I am trying to post a poll here...hope it works!

i am wondering how many of you hear gods voice and if so how!

The most common way God speaks to us is thru His Word. But also when the Spirit of the Lord speaks to our heart it is like an inner witness. We just know inside it is Him because it is according to His Word. If the Spirit of God impresses you to do something or speaks somethng to you it will never never contradict what the Bible says. That is our safe guard, and how we know it is God. He tells us His will in His Word - its a love letter from Him to us.

God Does Speak

it depends.... God has different ways og speaking to people, Some times it might be an inner voice like your concience for some times you can actually hear Gods Voice just like you would hear anyone else, God also speaks through his word The bible. God even speaks through other people, Prophesy through the means of his Holy spirit, even nature, somtimes you can hear it clearly somtimes you have to listen, its not always words.

I hear GOD but not like your or my voice. It is somewhat like a thought but I know its HIM. I can tell when HE is speaking to me. Its different from my thoughts that the best way I can describe it.

Mostly through His word...the Bible. He'll confirm different verses over and over. I'll either read it, hear it from someone, different ways. I've also heard the Holy Spirit, like someone speaking in my mind, but...so clear, and to the point. When you hear it, you just know it's God. No way you can deny it.

God does in fact communicate in different ways at different times in Bible. Just as is indicated in the Old and New Testaments. Sometimes in prayer as with the prophet Danial, sometimes audibly as with Moses, even very forcibly as with the apostle Paul. Sometimes He may speak through other people to you, etc.

My pastor had an audible instruction from Jesus. My pastor was given a verbal instuction to become a pastor from Jesus. But, this occurred only once. This pastor was not keen on the idea, perhaps that is why. So I know that God uses various means at various times.

It would be rather restrictive and nieve to think that God can only communicate through the Word.

God speaks to me through impressions implanted on my heart (Choice #2). They come either as thoughts that have force behind them like bullets hitting their target or as instructions to do or say things that I wouldn'nt normally be comfortable doing or saying; ideas that I cannot chase out of my head.

i am wondering how many of you hear gods voice and if so how!

I've been a believer for almost 28 years now. There have been periods where I have heard God's voice clearly and would have been walking in disobedience to ignore it. There have been other times when I would have given my left lung to hear God's voice and couldn't. I go through seasons like that.

I think it helps to be quiet and to take time to really get away and listen.

I didn't answer with the poll because my answer is the first two and then in other ways not listed.

Once, I heard God say my name...not in a booming voice, but in a whisper...almost like a breeze of wind...but did not heed it. *sigh* But I know now...

Sometimes it is just a nudging to do something.

Either way...it isn't how He speaks, but what WE do with it.

God works through us now. This was the plan since Abraham.

What do you mean by true voice?

How can you say that God doesn't speak through his true voice? His true voice is whatever he wants it to be.

Don't limit what he can do. I'm sure he DOES talk with HIS TRUE VOICE, but we don't always hear him. We are too busy doing other things or saying he doesn't do it anymore.

Personally, I'm not asking for His voice, but to see His face. I'm not asking for a sign and wonder, but to know Him more.

We have to hear God's voice to speak His Word and to speak what He says to speak. We can't do this if we don't hear His 'true voice.'

You should have has one more answer to this question on your Poll. The Word speaks as well to us,and Jesus is the Word.( John 1:1) I can only speak for myself,I have heard the voice of God audible twice in my life,both times to wake me from sleep.I looked to see who it was that called my name,but no one was around anywhere near me. Both times i was in the hospital with heart problems. Most of time, when one prays, she or he,has something inside them,which to me is the Holy Spirit,leading ones mind in a direction or another,in what they are praying.I have found in my own life,that the more time one does spend with the Lord in prayer,the better the leading.I have been both right and wrong in the leading I have had,a number of tests in the leading as well occurs in ones life. why? to let oneself know whether they will draw nearer or farther away from the Lord.When I am wrong,it is not the Lord who is in me,but rather my interuptation of what he is saying to my Spirit.When I am right,it is not I who am right,but rather the Lord has succedded in getting through to my flesh.In my 57 years of life,there is one point of my Spirit being I do know for certain,that is, I always need the Lord in my life,it matters not how I feel or act,it is so, never the less for me.I always look to confirm words spoken to me through the Word of God,even then, I have been wrong.LOVE in us, is our balance in Jesus,it is how I tell much about what I am able to recieve, or not recieve.So when I am wrong,I work very hard on love,for without love,I know I can never be in tune with him.I have never had a vision,I have never talked to Jesus or ever seen him one on one,except once,upon my salvation.Jesu his face. It was draped in a white garment,and when he looked at me with eyes of fire,i melted under his love.Touched by God? quite a few times in my life yes,I have seen Jesus do many wonderful healing in my lifetime.And what I will never ever forget again as long as I live,is to always remain humble in him.I share no glory in our Jesus,nor in his wonderful works of love I have seen him do! Only one action I can share with him.His love for others.In this i am so blessed to share.

We are His voice. Jesus states so. Jesus was his voice. A voice is something you hear.
