Let's share a testimony of praise and thanks daily

I was praying today, asking God about something going on in my life. And, then I told my husband what was going on inside my head. And, then I read a blog post by someone who posts a verse for the month, and the verse was this one:

John 13:07, “Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

It was so perfect! God spoke to me directly through this passage of scripture to answer my question. And, it encouraged my heart. So, I thank him and praise him for answered prayer, and that he quickly responded to my heart's question. It really helped! So, I posted this scripture on my computer so that I can see it every day and be reminded that God is working, even though I can't see what he is doing, and that one day I will understand why things are happening the way that they are, even though I can't see now. Reading this gave me peace.

The past 3 weeks we spent in SC with our kids and our grandkids, after our daughter had her baby. We helped out with the kids and Rick helped with projects or repairs in various homes or yards, and he helped me with kids, too. I am very thankful for my family of 24 now (10 adults and 14 children), and for the time we had with them, and for the new baby Silas, our 14th grandchild. I am also grateful that our oldest son and daughter-in-law were gracious enough to allow us to stay with them the 3 weeks we were there. We had a great time visiting with all of them.

But, I am also thankful for our own place. There is just no place like our own home. It is small, but it is all we need. It is nice to go visit the kids, but it is nice to be back in our own place. So, I am thankful for our little apartment that God has provided for us, for a roof over our heads, a bed to sleep in at night, a sofa to sit on during the daytime, and warm heat during the cold outside. Although this is temporary, and heaven is my eternal home, I am thankful I have such a nice place to live, at least for now.

Lord I am thankful to know you and to be able to look at my life now and look back and get my mind absolutely blown away by the changes you have made in my heart, and the new eyes have given me to see with. evidence like this just continues to help my faith grow and grow and put my trust in my father God thank you Jesus !!

I am blessed to be able to plant some small plants I grew inside from seed today. I pray that God help them grow, they are wild lettuce, good for homeopathic medicinal needs. Also cranked up the mower to mow some (first time since early fall last year) and my wife asked me to let her do the mowing, she loves it. So I let her and went on to do some other minor maintenance needing done. Praise God for a fruitful day!

Today I woke up feeling rather despondent about myself
Bad mummy....Bad wife....Bad neighbour etc etc

I so thank the Lord for the blessing of Talk Jesus and my time here each morning.
A number of posts and pm's really spoke to my heart and reminded me of the Lord's goodness. Gloom turns to joy when we consider Jesus and His love

Praise the Lord!

The Lord Jesus put this hymn in my mind today to speak encouragement to my heart:

Be Still, My Soul
Katharina von Schlegel / Jean Sibelius

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heav’nly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hast’ning on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise
On earth, believing, to Thy Lord on high;
Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways,
So shall He view thee with a well-pleased eye.
Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine
Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

Hello there,

I have nearly 70 years of life to thank the Lord for, and 58 of those years have been lived with the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord.

My very life-breath is given by God, each day I wake to another miracle, another breath drawn, of air that God made to be just perfect for me, and as I walk around with my feet on the ground I can thank Him for the earth's gravity that is strong enough to keep me firmly planted, but enables movement to go unhindered. So I thank Him for my daily life, the miracle that it is, and for the knowledge of Himself that gives it purpose.

I am thankful for the retrospective vista that age brings, and the knowledge that, in Christ Jesus, my life span is not for this life only. Having reached my threescore years and ten this year, I need not fear the end of my life, which is inevitable, but can rest in the knowledge that in God's estimation, I have died with Christ, and my life is now hid with Christ, in Him, never to be separated, and when the day arrives when Christ, my Saviour, Lord and Head appears in glory, I, along with all the other members of the Church which is His Body who sleep in Him, will appear there with Him, in resurrection glory.

Praise His Holy Name!

In Christ Jesus
Chris

Thank you and praise to you Jesus I love you with all my heart and might and soul

Amen brother @Dave M

It is so lovely to hear the Lord's being praised.

Lets hear more praise here on Talk Jesus
.

“Mine is an unchanging love,
Higher than the heights above,
Deeper than the depths beneath,
Free and faithful, strong as death.

Lord, it is my chief complaint
That my love is weak and faint;
Yet I love Thee, and adore:
O for grace to love Thee more!*

Yea I have loved thee with an everlasting love
Jeremiah 31:3

I am thankful for the growth of new life in the plants I tend around the house, Every spring, after the close of winter, the Lord brings new life from the ground, whether it be for consumption, or for beauty!

Im feeling a little bit guilty for not posting on this thread for a while.....we all have so much to thank the Lord for moment by moment.

In my heart this morning are a couple of specific reasons to rejoice

Firstly, it is lovely to see brother @amadeus2 back here at Talk Jesus,
Praise the Lord
I know that people have missed you brother....so have I.

I also thank the Lord for the ever challenging subject matter here at Talk Jesus.
Even when topic may be difficult to digest or a subject is personally challenging......this is good as it directs us to the Bible......the word of the Lord never fails.

Praise the Lord

My entire Christian life (40+ years) I have confessed the Word of God over my family that God has given me every thing that pertains to life, and Godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) Even when I was homeless three times, with children. That was not a easy thing to do especially when all my physical senses were telling me the complete opposite.

The scripture says...

1Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

The scripture also says....

Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Seven months ago a man gave into my “bosom”. It was pressed down, shaken together, and running over. What I did with what this man gave me I bought a new home for my family, with cash!!! A brand new car, with cash!! I owe no man nothing except to love him.

Do you know what my family and I were doing as we were driving in our brand new car, to our new home?

We were “loving life, and seeing good days". Am I special? Nope, just a child of God who has faith in his God through his Word!!

Thank you for your kind words, dear sister. My wife and I move on with God. Our frail bodies at times falter, but while God has work for us to do, will He not provide us always with the means to accomplish His will including strength in our flesh?
Give God the glory!
