all three books, just the first book "Out of the Silent Planet" will make you think about our world and the universe in a much different way.

You may be right on some points there, but I don't think they will be here for any real good reason according to our own perspective. When a nation invades another nation, the one that is inferior will usually get the short end of the stick.

Isa 24:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
Isa 24:22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

This host of the high ones, and the kings of the earth seem to be in some sort of conspiracy or treachery here for the Lord to get so angry that He locks them up in a pit. That does not sound good for the regular joe on earth.

But there is something that every Christian should take to heart, and take comfort in..

Mat_24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mar_13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Interesting the words there. One end of heaven to the other, and to the uttermost part of heaven Christ's elect will be gathered!

Well I'm sure that Moses had the best of intentions when warning about what is to come. I think he actually cared in the end.

If aliens where real...

I'd tell them to stay away from Harry potter, who's creator sold her soul to go from ashes to stashes. Warrior, by erin hunter, who really stinks when it comes to using reincarnation in her books, and the halo series, who's inventor thinks he put the Christian religion in a non-Christian video game while not even getting remotely close. I'd also tell them to stay away from pok'emon, who thinks it's ok to mock everyone, Disney, who seems immune to the discovery of foul subliminal messages in their cartoons, and area 51, no need to explain why. And of course, Lady Gaga, who dresses provocatively and pokes fun at the sanctity of marriage.

All joking aside, I'd have to agree with breaklight more than anything.

What to do if aliens are real.... call immigration and report them?!

LOL, well that is an option. Then send them back across the boarder, arm them, and send them back across through the tunnels as drug runners being used for a shield for the terrorists and slave traders. Sounds like a wonderful plan to erode the nation.

Shucks. You took a funny answer and made it seriously political. Ahh well, our nation is in bad shape, and in major need of repair, starting with less power in the federal govt, and more power to the states as it was intended. Too much power in the hands of the feds is bad whether it be the repubs or dems in charge of the White house. All three branches of government have become so partisan, that they no longer care about whats best for the people, but whats best for thier agenda. Like calling the constitution a living document... sounds good that way... but it really means that they can change it as they want when they want. I am beginning to wish I was a jew so that I might be welcome to move to Isreal. Its not much better there, but they at least arent going down a path of self destruction as we are here in the states.

And here I thought I took a good joke and made it better :money:

Well, I can certainly be political, its there right underneath the surface. But amoung my christian brothers and sisters, I try hard to avoid it, as it leads (IMO) to arguements over things of the world, and if I have to argue, I would rather argue for Christ. But thanks for your kind reply!

Sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by aliens, like walking into the twilight zone sometimes! ;-)

There are no "Aliens".

They are neither angels, nor demons. They don't exist.

Any Christian who has any knowledge of astronomy, and astrophysics would giggle at the very idea.

...and I'm ROFLOL right now.

But...if there where such creatures...and they landed in my backyard...they'd be "taken care of", dressed, cleaned, and covered in BBQ sauce as they turned slowly on me grill. Not being human means no cannibalism.

Meats, meat, and a man's gotta eat.:shade:

i dont know if you believe the bible. there are angles inthe tomb of Jesus after his ressurection there wwere angles at his birth. there are angles in heaven who cry of Gods Holyness. now you may laugh at those who proclaim this but do you believe Gods word or not.

In all seriousness, aliens are merely creations not born of this world. And yes, angels would fall into that catagory. But assuming all sorts of things concerning them without the evidence is merely faith and paranoia. As to faith, I would rather have faith in the Lord. Paranoia is fine in very small doses, but dangerous beyond that. So the real question is, "Does it really matter if some alien incidents involve angels or not?" Not to me. God is still in control!!!

Seriously????

So, the stories, and that is exactly what they are, of Aliens suctioning up folks to their spacy-ships, and proceeding to probe their bottoms...are Angels?

Riiiiight....

Yes, I believe the scriptures are the inerrant word of God. I believe, therefore, that there are supernatural creatures, angels, demons...but please show me the scripture where theses are the same as the phony tales of Alien abduction, probin' and space ship rides.

Playing fast, and loose with the term "Alien" would include all of us as we are not of this world, yes??

Yes there are Angels, and you'd better believe there are demons, but only people named Mulder (and those who are ignorant of astrophysics) believe in grey skinned aliens from another planet.
