Demons

wow...o_O personally, I'd be a bit concerned about staring Satan in the face..then again all we have to say is "You have no power here! Be gone in the name of the Lord." if we feel his evil presence around us. My mom used to be involved heavily in the occult (before I was born) and after she went away from it, she sometimes felt Satan's presence tempting her to go back.

Great stuff,:thumbs_up This is what we need to be taught as many believers dont think is vital but on the contrary it is very important.
'My people perish due to lack of knowledge.'
God continue to bless you Chad.

Yes, we certainly shouldn't dwell in learning about demons as that would be dangerous and unhealthy. But we also shouldn't be scared of them. Through Christ, we have authority to cast demons out of people or places. However, sometimes someone may not be able to due to a lack of faith. We have to know that we have the authority (although it is a good idea to memorize scriptures to have some backup); but a demon may try to resist. We just go "Be gone now in the name of Jesus! You have no more power over this person!"

It's not a good idea, though, to want to cast demons out. However, the Lord may need you to if the situation arises; so always have your armor on and weapon ready. Always be ready to step into the enemy's territory to reclaim it for Christ. It's alright to pray for a demon or evil spirit to be cast out or have their influence removed, but the Lord may tell you to go directly to the person and pray over them for the evil to leave.

Too often do people get the idea that you have to be "certified" or have to take a class to be authorized to cast out demons. Hello?! We as the body of Christ already have that authority. But of course we shouldn't try to if we don't have some verses memorized to battle the demon or evil spirit (this is only needed if the person is actually possessed; where the demon's taken control of them). If you aren't fully equipped, a demon could easily deceive you. Without the wisdom we receive from God, a demon's deceptions could easily destroy someone. However, if we just simply feel like the demon's winning, we can just call out to God and He'll back us up :) Sometimes the Lord may even speak through us.

When casting demons out or away

We must always remember that, through Christ, we have authority over evil, and the demons MUST flee when we command them to do so in the Name of Jesus. However, Scriptures also caution us that we must immediately seek to fill the vacated spot with God The Holy Spirit. If we do not, the Bible says the demon will bring seven of his friends, and the person will in much worse condition than when we began.

Demons cannot possess a believer. They can OPPRESS, but they cannot co-habitate with the Spirit of God, and therefore they cannot POSSESS a believer. The way to minimize and make them ineffectual? Be Filled With God The Holy Spirit.

Jbpichu, I disagree with what you said ealier that we shouldn't be taught about demons coz they are dangerous and unhealthy.....You also said its not a good idea to cast demons out...On the contrary we NEED that knowledge and practice it (depending on your faith and relationship with God) because we've been given authority to do so, further more we need to follow Jesus steps, thats why we are christians....Christ like.

Let me refer you to Col.2.10-"..and YOU have been given FULLNESS in christ, who is the head over EVERY Power and Authority. " and the same bible teaches "You are complete in Christ Jesus..." This means that ALL the power and authority Jesus has, it has been invested in US, so what Jesus did we are able to do that , this includes the casting of demons as well.

Its apon us to raise that standard up by having a good relationship with God,obeying His word, Praying always etc. If the same spirit that raised up christ dwells in me, then am able through God's grace to fulfill God's mission on this planet.

Brother jbpichu, you really should study Scripture carefully. The Bible teaches us that we must cast out demons in Jesus' name and the demons must flee. There were examples of this happening specially in the Gospels. Jesus cast out demons and commanded his disciples to do the same.

We must certainly teach about demons too. Why? Because as I mentioned above, in order to understand what GOD says about anything that we must or must not do, we must look in the Bible for those answers. Jesus *taught* His disciples and we must do the same. Therefore, we must teach everything mentioned within the Bible. It would be wrong to omit anything from the Word in our teachings and corrections.

Thank you for that. I am a bit older now. I understand now that we must learn and be prepared. I do thank you for what you both said. I'm not a year old yet, but I am some months older and understand better. I'm learning! :)

The power of demons

Satan is a created being, and therefore can only be one place at a time. That's why he has MANY servants (demons). Their job is to seduce believers away from God.

If you are afraid of them, or attribute them (or their lord) as having more power than they actually have, they will use that. If you have God the Holy Spirit in you, they are terrified of you. They should be! For you have been given the authority, by your relationship with God through Jesus Christ, to not only resist them, but cast them away. Our friend from Japan was right in that it doesn't take some "certification" to battle evil.

In the book of Acts however, there were seven brothers (the sons of Sceva) who had witnessed Paul casting out demons in the Name of Jesus. When they tried it, declaring the demons leave in the name of jesus that Paul preached, the demons replied: "Jesus, we know, and Paul, we know; but who are you?" The demons then attacked and destroyed the brothers. What these men lacked was the authority to act in the Name of someone they did not personally know. The Name of Jesus is not some magical mantra that just anyone can wield to make things happen. It is the gift of great power given to those who know Jesus personally. That is the only requirement to command the demons.

If you don't have that personal relationship and are not filled with the Holy Ghost, you should NEVER attempt confronting demons. You are unarmed and have no authority against them.

I agree that the Body of Christ needs sound knowledge about our enemy. Hollywood makes him and his hordes seem far more powerful than they actually are.

I love the true story from the life of Smith Wigglesworth, a great man of God. One night, he heard loud crashing downstairs in his home, waking him. He went downstairs to see what was happening, expecting to find a robber. The intruder he came face-to-face with was not a demon, but Satan himself, standing there in Wigglesworth's living room. Satan had been ransacking the place, trying to disturb and terrify Smith. Smith Wigglesworth looked at the beautiful creature standing before him (remember that Lucifer was the most beautiful angel God had created, and the Bible does not say anything about his appearance changing. He appears as "an angel of light") and said, "Oh, its just you" and went back to bed. If we don't let evil intimidate us, then it can't. If we not only declare his impotence, but truly believe it, then the devil has no power over us at all.

Just one more comment: We should carry Scripture in our hearts and minds, ready in an instant to answer temptation with the Word. Its what our Lord did when He was tempted in the wilderness.

Be encouraged and do not fear!

what if the demon or demons were born in a baby? an made to be the person. can the kid forever lose himself and never be real? idk. i proly dont make sense. i jus need to no if demon being in me forever if theres others wanting it to be like that?

Demons Huh?

One day back in 1982 I was walking home from work up suffolk avenue in central islip NY. As I was walking great fear of anxiety grabbed a hold of me in unbelievable terms. I could not understand it. I did nothing wrong nor was I thinking of anything wrong. I was walking for about a mile to my home. While I was walking a sense of peace was filling my heart which pushed out the anxiety fear. As I reached my house where I lived a woman was out in front asking me if my wife was home. The only thing is that she was asking me it in the most strangest voice ever I heard. But my thoughts was on the peace that the Lord was filling me up with. I said, "No she not home but if you like you can wait for her" She said no, still in the most strangest voice I ever heard and left. A month went by and someone I knew asked me "Hey did you talked with that certain woman"? I said yes. He said did you know that she is demon possessed? I said whether or not she was demon possesed I do not know but all I know is God almighty had me in the palm of his hands making sure that no evil could come up against me!!!! We are more than victorious when our trust is in the Lord and in the power of his might!
I add in the fact even in our disgrace for the Lords name NO devil or Demon has any right in our thoughts. I write this because most of us are not perfect in our strength. Only in the strength of the Lords might are we victorious! WE ARE IN THE LORDS ARMY NOW AND FOR ALWAYS!! Acknowledge that in your relationship to him!

Demons and Healing!

Chad..great writing!!Everything you said was rt.on..My Pastor has found the key to complete deliverance..hes been studying with a deliverance ministry that works!!The reason it works is first the inner healing of unforgiveness, anger etc...is addressed then the demon or whatever is still there is cast out!!If the person just gets demons cast out and the emotional issue has not been addressed then thats when the demon still has legal rights to come back in!!there is something called "Fragmented soul"or Dis-association also which is from the person having many personalites that need to be addressed..then deliverance!!It all seems so complicated to me..wish it was easier as for Jesus the demons came out and stayed out!!But nowadays people hold onto things...there these many fragments of a persons soul that gets seperated from emotional abuse..so it seems quite different nowadays!!People need inner healing and then deliverance most of the time to stay clean. With this method..it seems to work!!My Pastor has done deliverance for many yrs and he seems to think this is the key!!Hes very excited about doing deliverance now for all who need it!!Hes even going to teach a workshop for the leaders and get everyone "cleaned up"!!Praise the Lord!!Well GBU Chad again good writing!!Love,Sister!!

That was a very well-researched 'essay', if you will. I found it very interesting.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here had any experience with the practical application of this biblical teaching? "Exorcism", praying, physical side-effects/healings, etc? I've had some experience with prayer ministry and the casting out of demons, but I'm wondering if anyone else has.

I don't remember reading the OP but I have had some experiences with demonic spirits and some christians probably think I am a devil.

I totally reject that a born-again Christian can be possessed by a devil. The devil can certainly tempt us but never possess us.

1Jn 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Christians can have demons. I've seen it time and time again. They may be nominal, barely-there Christians, but...that's the way the enemy likes it...satan's bondages keep the person from becoming a strong Christian or a witness to others.

I have been active in inner healing and deliverance, but I am new to it. We started at a church in January 2010 and I've had the opportunities to learn and take part in this with some people who are very, very dear to me.

We should not judge those who have demons. The person does not ask for them to come in and usually does not know that he has a demon(s) God expects Christians to help other Christians, whether it is with finances, a need for listening and compassion, a need for a new roof, or spiritual/emotional need.

I love Jesus, and when God gives me opportunity, I will minister to those who need inner healing and deliverance. It's what Jesus does.

Aw, jiggyfly, I don't think you're a devil. You've got waaaaaaay to much Jesus in you! You're just a little mischievous in a wholesome kind of way

Jigger

Jigger ol' boot. You know that nobody thinks you are a demon. You are way too full of the Holy Spirit. Your love for our Jesus is a real inspiration.
