Hi this questions goes out to anyone who has had success memorizing multiple verses. I'd like to become better at memorizing key scriptures and just don't really know the best way to go about it. If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

The entrance of Thy words giveth light
Psalm 119:130

Greetings @bbro3k

I have found that listening to recordings of the scriptures is really helpful.

If you search online you can find some quite beautiful recordings of the Bible or portions of the Bible to download.
(You have to search a little bit to weed out the not so good recordings)

I have found that listening not only helps with memory but also can help with understanding the context.

I also have a little box of verses/bible passages that we read at teatime as a family....asking the children to read them too.
Then we all repeat them by memory
This can be helpful for shorter passages.....and because the children always notice and correct any errors it keeps me on my toes

Just a few thoughts anyway that I hope may be helpful.

the best way is to apply them( or take them ) to youre heart as you go...youre mind will forget but youre heart wont ......Rev

the old sunday school method of setting verses to catchy tunes still works for me

I'd like to chime in on what verses you should memorize for spiritual growth. They should be the ones you'll use, quote out loud when resisting temptations. Find a couple verses that address whatever you're struggling with. Memorize those and speak them out. The Word is what Christ quoted each of the 3 times when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness.
