so often I hear, "Jesus came only for the Jews", what he says does not apply to the gentiles. Well I can not disagree more on this topic. It actually saddens me as to hear people say this.
people who say this,, take one scripture Matthew 15-24 to prove there point. He certainly did go to Israel first.
Matthew 15:24 -- He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
But that did not stop him from going to other non Jews and helping them,, even complementing them on their great faith.
Mark 5:34 --And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.” (not a Jew)
Matthew 8:10 -- When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. (not a Jew)
Just reading the Bible knowing Jesus is the king of one flock, one group, I have to question why would he come only for the Jews, he is my king, I obey his words ,,don't you ? So when we dive more into scripture we see a bigger picture unfold before our eyes. Jesus came to offer eternal life for all who believe in him. The lost, the sinner, you and me !! It is clear as day to me IMO that John 10-16 is speaking of gentiles.
It is clear as day to me IMO that Luke 19-10 is speaking of all people.
Romans 6:2 --For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Luke 19:10 -- For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
John 10:16 -- And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
If Jesus came only for the Jews he can not be our king
If Jesus came only for the Jew we can not partake in eternal life
If Jesus came only for the Jew his sacrifice on the cross is not for us.
SO Jesus did come for us all to be saved, he came for the sinner, .
Now we have to understand that does not happen easily, Jesus came he had several things he had to do in order that we may be granted eternal life. He had to become the perfect sacrifice, he could only become the perfect sacrifice after living the perfect life that is impossible for us to live. He is the only person to ever fulfill the law, making him able to be the perfect Holy sacrifice one time for all people. He fulfilled what the prophets spoke of him.
So it is the Gentile and Jew both require a perfect sacrifice, one that requires the law to be fulfilled in order to have eternal life. Yes the OT points to Jesus as the perfect sacrifice, it seems people think that may be the Jews are the only one who needed Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice, but no we gentiles need it also.
John 3:16-1 -- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
so my question to those who say Jesus came for the Jew only, is
do you not require a perfect sacrifice for your sins??
