This is the first time i have read/heard anyone say the Children of Israel were damnned to hell
Numb 16;
28 Moses said, “By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these deeds; for this is not my doing.
29 If these men die the death of all men or if they suffer the fate of all men,
then the Lord has not sent me.
30 But if the Lord brings about an entirely new thing and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that is theirs, and they descend alive into Sheol, then you will understand that these men have spurned the Lord.”
31 As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open;
32 and
the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who belonged to Korah with
their possessions.
33 So
they and all that belonged to them went down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. 34 All Israel who
were around them fled at their outcry, for they said, “The earth may swallow us up!”
35
Fire also came forth from the Lord and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were offering the incense.
1 Cor 10;
1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea;
2 and
all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 and
all ate the same spiritual food;
4 and
all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and
the rock was Christ.
5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not well-pleased; for they were laid low in the wilderness.
6 Now
these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they also craved.
7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play.”
8 Nor let us act immorally, as some of them did, and
twenty-three thousand fell in one day.
9 Nor let us try the Lord, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents.
10 Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11 Now
these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.
Exod 32;
7 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have corrupted
themselves.
8 They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made for themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it and have sacrificed to it and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!’”
9 The Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, they are an obstinate people.
10 Now then let Me alone, that
My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make of you a great nation.”
33 The Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.
34 But go now, lead the people where I told you. Behold, My angel shall go before you; nevertheless in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”
35 Then
the Lord smote the people, because of what they did with the calf which Aaron had made.
Hebrews 3
16 For who provoked
Him when they had heard? Indeed, did not
all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?
17 And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to
those who were disobedient?
19
So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
Hebrews 4
1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.
2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us,
just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.
3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
“As I swore in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest,”
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh
day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
5 and again in this
passage, “They shall not enter My rest.”
6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and
those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,
11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through
following the same example of disobedience.
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
