Your Conscience: Staying on your course.

The Law.

My Bible says Christ has Redeemed me from the Curse of the Law. Poverty, Sickness, early death, the list is long in Deut 28.

It was by breaking the Law that brought the curse.

The New Law, Love God with all your mind, heart, soul, Strength, and love your neighbor, doing to others as you would want them to do to you, complete the Old Law and fulfill it.

So, breaking that Love Command by stealing, or whatever be under the Law, brings me back under the punishment of the Law, for not believing and abiding in the Lord Jesus, I must face the penalty of whatever the law my bring. Therefore do not stay in sin, but repent.

Jesus Is Lord.

A sensitive conscience is clear and clean only in as much as it agrees with the written word.
"To the law and to the testimony. If they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them". Isaiah 8:20
Man is too prone to social conditioning, wrong teaching, media, temptation, personal justification, pride, ego, covetousness, and numerous other influences both in the world and in the church, to be permitted to think that his conscience is the bottom line in evaluating right from wrong. The conscience wasn't given to us to make that decision. Our conscience is given us to judge whether our behaviour is in agreement with God's word, or the law. We cannot discard the law claiming "freedom", and then using our own deceptive hearts as a moral standard.

1 Cor 9:21 King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

this is not speaking about some kind of law we are judged by. because the law of God is written in our hearts , in this sense we do have law yes and whats written in bible still is law. but we are not judged by any law because we are forgiven and have grace , thats the big difference.

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

No one cant be justified by law.

Jas 2:10-12 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (11) For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

if we think we maybe good with God because we keep parts of the law were wrong. The bible says love your neighbour as your self and if you havent been able to keep this perfectly until today you have already failed.

(12) So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

we have law of liberty... thanks to His Grace.

law guides us not to sin but we still have grace - i wouldnt take one verse out from the bible and start preaching you have to be perfect towards the law when bible states the opposite - freedom from law and liberty.

God bless you..

You make it say whatever you want but it says that we are under the law to Christ. You say it isn't for the purpose of judgment but there is no other purpose for law.

You error by leaving out the simple word 'the'. He is speaking of a particular law. Your same verse talks about another law but doesn't say law. The just shall live by faith. The law of faith.

You take a statement about a 'law' and try to turn it into grace? Wow.

The law was to guide the Israelites not to sin as much as they were. The law of Christ on the other hand is to guide us in to full maturity in Christ, not sinning at all. Do you have a lot of trouble not sinning or something? Why would you fight so vehemently against the idea that we can live without sin in our lives?

My thead is getting beat up.

MY Thread is getting beat up.

Jari could be thinking along the lines as keeping the law in a traditional sense Gary. There has been some confusion about eating Pork, and Thou shalt not Steal not having the lines drawn firmly in someones head. That Could be what he is talking about Gary. Hard to tell with Jari at times.

Jesus Is Lord.

MY Thread is getting beat up.

My conscience was slightly pricked about this....after I posted. It is always the same process. Once any subject touches on the fact that there are requirements, the thread takes a turn down the old rabbit trail.

And I am pretty sure, after having exchanged with Jari several times, that he believes that he can do what ever he wants, whenever he wants and still be accepted by God because he simply gives mental accent to the fact that Jesus died for him. But let him clarify it for us.

You make it say whatever you want but it says that we are under the law to Christ. You say it isn't for the purpose of judgment but there is no other purpose for law.

Paul probably meant he's under guidance of Christ when he said that. Paul always talked about how grace works through him and if he boasts about him self he boasts of his weakness.

2Co 11:31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

this is not talk of a man who's under law but under grace.

You error by leaving out the simple word 'the'. He is speaking of a particular law. Your same verse talks about another law but doesn't say law. The just shall live by faith. The law of faith.

there's essentially only one kind of law.
that's Gods law of right and wrong. the jewish many laws stated in OT given by moses are obviously not obligation to us, but neither is any other law because when Bible says we are not under the law there's no distinction made of which law. so it means, really, not under any law.

You take a statement about a 'law' and try to turn it into grace? Wow.

you should read it again. there's really a worthy point there.
we are under law of liberty. if you want to be under the law of the Bible then there long list of do's and donts. And greatest commandemnts are to love neighbour as your self and God above all. can you do that? I dont think anyone can perfectly. which is why we always need grace.

Bible says no one's perfect and if we say we have no sin we make him a liar and the truth is not it us. And i dont think living sinless is whats maturity is about. True maturity comes through Holy spirit which on the other hand helps with sin.
and actually sin isnt issue when being Christ like as its by the Holy spirit...
because Paul was imperfect too and served God mightily and boasted only in his infirmities.
so i dont think maturity is about how sinless you are. rather how close to God you are. And we have access to God's holiness through the blood of Jesus and not our selfrightneusness.

God bless you

Thank you.

I look at the Royal Law of Love, and obey my consciences the love of God shed abroad in my heart. If there be any other law, the Royal law of love covers it, keeping free of the Old law, and breaking the commandments.

and sorry about your thread...

yea, every post bumps my thread to the top, and I want it to be for legit reasons, staying as much as possible to the original topic. That seems to be the case with lots of threads however.

Obey your conscience....... There.

Jesus Is Lord.

Sometimes I find that God will put a genuine thought or action to complete upon my heart, and soon after, the devil will try to alter that message to either add on, and make it seem absurd, or delay me from actually taking action in the first place. I just need to trust the initial prick upon my heart, and don't give the enemy any leeway to try and confuse. God bless; this was an interesting thread..

My wife and I.........

My wife and I always ask each other.........

what was the first thing in your heart, or hear from God... what was first.

I have learned through the years that my ability to reason out my first direction, was always the path to disaster.

If we can mature in this area, watch out!!!! We will be off on things that don't even make sense, but bring great glory to God.........

We can tell it's God by keeping our conscience clear before we go to sleep each night. Just do it!!! If you mess it up, least it won't be on your conscience and you won't miss God. He can fix it. Better God to fix it, than not stepping out in faith.

My sons TV set:

We just moved to Branson MO, no money, at the Church God wanted us at. We slept on the most expensive beds we could afford.

Air mattresses.

My son had a new (umph... playstation, sorry) but no way to even play it. Faith takes action, so my wife started to set money aside each week for a TV for my son.

I was at home, and the Lord said........ Go to Walmart. Not a voice, but inside my heart. Just a knowing to just go to Walmart.

So, I left, and went, with no idea why. In the front of the store, I meet a couple I knew that had been shopping in those thrift stores. They told me of all the good deals they had, and gave me a list of all the different thrift stores and locations.........

Great, what was I suppose to do with this? Thrift stores..... bahhhh.. but I told the wife on Saturday I would take her to some of these to look around.

Saturday came, and we were about to leave, but I got a "Wait!!!" in my spirit........... just a stop, a check, a wait......

So, I told the wife, we wait here until I got a "GO!!"

2 hrs go by.............. Wife mad, and waiting.......... I get the "Go now"

So we left, and I had my list, but one store stuck way out, it just "Seemed" like the first one to go to. So we went to that store, looked around, spent the 12.00 we had to spend on some nice shoes.

Out of money, and ready to leave, the wife was paying for the shoes, I was outside, waiting on her just walking around the front.

Just then...................... A truck pulls up. In the back was a nice color TV. curious, I asked the guy that was bringing it in.

He said. "The TV no longer works, the screen won't come on. I thought this thrift store could fix it and make a profit."

Just then I heard the Lord say...... Ask the clerk about that TV. So I went in, and asked the Lady. She said if we wanted the TV, she won't charge us for it, just take it so she did not have to put it in inventory.

So, we took the broken TV and remote home. Free of charge.

Nothing was wrong with that TV, though the guy said it needed a picture tube. That was six years ago, and the TV runs fine today.

Ignoring God on the small things, mean you can miss the big blessings.

Jesus Is Lord.

something similar happened to me. there was LCD display at sell for 50% of price and it had another 50% off because it had no sound... the speakers were broken, otherwise it was brand new i guess.
so i bought that really expensive lcd with about 1/4 of the price and the speakers didnt work at first but started working later on..
it was something that caught my eye many times in store but i never bought it wondering why no one else did. i guess no one believed it was so cheap since it has two price off tags... but when i asked about it i found it really was cheap.
it was also what i needed.

That is Awesome !!

That is so Awesome to hear Jari!!! God wants us to Prosper, but I fully believe that prospering is also being led to things that are hidden from others. Nobody else notices it, but God gets our attention.

I like to hear things like that Jari, God is so good.

Jesus Is Lord.

Nice stories Mike and Jari. I'm going to work on being extra sensitive to my conscience, and hopefully will begin to hear God clearer as well. God bless!
