Jiggyfly:

A spiritually Mature only forum would be great!!! Now who post here that would have enough spiritual sense to know they should not be treading in the Spiritually mature section only?

Certain people Moderator considered? After a many number of post?

Jesus Is Lord.

Sorry Mike I am having some trouble understanding things lately, I think it's my meds ( I couldn't remember my zip code yesterday). Can you please elaborate so I can understand your questions?

Zip Codes, Addresses.

Well, don't feel bad Brother, was at UPS yesterday mailing off some tax forms and when it came to my street number I boldly wrote down our Old address. The wife asked what I wrote, and I told her. She informed me that was the Old address.

Now, I knew our new address, Though I could not remember it at the time.

It may not be the Meds brother.

Mature Forum:

If we made a Mature Forum, what person here would stop and think "OH, I should not post there, I am not mature spiritually."

It seems most think they have already arrived with full and perfect knowledge.

Now the few of us that realize we like Paul just know parts of things, see the realm of the spirit and God's operation through a glass darkly, only seeing outlines and shapes.

The actual spiritual ones Would know better than to post in the Spiritually mature section.

Just a thought.

Jesus Is Lord.

OK gotcha and I agree It could be set up kinda like the Mod forum which is invisible to the general forum and access could be by invitation only. Just now thinking it could even be a good place to pick future mods from the participants.

Future Mod's

Now that sounds like a very good idea. By invitation only. We could bring up a Candidates name and all vote or give input.

Awesome Jiggyfly!!!

jiggyfly;
I wish we had a specific forum for the more spiritually mature for discussions on topics which generally cause a rash of trouble in the open forums.

Oh no!!!!

I have come across Christian forums that have inner private sanctuarys for those deemed 'spritually mature' or 'of a suitable character to enter'. The outer circles are generally seen as being for 'lesser Christians'....

What pious places those forums are....

Who would judge a persons spiritual maturity here at Talk Jesus?

For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
1 Corinthians 4:7

A litle Spurgeon......well worth reading the whole sermon.

Pride and self-conceit had led the members of the church in Corinth to choose for themselves distinct leaders, and to arrange them selves under separate banners: the followers of this man thinking themselves better than the followers of that.
Thus the body of Christ was divided, and all sorts of ill feeling, jealousy, emulation and envy sprang up in the church of God where all ought to have been mutual helpfulness and loving unity. Paul therefore earnestly, and with great wisdom, assailed the spirit of pride...

.....Let us remember, too, that whensoever we prize ourselves highly we are sure to esteem our Lord less

From CH Spurgeon Pride Cathechized and Condemned

I would agree with that, FragrantG. Seems a bit like spiritual elitism to me, which is far too prevalent amongst many denominations already.

Sorry Philospher and Fragrant Grace did not mean to offend anyone. Just trying to protect those that are younger in the Lord and not lay out a stumbling block for 'em. But you both can rest easy it was already decided against by the admin and other mods. Again I apologize for offending anyone.

No worries jiggyfly; I wasn't offended by the idea, it just wasn't preferable in my opinion. However, if the forum altogether decided it was ok, it wouldn't bother me much. Just stating my own, rather insignificant opinion.:shade:

Thank you for your reply jiggyfly.
Not offended in anyway....was just somewhat concerned.

May the Lord continue to bless Talk Jesus and all its staff and members here.....that His name be lifted up and all be done to the Lord's glory.

Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Acts 10:24

I see jiggyfly`s concern and actually agree with his suggestion.

There is nothing elitist or pious about acknowledging the different levels of growth and maturity in the body of Christ, or Paul was proud, self conceited, and divisive.

Heb 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food,
Heb 5:13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child.
Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Will it be said I have respect of persons if I "discern" that a brother or sister is choking on meat, and should thus only be fed milk until they have grown-up some, and do something about it? Am I not caring for their souls if I withhold meat until they are ready for it? (Think new- born baby if you will) Is my own ability to refrain from spewing everything I know into the hungry open mouth of a child of God not evidence of the Spirits humility and restraint in me?

Has the worldly political correctness entered the church to such a degree that I can not speak frankly and directly to "You", whomever that may be, without the worldly cry of "Who do you think you are?"

Come on Church.

ummm.

I see jiggyfly`s concern and actually agree with his suggestion.

I see something good in this, I just think like a lot of direction the Holy Spirit may be giving us, we don't always get the exact thing right away, but as always, walking by faith we head in that general direction not discounting the leading.

We try to attempt to add in what we did not hear yet, so the first plans are part Holy Spirit and part wrong being us.

Jesus Is Lord.

I like the idea of Talk Jesus always seeking to improve, update, grow, etc. but I would need more specifics on exactly what an "adult discussion room" actually entailed before I formed a definite opinion about it.

But for now I think the sex issue should be kept in the current rooms available for that, like the Men's Forum, for example, where there are a plethora of sex topics by people that love to talk about sex.
I wouldn't want to have to search through a sea of sex posts to try find an interesting biblically-mature discussion in this proposed new forum.

And the subject of sex demands a level of maturity - how would that be enforced for posters?
