We aren't given a timeline for when verses 1 and 2 happened. It is possible it was millions or billions of years?

Gen 1:5; God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

For what it is worth.... about 40 years ago in a week long class on Genesis with a rabbi .. the same question was asked what about the dinos? His response was something like ... The original language reads more like God selected which critters Noah was to collect.

I wish i could remember his name ... i can remember some of his story... born Jewish birth and religion ....saved through a Baptist teaching of some sort... then into Pentecost ... Like i said for wat ever it is worth to you....

A person who'd take biology -- I'm thinking -- would be learning the various catagories of animals. Classification Of. Two of a 'kind' that would be able to reproduce together and continue on with the world Of animals.

There's no reason for the world to be any older than 10 thousand years ago. Most everything is explained by the world-wide flood.

For the record, scientists are in agreement with the number of genders described in Genesis. I've never heard any say otherwise. A few insects can become asexual if necessary. Creatures of the microbiological world use cell division to reproduce.

I'm not worried how old our lovely Earth is as it really doesn't matter unless one is tracking events to determine an outcome. However, I don't buy into evolution taking millions of years as only one generation can effect a change. While breeders and horticulturists count on it, they also count on consistency in the sense roses won't produce daisies or maple trees. Cheers
