They're not getting away with anything.
The rest of us, Christians and Conservatives rarely call someone a racist or bigot unless it applies by definition. Per my examples, my preferences in a woman are not racist though some might make that an excuse. Truth is people are attracted to those who are similar to them.
I'm a white male, brown hair blue eyes and have always found white, blonde woman to be the most attractive. Regarding the people I keep, it isn't about appearance so much as it is personal merit.
My closest friends: One is gay and atheist/agnostic, another is Catholic as is his sister, his brother isn't Catholic, and I'm in a Limbo where I fall and have no church.
God has taught me how not hate so easily. I hate actions and beliefs of people not the persons entirely. Trust me, it has been a very hard journey in this and is ongoing even when you get to that realization.
Just b/c a lot of people are doing something or supporting something so evil and disgusting never means it is good, normal, or accepted.

Dear Brother,
Limbo doesn't exist right? :)

We/You/Me/Others who are Believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior are the Body of Christ and are the church. If you 2 or more in His name, guess what? There He is. I mean besides the fact that we abide in Him, and He in us. I've had Church in a parking lot with a couple of other believers after work. Praising, Worshiping, Praying while people were getting in their cars and leaving to go home. We could have been all night, but then thoughts of our spouses, families and joyfully we'd end in prayer, hug, and go home!

In reading what you've wrote above, you remind me of hate the sin love the sinner words that many use to describe their view of humanity and treatment of individuals. Our Lord came for the Sinner, not the ones who sees themselves as righteous, and doing no wrong. What did He say "I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent." Luke 5:32 NLT

I don't know where you live to say check out this church or that one, which you may have already done. Still, it is good to have fellowship with other believers, even if you don't church with them. I guess in a way you can count us here at Talk Jesus as being that for you :) Still, church isn't necessarily about self, but at times about others who are not only your brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus, but those who walk through those doors, who seek, in many ways, they know not what. Most times, it won't be the preacher/pastor who has them coming back, but rather the people in the pews who are believers and are representatives of Jesus, and the Kingdom of God. In many churches this welcoming of the stranger is foreign. Some maybe for the sake of not being pushy, but mostly because they see that as somebody else's job! Sad, but true.

Here's a song that's been out a while. Don't know if it's your genre preference, but how this vid was put together roughly makes a point that the song's words are trying to communicate.

I truly hope that a church will find its way to you, and that your witness to your closest friends is powerful, and with the Love of Christ Jesus! That they may see the very Love that made His sacrifice through you. Instead of the prejudices, judgmental behavior towards sinners that is all too common in the churches of this day and age and that drive many away...

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

  • No. If something exists in Limbo then it's not Limbo anymore.
  • My last mistake with a church was seeking out a "non-denominational" and I've learned that outside of the church, it/they don't answer to anyone. If churches can act independently and as we see how most have made their own Hippie Jesus then I want no part of them.
  • I have 2 good friend from that church and they left after I did. 2 is better than none.
  • 99% of Christian music is horrible. Repetitive lyrics. Repetitive music. Lyrics are like 6 lines and then the SAME chorus and lines over and over and over and over.
  • Too many people want the Hippie Jesus. The fake that as Joel Osteen Snake says "Accepts you just as you are."

Greetings all,

has anyone any Scripture you can share about being one, please?

Bless you as you reply ....><>

Dear Brother, @MedicBravo
Always in the grey. Jesus was a lot of things to a lot of people. He pulled from all walks of life, beliefs, political persuasions and I'm sure you can even include some hippies! :) I mean everything from Godspell, to Jesus Christ Superstar, His message of how great His love is will get out.

Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: " 'Blessed [is] the King who comes in the name of the LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." 40 But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out." Luke 19:37-40 NKJV

On music I've come to find out that "to each his own" is what can communicate a message that can be convicting, or uplifting can be helpful. I've enjoyed all manner of genre in music, though I'm what someone would probably call "tone deaf", and with my Tinnitus makes it even worse for listening of music or anything for that matter!!! :) Still, I do understand what you're saying. There is a little brother in Christ Jesus in a church I go to, that had a background of Rap Music. I used to give him rides home (Special Olympics participant) (Almost totally blind.). Anyway while cleaning up in the kitchen he told me that people had been on him because of the music he listened to (Rap). I had a talk with him, in which he stomped away mad. A long story short, we made up and I decided to see if I could find some Christian Rap out in music land, and guess what? I found some, which I downloaded and made some CD's for him. I tried to listen to it, but except for some lyrics that said "we're going to bomb the devil" and the like, it was not my cup of tea. Still, he appreciated it, and to me that's what counts.

Agree with your last comment, but though I will say that maybe a solid Scripture based voice next to them, might help.

Note: By the way, if you could use the @ sign next to a person's name you're responding to, might help get their attention that your comments are being directed to them. Either that or when you quote something they've written, that will be done automatically. Thanks. (See above opening in red).

I think I've diverted this thread enough! Apologies Brother!

The saying "accepts you just as you are" is denying the truth that Jesus came to save sinners from their sins to be more like Him. Sinners can come to Him as sinners with the hope that Jesus will deliver them from their sins as well as have eternal life for believing in Him.

Dear Brother,
Are you saying he cleans you up before accepting you?

Just asking because I know what you're saying but I've never taken that phrase as meaning what you believe it to mean. Now some may take it the way you do, and many do that they can stay the sinner they've always been without repentance, but when haven't those enmeshed in sin taken something clearly spoken and twisted it to mean something else that allows them to stay in their sin?

So, I don't believe the saying of "accepts you just as you are" quite means exactly what you're attributing it to mean. It was just twisted by some to mean something else, and usually by those who believe in works verses grace and the sinner wanting to still live the life they were living before coming to Christ Jesus.

I was referring to MedicBravo's comment below inferring that sinners as saved believers, remain in their sins, at least that was the impression from his comment to me was about.

As for "when" He cleans us up, Jesus Christ cleans you up at salvation when He baptizes you with the Holy Ghost.

Titus 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Sinners walk away from Jesus thinking it is their job to clean themselves up before coming to Jesus Christ when the call is given to repent from sins first before Jesus can save them.

The truth is sinners need to know that Jesus can deliver them from their sins to no longer live in them and so they can come to Him with their sins for deliverance from those sins to no longer live in them by looking to the author & finisher of our faith daily to help us lay aside every weight & sin in walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son.

Some sinners notice the deliverance right away at their salvation while others need to look to Him daily to keep them from those sins while living that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ, walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son..

I know who you were referring to, and I still stand on my reply to your comments on the saying, as shown above, because there was no inferring in what you wrote. Unless like I said you believe in works over grace.

Agree with the rest of what you wrote.

I suppose when one does not take in account as to who I am replying to for why I am referring to that saying as being of Joel Osteen as if it is okay to live as a sinner, I suppose my comment in and of itself can be confusing and it is contrary. Sorry for the confusion. Definitely clarity was needed.
