Man was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, as was Jesus. The angels do not comprehend death they are spirits. It is because we have been made, for a while, a little lower than the angels that the promise to us is a heavenly body that is above the angels. Jesus was the first to complete this process and procalimed to be a God (the reward) at his glorification which I laid out within a couple of hours when that took place using John 20:1-22. There will not be many that do the same during this first death. Gods will. There is a simple fact that seems to escape most and that is that going to heaven is not the destination. It is existing in the Kingdom of God as a Child (son) of God that Is a God. After all Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom, but Gods children can. And if God be their Father then according to the law of the seed they must grow up to be just like him. This is what Jesus did and therefore became the first showing the rest of us the WAY.
When he said I am the truth , the way, and the life. He fulfilled the WAY part by showing us the final destination at his glorification, the truth is simply this is the plan or word of God for you. the life comes in when you receive the Holy Ghost from him, which he could not give to any man until after his glorification according to John 7:39 .....For the Holy Ghost was not yet given: because that Jesus was not yet glorified." John 7:16 "Jesus answered them, and said, MY DOCTRINE IS NOT MINE BUT HIS THAT SENT ME". Meaning it wasn't his own but rather it was his Fathers. This simple truth of the GOSPEL OF GOD is hidden in plain sight within the Bible, but we read right past it because we get caught up with a few verses that get us off course from being able to see it. I for one cannot for the life of me see why people are so upset that God would do such a thing as this for his children. This is why he went through the trouble of creating everything we see, touch, feel, love, etc....For MATURITYS SAKE. This truly is the best news anyone could ever tell you, but because of unbelief or lack of faith it will not be obtained by most during the first death.
Meant for edification of those that can receive this.
I would add that every time an Angel showed up on earth it appears as a man. Those angels that had relations with the daughters of men and created the giants must indeed look like men or I don't think the women would have laid with them. Just guessing. But always made me wonder why we jumped to (He must be talking about Jesus and himself) when he says "Let US make man in our image" does any body have scripture that actually defines the US in that verse as I have not found it in plain black and white or red and white letters?

Please explain. I'm not seeing judging angels as something that an entity below an angel could do, but rather an entity above an angel cloud do.
Jesus Is Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Mankind / us / will Always be a little lower than the angels. Actually, the angelic world is not talked about all that much. In the Old Testament, yes.
Why would angels Not comprehend death. There Are guardian angels that protect believers.
Jesus Christ is Not 'a God' -- He Is part of the Godhead.
God's children are born-again believers. Thus 'we' Do inherit eternal life in heaven / the future New Jerusalem. Non-believers inherit life in the future lake of fire and brimstone.
Actually, God's gift of salvation is very easy to read / understand / accept. Nothing hidden about it.

The angels as spirits do not die therefore they do not fear death as man does. Therefore they want to inquire into what God is doing with man for they do not understand. I know your bible says the same.

Can a JOINT-HEIR with Christ be less than Christ? Yes, but only because he is the younger brother. An heir of God can only receive what God has declared that they should receive. And you cannot be an HEIR unless you are related. Jesus says that those who overcome he will grant to sit in his throne as he overcame and has sit down with the Father in his throne. It appears to be the same throne to me. Can a non God sit in the throne of God?

The men of Ninevah will not be found written in the book of life for they never receive the Holy Ghost from Jesus they all died outside the New testament, so indeed they will judge the generation Jesus speaks of but only to the point of their unbelief or lack of faith. That said no man come to Jesus unless God gives him the Faith to believe.
Have you given much thought to Judging UNCLEAN SPIRITS as a possibility?
I think you're confusing angels with the Holy Spirit.
Actually -- it's the Gospel unto salvation. And isn't the "Kingdom of God = to ' those going to heaven'.
He told the disciples that it was to their advantage that He ascend back up to heaven so that the Holy Spirit could come. It up that point , Jesus Christ could only be in one place at a time. But the Holy Spirit would be able to be with each individual believer all the time.
Jesus Christ was Always part of the Godhead. He was simply 'here' as the God/man for those 33 years.
But 'we' Don't know what angels do or do not understand. And it doesn't matter.
Your Bible/ My Bible -- aren't they the Same Bible.
It was no reward -- it's just the way the Godhead works.
He knew who we were and we can know who He is. That's no mystery.
Jesus Christ Didn't receive life from the Father -- the three parts of the Godhead are Eternal. But, the Father Did raise Jesus Christ His Son from the dead. That proved to the world, that He / Jesus Christ/ Was really the Son of God.

Man was made a little lower than the angels, but when God crowned man with glory, and honor that placed him over the angels! That is why the last part of this verse says......"did set him over the works of thy hands: " All angels are the works of God's hands.

Psa 8:4 "What is MAN that thou art mindful of him?.........."
Psa 8:5 "For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor." Mans beginning and mans end as seen by David.
Heb 2:9 "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."
Heb 2:9 compared to Psalms 8:4-5 shows how man was made a little lower than the angels and so was was Jesus, then tells us that he was crowned with glory and honor
this would have to be at his glorification. And psalms 8:5 says the same thing about man.
I would agree with you Sue that mankind will always be a little lower than the Angels, but the New creatures that God calls his children and often sons will not be, as they are born of the Father, not created by the Father.

The qualifying requirement here in this verse is, "them that believe" not any specific group of people.
Angels (who, among themselves, don't marry) have hormones, that produce in them sexual desire? For humans?
