Jesus is considered to be a Messenger of God and he was sent to guide the Children of Israel. [Mathew 10:5-6 and Mathew 15:24] - I was sent ONLY to help God's lost sheep -- the people of Israel with a new scripture, the Injil or Gospel.

David, you've drawn your conclusion based on only two verses taken out of context? Jesus came first to the Jews...Through the Jews, He expected to bring in all the rest of mankind. He sent his disciples to all the world. Please read on, prayerfully

To answer the question posed by the title of the thread "Who is Jesus?"
I'd probably look to start reading the 1st Chapter of John of the Holy Bible.

Still, reading each of the Gospels would probably help you in answering that question.
Each comes from a different perspective.

Gospel of Matthew - King
Gospel of Mark - Servant
Gospel of Luke - Man
Gospel of John - God

I hope this helps you some, or at least points you in the direction you can look to in reading in order to help you answer your own question.

To me He is my Lord and Savior, and I await His return.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Matt 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matt 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Neither of these two scriptures you have quoted speak to His status or purpose. ''Messenger'' and ''guiding Israel'' is your assumption.

Jesus was crucified for calling Himself God John 5:18 and came to teach sinners to repent Luke 5:32.

The context of your two verses speaks only to Him being called to preach to Israel. Not China or Australia. Disciples were chosen for that.

Do you have anything that supports your ''messenger'' opinion?

As Bendito has explained, you have cherry picked scripture. I must warn you, if you read Matt 4:1-11 you will see the devil did that to Jesus. We must not do the same.

Yep - the Jews were waiting for a Messiah. Jesus did not fulfill the sacred texts or qualify as their Messiah. That is why he was rejected. Otherwise he would have been accepted.

John 17:18
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Jesus was sent by God with a new message. So as He was sent by the Father, He send the disciples. Christ, in other words, comes with a message from God, and the Apostles with a message from Christ. Both these orderly arrangements, therefore, originate from the will of God.

Please can you give scripture for this statement.

I feel you answered your post # 5 with post # 8.

How about 'this' -- Jesus is Jesus Christ, the Son of God,. the second person of the Deity.

He is our risen Savior.

The Jews - as a whole- did not accept the birth of Jesus to be their Promised Messiah -- They wanted their leader / Savior to come then and there. However, the birth of Jesus in Matthew fulfills that which was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14. Immanuel Would be coming. Matthew 1:22-23 Immanuel -- which means "God with us". The Jewish population wanted their leader -- the World needed a Savior Every person Can accept Jesus Christ -- as their Personal Risen Savior. Many Jewish people Have accepted Him and many will in future years. And many Gentiles have accepted and will in the future.

Just because Jesus Christ Has come and Has bodily resurrected and Can be our Savior -- doesn't mean that everyone Will accept Him.

  • In John 14:6, Jesus declares: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Why is it important to know that NO other religious leaders throughout history have ever made these claims? According to Ephesians 2:8-9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.” How does this contrast with other world religions which are based on “works” versus faith in Jesus and the resurrection? If we can’t build a relationship with God by doing good deeds or repeating rituals, what must we do? Acts 4:12 is clear, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

1 Jn 2:2; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Rom 5:18; So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.

Tit 2:11; For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

If Jesus isn't the Savior of the world who is? Is there another Savior?

God calls Jesus "God" in Hebrews 1.8. Jesus calls Jesus "the Almighty" (God) in Rev 1.8. All 3 parts of the Godhead are mentioned in Zech 12.10 KJV. These are among many references in Holy Scripture that clearly show Jesus is God incarnate, why would we argue different? I suspect that the originator of this thread could well be a lurking muslim. He mentions injil and messenger. Two classic muslim terms.

Just wondering where you get all three parts of the Godhead from Zech.12:10 ? Totally agree with the rest.

Hi Sue. Who will pour out the Spirit? God will, it is God who speaks. What Spirit will He pour out? His Spirit. Who will they look upon who was pierced? The KJV says (God still speaking), They will look upon Me (God) who was pierced. Amazing eh?

1) Jesus is the promised Messiah (Christ=the Anointed One) .
2) He is the Son of God (or Son of man because came through Marry) because His Father is God: Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
3) He is the Christ because was Anointed BY God. "God is a Spirit", The spirit of Christ Pre-existed and pre-knew the obedience and the Glory of His Son: 1 Peter 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. So is the Anpointed by the Spirit of God.
God`s Spirit knew the Son of God in His mind, that is why is called : the firstborn of every creature: It was not the first created being! But His Spirit who is God himself had in His mind the perfect man Jesus . And so first He so Jesus and then made everything according to him.
4) Is the only way to God, the only manifestation of God:Col.1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
5) All what God is ,dwells in Jesus: 1: 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
John 14: 9 Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Ιωάν. 10:30; 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works
6) God resurrected Him and gave him all His glory!!!!!!! 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. ( Matt.28 :18 All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth)
7) We know the character and the name of God because of Christ! He was the "visible image of the invisible God" 15 Who is the image of the invisible God
. 2 Cor.4: 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
8) The name of God is Jesus. God gave His own name to His image!!!! . John 17:11 Holy Father, keep through thine own name that which thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. Phil.2: 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; "
9) The name oif God is Jesus Christ:
Matt.28: 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:(IN THE NAME ,SINGULAR ) Peter understood which is the Name that is above all names. And so :Acts:2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." "Romans 6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? " "Gal.3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. "
10) Dos is A Spirit (and He is the Holy One). We have only One Spirit. We also have only One God and only One Lord :2 Cor.3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

:) So we believe in the Son of God, he is the true God and the eternal life .Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Victor There is NO truth in this statement of yours! Jesus fulfilled every single prophecy about Him all the way from Genesis 1:1 The Jews did not accept Him because He did not come the way they wanted Him to come. They wanted Him to come as a conquering king, and to kick the snot out of the Romans. Instead, He came as a lamb to the slaughter.
