“Have we the true Children of God, been over ran”?

There were times
dad would bring home bacon grease from the local restaurant i made biscuits and gravy a lot... IT was not unusual for churches to have grocery shower in the 50s. Folks shared what they had... Vinson and trout fed us many times. God provides

like i remember Buttermilk and corn bread was a meal! and happy to eat it, and like it! and a little syrup and butter on hot corn bread was a treat and a meal.:blush:

Matt 16:18; I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

Jesus says the powers of darkness will not prevail against the church.

In other words, [Peter do not get the big head, you are nothing but a stone and "I AM THE ROCK" and I will build the "Congregation" upon me!] and the Gates of HADES will not prevail! WHY? Because:
(John 10).
28I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. 29My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.” "Now aren't you glad" Your Salvation is secured. Paid in full and Sealed.:pensive:

Yes, Peter wasn't the rock. Peter's belief that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of God is "the Rock" that the church is built on.

29My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.” "Now aren't you glad" Your Salvation is secured. Paid in full and Sealed.:pensive:

I don't believe in OSAS, but that's another topic for another day.

So in other words when Jesus purchased you and paid for you by His blood, "[atonement] for you to be His slave, And then you decided to run off, And just because you ran off, you do not belong to HIM! You ,do not belong to yourself, you where bought with a price, You are not free! He will send HIs DOGS after you! To the 4 corners of the earth! and bring you back, and if He has to He will leave the 99 and hunt you down, and grab you around your neck with that "Shepherd Staff" and drag you back into the Sheep Fold!
You must be white. "Now i am saying that with humor" so you can get the point! Now that is what you call " A Gift of Language", Speaking in a language you can understand. You ain;t free! LOL :p I got news for you! you do not have to believe "OSOS"! LOL! I can see now, it is not going to be a dull moment in GOD"S kingdom! We got a lot to talk about!:cool:

i see right now my brothers and sisters is going to get me " Excommunicated" from "TalkJesus" for a lack of " Tack and Diplomacy" and with a little kindness maybe probation. I cannot help it. one of my weakness. pray for me.

I have a more Arminian view of these things.

Being in the flock doesn't guarantee anything. Wolves are among the sheep, hiding in plain site. Both good fish and bad are in the kingdom. Both wheat and tares are in the kingdom.
Even stumbling-blocks are in the kingdom.

Remember, even though all the sheep are accounted for the flock... most of them still end up at the butcher shop.

God was with the Israelite's in the wilderness 40 years, He didn't lose any of them. He knew where every single one of them was. He never left them or forsook them, but many of them forsook Him.
Virtually none of the ones who left Egypt made it into the promised land. You could say Moses preached for 100 years and never had a single convert.
So just because you are in the flock and God has you in His hand doesn't mean you are saved.

It really isn't the problem. But OSAS has been discussed... Hmm... lets see, maybe 3 dozens times since I've been here on TalkJesus. It never ends well.
More often than not, it doesn't change anyone's mind. People get angry, people say things they regret, and threads get closed... leaving everyone disappointed.
Usually we eventually make up and move on to the next topic.... but it tends to be a dangerous subject because people are passionate about it.

I believe that the "Holy Scripture" teaches that those who starts off as such and do not continue until the end, but turn from the faith i don't mean stumbling and falling in to various sins, But turn from God or Jesus completely and denying the faith. are what we call where only "Nominal Christians" confessing christians who in return became "Apostates". Those type of People where never saved in the 1st place, but they knew the language of christianity the motions. They where taught well in the "institutional church" a very well train devil by a real christian. either in a "religious college" or church classes. like any other apprentice.
They where near saved in the 1st place but claim and looked like the saved. and most likely more religious than the "Real saved person". Scriptures stand by that statement. "let them both grow together" unless you snatch up the wrong one.

This is the first time i have read/heard anyone say the Children of Israel were damnned to hell

Numb 16;
28 Moses said, “By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these deeds; for this is not my doing.
29 If these men die the death of all men or if they suffer the fate of all men, then the Lord has not sent me.
30 But if the Lord brings about an entirely new thing and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that is theirs, and they descend alive into Sheol, then you will understand that these men have spurned the Lord.”
31 As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open;
32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who belonged to Korah with their possessions.
33 So they and all that belonged to them went down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. 34 All Israel who were around them fled at their outcry, for they said, “The earth may swallow us up!”
35 Fire also came forth from the Lord and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense.

1 Cor 10;
1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea;
2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 and all ate the same spiritual food;
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.
5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well-pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness.

6 Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they also craved.
7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play.”
8 Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in one day.
9 Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents.
10 Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.

Exod 32;
7 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.
8 They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!’”
9 The Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, they are an obstinate people.
10 Now then let Me alone, that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great nation.”

33 The Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.
34 But go now, lead the people where I told you. Behold, My angel shall go before you; nevertheless in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”
35 Then the Lord smote the people, because of what they did with the calf which Aaron had made.

Hebrews 3
16 For who provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?
17 And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?
19 So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.

Hebrews 4
1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.
2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.
3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
“As I swore in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest,”
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
5 and again in this passage, “They shall not enter My rest.”
6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”

and only the elect of God hears that message and it is for them and them only, It is like a schoolmaster, it is like a Shepherd herding his flock. only the ones who has the ears to hear. and when they hear they come, some run, some walk, and others may limp, then there may be many that have to crawl, wounded and scarred.

Was that ALL the Children of Israel as your other post implied ? I am well aware of the Stories of the Israelites

Was that ALL the Children of Israel as your other post implied ? I am well aware of the Stories of the Israelites

It's all of the ones that left Egypt. (Obviously the next generation made it)
