WE HAVE TO EAT JESUS

As I said, parables are a teaching tool. Jesus once said to Nicodemus that if you can't understand earthly things, how can you understand heavenly things? We crawl before baby steps, and baby steps before walk, and walk before run. Yes, there're multiple layers of meanings, one theory suggests that the seven kingdom parables in Matt. 13, starting with the Sower, corresponding to the seven churches in Rev. 2-3. It draws a timeline of the spiritual status of the Church throughout the entire church age from the Pentecost to the rapture. But still, we peel it one layer at the time.

The same applies to the old testament without parables Christ our teacher the Holy Spirit spoke not .

How are we to rightly didvde them?

John 8:51 I tell you the solemn truth, if anyone obeys my teaching, he will never see death.

John 12:47 If anyone hears my words and does not obey them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

We have to hear and obey Jesus, it is how we receive him. It is how we eat of Jesus. On the day of judgment a person who does not have the Lord in them by obeying him will not have life.

Do we have to hear him before we obey Him ? Who does the first work?

Do we have to hear him before we obey Him ?
What do you mean hear "him"? You mean hear him through reading the scriptures?
Who does the first work?
Jesus came to do the work of his Father. He came and taught the way. He tells us and shows us what to do to get saved and to stay saved. Our works is to do what Jesus says to do, it is how we get saved and stay saved.

Beloved ones, we heard:

“Blessed are they which do HUNGER and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So what righteousness we can eat and drink, that we shall be filled ?

Previously, we heard about our Lord Jesus said:

“And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an HUNGRED.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And we heard our Lord answered:

“But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So let us do hunger after righteousness, that we hunger after every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Well, there were plenty of poetry and analogies in the OT, but officially, only those little allegories with characters are qualified as parables. Prophet Samuel told one when he confronted David about the adultery he committed with Bethsheba.

Eating Jesus' flesh is when you actually do what he says. You won't ever get around it and to deny it is to deny the truth.

Jesus: "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

You: Bless me first by saving me after I hear and believe.

Jesus: For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

You: No, whoever believes is your brother and sister and mother.

Jesus: You are my friends if you do what I command.

You: I'm your friend because I believe you then I will do what you command, maybe.

Jesus: "If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples

You: I am your disciple already because I have faith in you.

You go against Jesus who plainly says to obey him then ____ ____ ____.

Can you explain how we should obey ?

@BloomOne

Jesus came to show us the way.

He starts out saying to repent of your sins.

We have to confess and repent of our sins.

He says we have to humble ourselves and we have to admit we are sinners.

We have to change to that of a little child who has to do everything their father says.

Jesus says we have to want him more than we want anything or anyone, and that we are not to ever give up, give out, or give in.

When a person wants to be saved they get Jesus' teachings and he shows how to have the heart and mind of someone he saves.

After a person confesses their sins to Jesus and repents of them they crucify themselves to sin with Jesus on the cross and believe that Jesus' blood washes them clean.

You call on Jesus to save you, to give you his Spirit, to make his home with you in your heart.

Then you are born again and live your life pleasing him by obeying him.

You work out your salvation and train yourself to do right.

Jesus lives to intercede for us, so if you sin then you confess your sin to him and he will forgive you and help you.

How? Just do what Jesus says.
There's a constant struggle between the body and the mind, aka the flesh and the spirit, Ishmael and Isaac (Gal. 4), and it's been proven by science that 90% to 95% of the time we act on subconscious, which is cellular memory or muscle memory, and that memory is formed by repetition, not merely by faith through reading, hearing or speaking. In other words, our daily habits are built into our cells which liberate our brain to process new information.

Don't dismiss this as irrelevant, the Word of God is always supported and complemented by science, otherwise it's not the Word of God. The flesh has a natural tendency to resist any change of the established behavior pattern, it has its own inertia like any objects. The brain may be willing to obey Jesus, but the body has a mind of its own, therefore we must follow the Holy Spirit to overcome that inertia, build new spiritual momentum and form godly habits - by daily practice.

Its the only place we can as it is written makes the devil flee .

Can't hear him gazzing at the strars . While the heavens declare his glory they speak nothng of his love revealed as it is written .It represents the storeom of the faith of God (sola scriptura) He give us little, the golden measure. Peter hoped he would increase it.

God says don't lean on your own understanding just do what He says and then you will be helped.

Just do it!

This understanding never came up from myself, God opened my eyes to sources that showed me how it works. Your tone of arrogance, on the other hand, sounds like leaning on your own strength and willpower.

Arrogance? Is that what people like you said to Noah? Just listen to yourself.

God didn't just order Noah to build a ship - which was the first one in human history, he provided specification and instruction in details. Same to Moses and Joshua. In the Church Age, the Holy Spirit will direct you to seek and find such details of your calling. He didn't tell you "just do it". He didn't tell me to check my brain at the cover when I pick up the bible to read His words.

You are hard to understand.
Noah preached to repent of sins and people went against him, not unlike people go against me.

None of that was recorded in Gen. 6. God had determined to wipe out the entire earth with the Flood, only Noah and his family were spared to preserve the human race. There was no preaching at that time to save anybody else's soul, because they were already corrupted on a genetic level as the fallen angels, aka "sons of God" were breeding giants with human.

You are hard to understand.
Then try to understand this, that what God told to Noah was many firsts in history at that point - first flood, first ship, first rain, first judgement, none of those ever existed in the pre-Flood world, there was no precedent for Noah to study, you think God didn't put that into consideration? Therefore God gave Noah detailed instruction about how to build this thing called the Ark. He never said "just do it". He always explained the how and the why besides the what.
