Who is Jesus?

Yep - the Jews were waiting for a Messiah. Jesus did not fulfill the sacred texts or qualify as their Messiah. That is why he was rejected. Otherwise he would have been accepted.

You're deceived or ill-informed. I think deceived, based on your confidence that you're right. But, you're dead wrong.

1) Jesus is the promised Messiah (Christ=the Anointed One) .
2) He is the Son of God (or Son of man because came through Marry) because His Father is God: Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
3) He is the Christ because was Anointed BY God. "
God is a Spirit", The spirit of Christ Pre-existed and pre-knew the obedience and the Glory of His Son: 1 Peter 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. So is the Anpointed by the Spirit of God.
God`s Spirit knew the Son of God in His mind, that is why is called : the firstborn of every creature: It was not the first created being! But His Spirit who is God himself had in His mind the perfect man Jesus . And so first He so Jesus and then made everything according to him.
4) Is the only way to God, the only manifestation of God:Col.1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
5) All what God is ,dwells in Jesus: 1: 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
John 14: 9 Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Ιωάν. 10:30; 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works

6) God resurrected Him and gave him all His glory!!!!!!! 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. ( Matt.28 :18 All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth)
7) We know the character and the name of God because of Christ! He was the "visible image of the invisible God" 15 Who is the image of the invisible God
. 2 Cor.4: 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
8) The name of God is Jesus. God gave His own name to His image!!!! . John 17:11 Holy Father, keep through thine own name that which thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. Phil.2: 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; "
9) The name oif God is Jesus Christ:
Matt.28: 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:crying:IN THE NAME ,SINGULAR ) Peter understood which is the Name that is above all names. And so :Acts:2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." "Romans 6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? " "Gal.3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. "
10) Dos is A Spirit (and He is the Holy One). We have only One Spirit. We also have only One God and only One Lord :2 Cor.3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

 So we believe in the Son of God, he is the true God and the eternal life .Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Well -- your note under your #3 point. Jesus Christ is the 2nd person of the Godhead. Jesus Christ was God incarnate / God in the flesh. God the Father was still in heaven. Your way of stating that is a bit confusing to me. And the Godhead and how it works Can be confusing. The 3rd part of the trinity /Godhead is the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ had to ascend back up to heaven in order for the Holy Spirit to come to begin the indwelling work / keeping power in the life of the born-again believer.

#6 -- Jesus Christ was praying to His Father -- John 17

Some of your next points -- possibly pulling verses out of context ?! They Do say what they say, but .....

Well -- Jesus Christ Is the Son of God -- God the Father is the true God and the giver Of eternal life made possible Through the death, burial and bodily resurrection Of Jesus Christ.

And, yes, we Do need to keep ourselves from idols. :)

Tit 2:13; looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

2 Pet 1:1; Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

Heb 1:8; But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.

John 20:28; Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
John 20:29; Jesus *said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."

John 5:18; For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

U know..pet makes interesting points. The Bible never says that God the son prayed to God the father. Furthermore, God (or Gods) don’t pray. Yet, the son prays, which to me means, the humanity God, assumed thru birth, was praying to The Spirit (God). The son being that Holy thing processing in Mary that would be the earth clothes put on by the Almighty. Remember: the son never says “I live by the Son” but says “I live by the Father.” The son, also says, the Father, not the Son, is in me”
Even when Phillip was eagerly awaiting the revelation of The Father, Jesus did not say “when u see me u see the Son,” He said u see the Father.
The son says many interesting things that provokes thought. He says “my God” as though he has a God and says he has a Father.
Interesting.

Are you a professing Christian? And when I say Christian what I mean is one who believes the basic tenets of the Bible one of which is Jesus is God incarnate. If you are of the cults of mormonism or JWs you fall outside that category because the of having denied the Deity of Jesus. Just wondering. If you look at my earlier reply you will see where Jesus Himself claims to John that He is the Almighty. And Jesus as the Almighty not only prayed but taught us how to pray as in the Lords prayer. Where did you get the notion that God doesn't pray anyway. Its certainly not in the bible.

Well citizenIreland. I am a Christian. Didn’t mean to offend u. Yes Jesus is the almighty. I said as much. I’m interested in study dialogue. So to continue...since Jesus is God and God prayed..to whom did God pray and why? U seem to have a lot of knowledge. Don’t just say well God prayed and that’s that. I want to know what u can teach me. Prayer, I think, can only be offered to a superior. What say ye?

Michael no offense taken my friend. To understand who Jesus (God) prayed to we must have an understanding of the Godhead and the place Jesus holds in it. The Godhead is mentioned 3 times in the new testament KJV. Acts 17:29; Rom. 1:20; Col. 2:9.In Acts 17:29 the Greek term is theion, signifying “divinity” or “the Deity. Jesus is the second person of the Godhead and is rightfully God Himself. He is God the Son. The other two parts being God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. So when Jesus prayed He prayed as God the Son to God the Father. I don't know if this helps but it's the best I can explain it.

Not a problem. I knew what u meant.
Acts 17.29 KJV, Rom 1.20 KJV, Col 2.9 KJV. Michael sorry for the late reply. I've been busy. As I thought the verses were correct but the bible version on this forum wasn't giving the correct translation, as does the KJV which was translated from the original Greek manuscripts. Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

I've wondered why so many people feel that the KJV is the only really Right version. Because lots of people feel that same way about the NAS.

Actually -- the KJV version came from a combination of the Bishops Bible and Tyndale's Bible Plus available Greek and Hebrew manuscripts. The 1611 version has been updated / revised several times . The source of This information states that the 1611 was revised in 1769. I'm getting this information from a book I got several years ago. Rose publishing co. Bible Basics -- Why Trust the Bible, It's really very good. Some of the topics are How we Got the Bible -- Dead Sea Scrolls -- Prophecies fulfilled by Jesus -- The Gospels: "Lost" and Found -- 50 Proofs of Old Testament / New Testaments.

I grew up with KJV -- have been in some other versions, also. It's still God's Word.

Yep - the Jews were waiting for a Messiah. Jesus did not fulfill the sacred texts or qualify as their Messiah. That is why he was rejected.
The were looking for the Davidic Messiah of Isaiah 9:7. The Messiah of the covenant (Daniel 9:26, Isaiah 53) was someone else. Also his condemnation of the religious heirarchy would have made his acceptance difficult.
