The Dangerous Lie That You Don’t Need to Repent

Worthy is the Lamb who said "It is finished" before we were born!

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Heb 4:6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

No body can believe in something from God until God gives them the faith (belief) to believe which comes from his Word who is Jesus. (God)

Rom 12:3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Man can only choose to believe what he believes to be true and his believing comes from God.

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Please state your point of the passage you quoted in relation to "Worthy is the Lamb who said 'It is finished' before we were born!"

The post was to @Garee, and you avoided responding to one of two posts directed to you!

... the "work" of God, that "you"...

This is still a work that you do.
Yes if a person has been born again it is a work we can do yoked with Christ

The faithful let there be power to hear the understand Christ and power to perform it is the best thing that accompanies born again from above

Those who have not ben given the gift that acompanies salvation are referred to as thorns and thistles to represent the letter of the law the sting dearth

Hebrew 6:8-9;But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.;But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.;For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

I would hope you are offering your labor of love according to the power of his name .Having the same spirt of faith as it is written (sola scriptura)

The cross being a gift to us from God is an assumption?

If I never knew you I would continue this silly chat.
But I know you, and am not surprised that you would AVOID scripture telling you what God's Gift truly is.

And yes, asking you for your scriptural support is indeed silly of me.

The Christ of us Christians says
This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29).
The Christ of us Christians says

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
- Luke 6:46-47 KJV

Only God can "grant" repentance.

2Ti 2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
2Ti 2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
2Ti 2:26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
...correcting opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth,
- 2 Timothy 2:25 NRSV

So then who repents if not them?

Rhema

(Even you put grant in quotes.)

I cannot imagine the mockery of some anti-Christ feeling the burn on their death-throes asking for "last rites" as a get-out-of-Hell-card.

I need help with many things. (God help my wretched soul.) This is one of them concerning repentance. God will not be mocked.

Saint Matthew, Chapter 7:
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Not all who asked for last rights are trying to escape from their judgment. Both my parents for instance, very holy people. Both asked for last rights. It wasn't because they had lived a life full of sin and we're looking for some escapee route. It was because that they wanted the last blessing possible to sleep receive the last Grace before death

You can not do the "works of righteousness" when you have your mind set on the things of this world.

Only those who have their mindset in the things above can do the works of "righteousness."

That requires "repentance," which means to "to change your mind." Change your mind from what to what?

From thinking on the things of this world to thinking on the things that are above = "repentance"

Only God can "grant repentance"
I would have to say that there is more to think about than repentance. Because I rarely think about that myself. I would say that when I sin, I think about that. But when I'm walking in the Lord that's the last thing I'm thinking about.

What comes to mind when I'm walking in the Lord is the work that the lord has laid out for me. I don't even think about being with Him, as strange as that sounds. Because he is always with me.

What God calls me to do on a daily basis is the most important thing to me. But God's love is always flowing through me, and I'm always trying to express that love either trying to make a person smile, or expressing God's love that flows from me to that person
