Why is Adam blamed?

Thanks for all the good questions parajo,
I think Adam was rightfully blamed because he was in the wrong completely. He loved his wife more than God and God's law. He also failed to protect and watch out for his wife, who I'm pretty sure was named Eve. Though some may disagree with that last statement.

LOL, Honestly, it makes no difference to me, it isn't like I called their name Adam in the day there were created. And I wasn't the one who gave the Woman the new name of Eve after eating of the tree.
But when Paul wrote Adam who wasn't deceived but the Woman, you probably think the woman was the female named eve. As if a male and female can give a child a soul.

If we sin blindly it is still sin, but when we sin knowingly is not our fault all the greater?

There are two ways you can sin.
(1) By not doing what you know you are suppose to do. "James 4:17.. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. "
(2) By doing something you are not suppose to do.
Adam did both. He failed to do what God told to do by protecting the garden. He failed when he ate from the tree God commanded him not to.
Adam being the "head" of his wife was the "responsible party"

Excellent question . . Adam was blamed because God created him not only in authority over his wife, but God created Adam as federal head and representative of all his offspring.
All humanity are his descendants, and because Adam sinned, sin was imputed to all his children.
This is an important truth, for without understanding the significance and importance of Adam representing the human race, we cannot understand the last Adam, Jesus Christ, as representing all His spiritual children as Mediator.
Through Him alone, can righteousness be imputed to offset our sins.
This federal representation of the two "Adams" is taught in Romans 5:12-21 and in I Corinthians 15:45-49.

He wasn't "blamed", but was declared guilty by God. It takes the rest of the Bible to explain why he was guilty, and what it took for God to get his man (men and women) back into that original relationship.
I really don't think his sin, which was simply taking part in the sin of another, was any greater than that of Judas Iscariot or Peter. Judas didn't repent, so died in his own remorse. Peter repented, so was put back to the ministry work. Adam could have, better should have, repented. All he showed was remorse, guilt, hiding behind a fig leaf.
I hope not one soul reading this is living a crushed life, depressed over some bad choice, living under some loudspeakers with the Devil on the microphone, explaining why that sin in the past has made you useless to God.
Turn the amplifier off, silence those speakers. Ignore him, for if you are in Christ, he has nothing in you but lies. If all he has against you is a sin that you have repented of, then he has nothing at all, no power over you, no valid blame.
But when we turn the blame amplifier back on, we live under blame, convinced we are still guilty, needing punishment.
Adam shouldered the conviction, rightly blamed by Satan, rightly guilty before God.
But Jesus rightly shouldered the punishment, the full blame and guilt of it all....because only he could....and rise again to serve the living God.
Arise! You don't have to wait for next Easter. Repent, quit it, overcome it in Christ Jesus. Stop playing the Blame Game the Devil wants to play with you.
In agreement with this. For us now, we cannot use an excuse like "born in sin" anytime we do sin. We're guilty of all of our sinful actions. We can't blame Adam & Eve or claim nonsense like some have said, "the devil made me do it".
Just checked Adam's rap sheet, looks like he got 935 years for eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Adam was given an inescapable death sentence as payment for his sin, but lived 935 years consigned to this death sentence before his actual physical death, only because God provided temporal atonement through the offerings of substitutional blood offerings (Genesis 3:21), which allowed he and his offspring to procreate, that eventually led to the last Adam, the Savior Jesus Christ, born of woman, as promised. (Genesis 3:15, 20)

ROFL! I had no idea where you were going with that one. My curiosity is too strong to not ask though. I was going to make some joke about Adam marrying his rib or something eariler, and decided not to.... I regret that decision now...

You subscribe to Matt 4:4 right? If not mistaken, Rev 13:8 says the names of those written in that book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.1 Cor 15:22

Fear is the opposite of faith. Fear hath "torment". Who ever "fears" has not been made perfect in love.
God has not given to us a spirit of fear.

Spiritual death, does not mean physical death. Spiritual death happens when a heart goes from light to darkness.(Romans 1:21)
Satan and all his fallen angels are dwelling in darkness. We were once darkness, but now we are light.....

I honestly don't know if Jesus Christ pardoned, redeemed, and justified Adam or not.

All Scripture reveals, is that a remnant of Adam's offspring, called out of all the nations, were written in the Lamb's Book of Life. (Revelation 5:9 and 7:9)
