Yeah The bible says it will be a terrifying thing to see Him coming for the unbelievers...For the believers though it will be a joyful event...both the second coming and the rapture

There are those who believe that when the rapture Does take place, there will be a logical explanation for where the people went.

Yes...I believe the great deception is a part of that....People will be told that aliens took those who are unworthy off the planet.....So that they can lead mankind into the next evolutioI of our history
And Mars is a place you do not want to go to...I'm hoping it will be cleansed along with the Earth at the time of the Great White Throne judgment.

The "twinkling of an eye" phrase comes from Paul's description of believers being given their resurrection bodies. 1 corinthians 15. It's not about the rapture.
I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. Very good my friend....At the rapture the dead are raised first and caught up, and they that are alive are caught up, You could say they pass through death because they lose this flesh body and are changed into their new bodies....At the rapture....The verses are not stand alone verses They go with 1 Thessalonians 4:17

If we are talking about Matthew 24 here, that's Jesus prophecy of the sacking of Jerusalem. It was fulfilled in 70AD.

Not catch up and throw back. Jesus returns like the leader of a victorious army, or as a bridegroom. We are caught up to greet him and to join the triumphant victory/wedding procession.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
An important point to grasp is that the Bible never teaches us to put our hope in "going to heaven". Our hope should be in resurrection - our bodies renewed, living in a world that's released from the bondage of death and decay.
