Why Did Jesus Curse the Fig Tree?

To know what those prophecies quoted in the New Testament from the Old Testament, one must go back and study them.

You contradict Apostle Paul with your reasoning on the matter:

1 Cor.10
11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

I said
That admonition is to not be like the Jews. If they had done anything right Jesus wouldn't of had to come. And it makes no difference on any of the prophesies. There going to come true. We cant change that.

What you said was this...and I quote:

"Now satan can quote old testament so I don't trust the old testament. That is why it says the old testament has a veil over it that remains to this day"

Thing is, Satan doesn't really accurately quote Old Testament Scripture, as per the example in Luke 4 when he was tempting our Lord Jesus. The 1611 KJV version of Luke 4 includes a phrase Satan added to the Psalms Scripture he was supposedly quoting. Later more 'modern' lacking Bible translations removed... that added phrase.

Some of the newer modern Bible translations that omit many things that are actually written in the NT Greek manuscripts that the majority of the early Christians used (Majority Texts), are leading many brethren into error of understanding. Cases like yours tend to point to that problem.

And with your last statement I quoted, Apostle Paul never said that. What Paul said was this...

2 Cor.3
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

Well you do have a right to your opinion. As do I. Like it says when one turns to the Lord Jesus(new testament) the veil is taken away.

2 Cor 3:14-16
14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.
15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

In Matthew 21:21 Jesus says if you have faith you will not only be able to do what was done to the fig tree, but also to say to a mountain be removed and it will be cast into the sea. So if you have faith you can wither trees too.

I think when Jesus withered the fig tree he was transferring the sorrow of the diseases of the people he had healed and his hunger into the fig tree so the fig tree would take the damage instead of the people. I've tried withering trees after learning of this and have had some effect and I've noticed how it's easy to transfer the hate, sorrow and disease from yourself into the tree.

The Holy Spirit had me curse a pecan tree. But it took 5 days to be completely dried up.

You have some strange doctrines. For me, jesus cursing the was a forcast of future events when Men , whodo not bear the fruits (works) of God, will be cursed and eventualy burned. You need to give your hate, sorrow and disease to God and not try heeping it up on a tree.

You assume to much. There was no hate, or even dislike for the tree. The Holy Spirit told me to do it. To test me to see if I would obey.

That's awesome Squeaky.

And Rj I need to please God in a different way than just giving him my emotions, so I do what his son Jesus Christ told me I could do and it's like a branch growing off of him. John 15:5
