Hmmm, I honestly like the book but not love it that I have to drawn myself to it... Some methods are not culturally suited and others are just secular ideas. But yes, I voted "yes" for it, though.

I still prefer my well-loved bible and let Holy Spirit alone guide and give me wisdom how to live with God's Word everyday

Purpose Driven what?

Purpose driven life. Can anyone tell me how can anyone have a purpose driven life without Jesus? Can anyone tell me?
Where does Rick tell us of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ who came down from heaven to earth as the Savior?
Where does Rick in his book tell us that Jesus died for our sin that we need to repent of it, where?
Where does Rick tell us in HIS purpose driven book about the wrath of Holy God in regard to sin?
I wish somebody tell me.
Is Rick trying to share with us how to have a purpose driven life without the Gospel?
I wish somebody tell me where the sinner is convicted of sin within the pages of this book of someone trying to have a purpose driven life..

So this book really don't tell you how to be saved.
Rick only says
1. Believe , page 58, God loves you and made you for his purposes.
2. Believe God has chosen you to have a relationship with Jesus, who died on the cross for you. Believe that no matter what you've done , God wants to forgive you.
3. Receive Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. Receive his forgiveness for your sins.
Then Rick goes on on a prayer which is totally UN-scriptural.
He does not even tell us what Jesus did? Not even the resurrection.

Whats missing in Ricks gospel?
The Key.
Repentance
judgement
hell or heaven
no discussion of sin and no self denial.
Not even that man has broken Gods laws. Our conscience bearing witness

Yes its already been written its called the true Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Presented clearly and concise. God can show you.
Being born again is exclusive in our response to the gospel. God is not inclusive to accept all because all is good.
Demons believe but the demons tremble at the word of God! Because that is really the only way to have a purpose driven life.

Sorry to have to tell you this, but you are misjudging what I say, as well as Rick Warren. I know what worship is and I participate fully in it. Holy Spirit reminded me of a wonderful truth and touched my heart in the chapter about worship.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is all throughout the book. Putting faith into action. Our salvation is based on faith in the person of Jesus Christ. The book is useful in generating that kind of saving faith.

It may not be your cup of tea, but it is definitely not deserving your your kind of denigration.

No one and no book apart from the finished work of Christ generates any saving faith. Only through the true gospel of ones response to it, crying out for mercy and then receiving the grace, can a man know God. Beware the yeast of the Pharisees.

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Anyone who does not preach Christ crucified for our sins and that conviction repentance heaven hell at least having a conscience that needs to be resolve through the atoning work of Christ while writing a book on a purpose driven life is leading a person astray no matter how much the man is loved.

Ophel please why is it your need to fight for a message in a mans book that's corrupt and not what God says in his word? I would think you would go after what God says in his word lovingly to us in preaching like for instance,
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

A individual must know he is lost before he can be saved so Ophel because of sin and that the remedy for sin is Christ. Anyone needs to know his sin offends God and that mercy from God is there for him to cry out for, being convicted, that the individual cries out for Gods Grace for a relationship to begin.

Rick Warren does say what the bible says. I think it is a travesty to denigrate a man of God who walks closely after Jesus Christ! He is a giant in the Lord!
