@Dovegiven, @Life,
I stand on what I read and understand scripture to teach like everyone else.
You believe: “In Christ there is no room for "dual citizenship" spiritually.”
I believe this to a degree also. But I believe believers are dead to this world as Christ has told us; this is the reason why we have no dual citizenship. If a believer is dead to this world how can they sin? Which would make them a citizen of this world if they did. Sin is of this world. If a believer sins they have a dual citizenship. There is no sin in the body of Christ (1Joh. 3:5, 9). If we walk in this world in an unfruitful manner, God is not remembering our sins because He is not imputing sin in this New Covenant promise. God will be merciful to our unrighteousness by not remembering our sins (Heb. 8:12; 10:17). We are in this world, but we are not of this world. We are citizens in Christ having been raised with Him.
Col 3:1 If “you then be risen with Christ,” seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection (Gr. exercise your mind, entertain or have a sentiment or opinion) on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For “you are dead,” and your life is hid with Christ in God.
If we are risen with Christ, as 1Cor. 15:17 teaches, we are not in sin and cannot sin.
If it is true with Jesus, then it is true with believers. If it's not truth with Jesus, then it is not true with believers.
As Jesus is, so are we in this world spiritually, not fleshly (1Joh. 4:17). Is Jesus Righteous? So are we in this world. Does Jesus sin? So are we in this world. Will Jesus come and judge sin when He returns? No!
Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to “bear the sins of many;” and unto them that look for him (through faith) shall he appear the second time “without sin” unto salvation.
G399 (bear)
anapherō
From G303 and G5342; to take up (literally or figuratively): - bear, bring (carry, lead) up, offer (up).
(GW) Likewise, Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of humanity, and after that he will appear a second time. This time he will not deal with sin, but he will save those who eagerly wait for him.
(HCSB) so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.
(ISV) so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. And he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly wait for him.
Jesus has already taken away our sins and He will not judge, deal with, or entertain sin anymore.
The question then would be, what about those believers that sin? God is coming without sin to judge His church which is sinless.
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that "judgment must begin at the house of God": and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18 And "if the righteous scarcely be saved," where shall the "ungodly" and the "sinner" appear?
Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and "they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend," and "them which do iniquity";
I believe that there is a need to repent or risk being left behind when the Bridegroom comes, but to convey that a believer can never sin is to make a believer give up abiding in Him because he had sinned.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John 2:1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
So this is about running that race in living as His disciple in how we live this reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ when we look to Him to help us lay aside every weight & sin by walking in the light with Him as He has done.
Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
You need to be careful about how you project yourself as if you never sin since you beware saved because then you sow doubts to believers that have been saved when they slip up & sin.
I need to be careful not to convey that it doesn't matter in how they live their lives when they are saved BECAUSE it does matter in that the Father will chasten every unrepentant child of His; by leaving them behind at the pre great trib rapture to receive stripes per the measure of knowledge they had failed to prepare themselves with His help for the Bridegroom ( Luke 12:40-49 & Hebrews 12:1-29 ) When there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, it is no wonder that God has to perform a miracle for all those saints resurrected after the great tribulation because like Esau... who gave up his broth right for a meal and the prodigal son for giving up his inheritance for wild living, there will be a loss so keen that God has to wipe the tears from their eyes to get past that loss; that damnation as it is a damnation for never to be a vessel unto honor in His House, but forever a vessel unto dishonor in His House. Only God can stop them from crying over that loss.
So it is not a small thing; that loss of inheritance in the kingdom of God; and although they can never lose their salvation, they can never get that inheritance ever again once the Bridegroom comes and they find themselves left behind, but they will be present with the Lord even in death, and they shall be resurrected in a glorified terrestrial body to serve the King of kings from various places all over the world as priests and kings for the coming generations out of the millennium reign.
The vessel unto dishonor are in His House to testify to the glory & power of God in salvation for all those that believe in Him, even in His name; yea.. even as He still abides in former believers as promised in 2 Timothy 2:10-13 Read that.
