I was wondering what you all think of them? Do you think their wrong? I think, anywhere but your ears is wrong, but if you just peirce your ears, I think thats fine. I have two lobe peircings, and one cartalge peircing. Soon, I will be getting another cartallage peircing next to that one. Do you think thats wrong? I'm just curious.

hi there...
well i just got my ears peirced and i dont think its wrong to have a
peircing by your stomache but i dont really like it when i see girls and boys have peircings all over their face or so i mean that dont really look good for me...okay i guess nose is still okay but everything else i dont like...

god bless Kara

This is ICHTHUS with Aimz in her Account obviously Duh!!!

well me i dont personally have a MAJOR problem with Peircings i mean sure enuf i dont liek em but i am not goign to complain some where in the Bible though it does class it as Self Mutalation i look for it later and get back to you!!!

but i dont think it is that hiddiously Wrong!! just so long as your not goign overboard!!!

Love ICHTHUS!!!

I don't quiet think pericing is self mutalation, at least not your ears. Now, peircing your face and stuff, that just...ewww...I wouldn't get that done, but I don't consider that self mutalation...I know what that is, and I don't think peircing would fit in that column, but thats just my opinion.

In my humble opinion i think to remember the important thing is we are all Envoys of God.If anything was to detract from the message of good news be it peircings, excessive tattoos or our dress code then perhaps its not a great idea.

Christians are not to imitate the extravagance of those who deck themselves, wether in clothing or jewels, merely to attract admiration and attention to themselves. [Gal 5:26] ...being desirous of vainglory. The extensive wardrobe and jewelry of Hebrew women is suggested by the catalogue given in Isa 3:18-24: anklets, cauls, crescents, pendants, bracelets, mufflers, headtires, ankle chains, sashes, perfume-boxes, amulets, rings, nose-jewels, festival robes, mantles, shawls, satchels, hand-mirrors, fine linen, turbans, veils. (all which are fine in themselves) But the elaborateness of this ornamentation throws light on the apostle Peter's counsel to Christian women not to make their focus, the adorning of the external, and the putting on of showy apparel, but rather to have the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit.

As saints of God, then, holy and dearly loved, let your behaviour be marked by pity and mercy, kind feeling, a low opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, and a power of undergoing all things;(BBE)
Col 3:12

Hope this helps answer your question.

What about Bob?

Of all the posts...in all the forums...I think you just wrote the most notorious one of all! LOL! :omg:

I think Bob would have this to say: "What I'd really like to do, is put the greatness of this woman in perspective. I think that there 's only 3 names...Dr. Albert Schweitzer, ah, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, probably, and ... Peanut."

Leo Marvin move over! LOL

I know i can tend to abbreviate but you guys have taken it to another level!Sometimes if i dont reply to a post of yours it may be because i havent understood it?Sorry for being old.

Well, really the question is do you think they are wrong? Our bodies are supposed to be temples for God's Holy Spirit to dwell. Now, if you were the Holy Spirit, would you rather live in one with all those holes in it, that would confuse the lost and make them stumble, or live in a pure, holy, and clean temple that can be used to it's fullest extent.

To me, it is not a sin to get peircings, BUT, I do not agree with them. Last year, I had my tounge peirced, and I thought it was the greatest. Then I got into church, and I still had it. Well, my youth pastor asked me when I was going to take it out, and I asked him was it a sin to have it. He said no, but it is a sin to make others stumble in their walk with christ, and confuse the lost from eternity.

Ok look at it this way. Say you are a lost soul looking for more than a ride around the park. Your looking for eternal peace. You are approached by a person who starts talking about Jesus, and they are saying all the right things, and you are ready to give it all to God, but you can't make yourself believe what this person is saying because of all the tatoos, and earrings, and spikes through the nose, and all that stuff. They look like the world and every other person that you would normally hang with. What makes them so different?

It makes them take a step back and say "wait a minute? They are the one's who need Jesus! Not me!", and there you go. If I was to start singing in front of my church and I still had my tounge ring in, there would be a lot of people leaving.

Some ask, why do they judge you for whats on the outside instead of on the inside. They don't uderstand, and they wont because they are so used to seing people like that, they aren't going to listen to the same ole familiar song after so long.

They want serious people who are serious about spreading the Gospel. They've seen lukewarm Christians for too long now, it's time to get serious. And having all those peircings or just a few or maybe one besides earrings will confuse them on what's real.

I completely disagree with your Youth Pastor. "Then I got into church, and I still had it. Well, my youth pastor asked me when I was going to take it out, and I asked him was it a sin to have it. He said no, but it is a sin to make others stumble in their walk with christ, and confuse the lost from eternity." That translates into, no its not a sin, but I don`t like it, so no one else should. Also, I fail to see what a piercing has to do with causing anyone to stumble, or confusing the lost for eternity? That is sloppy theology at best. It is this kind of teaching that goes beyond what is written in the Word, that has caused so much confusion in the first place.

"And having all those peircings or just a few or maybe one besides earrings will confuse them on what's real." There is no basis in the Word for this "one is alright, two is wrong," sorry.

What makes them so different? Hopefully they have GOD on the inside,
and that is the only thing that makes any of us 'different'.
A pure, holy, and clean temple is one where the Spirit has taken up residence in the heart, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the number or lack of holes.

I think body piercing is ok as long as it is in the hands and feet (the flesh being nailed to the cross).

I think a more important question to ask is why does someone want to have their body pierced. Let's look at motive.

I think that that a big part of what makes it right or wrong on stuff like this with out a very clear deffinition is why you do it. If I were to feel like it and just go get the bridge of my nose peirced, and my eybrow, and my lip, because it was somehting that i wanted to do because I like the way it looked or something there's nothing wrong with that. If on the other hand I got mad at my dad who has a thing against guys getting any peircings at all, and thought to my self he's being a jerk i'm going to go rebal and upset him by doing this to my self it would deffinately be wrong, or if it was somehting that I felt was a sin, so it might put a block between me and God and I went and did it any ways.
I personally think that having peircings and tatoos can be an out reach tool for many of us, lets face it you guys people look down on us because they think that christians in generall are legalistic and no fun, and are going to yell about how they are goign to go to because of their tatoo/peircings. When some one who comes from that back ground see someone else who is living there life for God and has tatoo's and peircings, it's goign to make them feel like ok this is someone who I can relate to. When I had a mowhawk one of the reasons I got it in the first place was because i wanted to show peopel that a christian could be just as crazy as they are, and to show christians in my very legalistic small town that people with that kind of hair style could still love God, plus that I like them. Now If I was trying to witness to peopel who would deffinately have a hard time talking to me because I had a nose ring or whatever, I should out of respect for them take it out before i go to talk to them or not have one in the first place. I personally don't have any peircings or tatoo's I thought about getting my left ear done just for fun, but out of respect for my Dad wouldn't unless he said he was ok with it.

And again it's not that you are wrong, it's just I disagree with them. And, we all have our own opinions on this sort of topic, and I just gave mine. I believe that if I was to try to witness to any of my friends about God, and I still had my tounge ring in, they would not listen to me at all. The world puts such a bad meaning on those kinds of peircings, that's what they are going to think of when they see it. Not a Christian who has seen many things and has turned their life around. No matter how full of God they are, the world is still going to see that meaning for the peircing, and that will cause them to wonder. You get what I was trying to say? That's how my youth pastor explained it to me, and I am sorry if you disagree with him. But it is true, and it even says it in the Bible. I have read it honest, but I can't recall to where it is at the moment.

You get what I was saying? Hope this helped you a little on the confused part.
:thumbs_up
