Please give me your understanding concerning the GodHead.

For centuries people have debated about the Godhead;

how many members are there? Some say there are 3 members of the Godhead, some say there is only 1, but according to the King James Version of the Holy Bible (The Word of God), there are 2 members of the Godhead:

The Father and The Son.

Angels are not God and therefore are not part of the Godhead. Angels are ministering spirits (another word used for spirit is ghost) and those that didn't follow Satan are Holy Angels (Spirits).

The Angels (Ghosts/Spirits) be they good or evil, serve GOD: they are not equal with GOD. (Hebrews 1:13-14)

There are only 2 types of beings in existence:

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. - John 4:24 KJV

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. - 1 John 5:7 KJV

There is only ONE God, one "member," which has three manifestations:

1) the Father

2) the Word (which is Jesus Christ): And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. - John 1:14 KJV

3) the Holy Ghost

The three verses which contain the word "Godhead" are:

Acts 17;29
Romans 1:20
Colossians 2:9

this is where I'm confused at

if there is 1 God as you and others say

who is left out

Jesus or the Father?

if there is 1 God and 3 person that = 4

this is where I'm confused

The following is a verse used to support there being 3 members of the Godhead:

1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:

and these three are one.

The Father - 1

The Word (Jesus, the Son of God) -2

The Holy Ghost (Holy Angel) –3

The Holy Ghost, The Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, and The angel of God’s Presence is the angel Gabriel who took over Satan’s job when iniquity was found in him.
(St. John 14:15-26, Isaiah 63:7-10)

Yes, Gabriel bears record in heaven but he is not God; neither is he a part of the Godhead. To be one is to have the same mindset. To be full of the holy ghost is to be full of the Word of God.

Hello Howard. Howard the bible says in Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. See there are some things we will never understand. He gives us glimpses. We as humans always are trying to get into the mind of God our Creator. Its like a ant or mice trying to figure us out. He did give us this:

That the Godhead comes in 3 PERSONS. 1.God the Father 2. God the Son Jesus 3. God the Holy Spirit. All 3 were from the beginning Gen.1:
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God movedupon the face of the waters. The verse says the Spirit. Then in Gen.1:26 And God said , Let US make man in OUR image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Let US make man in OUR image. So we see that they were together all 3. They are seperate though. That is were people get confused, I did too before.

Best way to explain it as explained to me is that all 3 work for our salvation and want us with Them soon. AMEN. But if you take this verse Gen.2:
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. How can 2 people become one flesh? See when we marry we ought to walk together in harmony. Become one in our minds. That is how the Godhead works. They walk so closely together, like some of us in our marriages, that they are of one mind. How many times did Jesus consult or submitted to the Father in the Bible. John 14 illustrates that very well. Actually the whole book of John. Christ submitted all to the Father. Ask yourself why would He, Christ, pray for hours each day? and to whom?.

The Holy Spirit is a person also. Eph.4:
30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealedunto the day of redemption. Cannot grieve a innatimate object. The holy Spirit is called He many times in the Bible John 14:15If ye loveme, keepmy commandments.16And I will pray the Father, and he shall giveyou another Comforter, that he may abidewith you for ever;17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive , because it seethhim not, neither knowethhim: but ye knowhim; for he dwellethwith you, and shall bein you. John 16:8And when he is come , he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:9Of sin , because they believenot on me;10Of righteousness, because I goto my Father, and ye seeme no more;11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged . The Holy Spirit directs us now, if we allow Him too.

Hope that helped. God bless

Thanks for your thoughts but you just contradicted Isaiah

You gave me your thoughts

1 God
3 persons

I can show you where Jesus is God

I can show you where the Father is God

I see 2

As far as the 3 persons I can't read that

But if it's true then we have not a trinity but 4

Where does the word that we read come in at when dealing with the Holy Spirit

John 6:63 (KJV)
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Why does the Lord call His Word the spirit?

[h=3]Birth of Isaac Promised[/h]Genesis 18

18 Now the Lord appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door
in the heat of the day. 2 When he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him;
and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth,
3 and said, “My Lord, if now I have found favor in Your sight, please do not pass Your servant by.

Hmmm, three men were standing there?

The following passage will put the trinity beyond debate.

Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

All three are God, all do the work of God, we worship all three equally.

[Matthew 28:19/B]

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

David
I can read where the Father is God and I can read where Jesus the son is called God but I have not read where the HS is called God

Please put the debate to rest by providing scriptures that God the HS is part of the Godhead

1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV)
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

My understanding is the

head of woman is man

Head of man is Jesus

Head of Jesus is God

This is my understanding of the Godhead

Jesus and The Father

Paul did not include the Holy Spirt as a head

Why is this?

Hmmm, three men were standing there?

What are you implying?

You think these 3 men are the trinity

Show me?

Here is something I ran across an it boggled my mind

Revelation 10:6 (KJV)
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

It say Jesus created everything in heaven

Who lives in heaven

The Father
Jesus did not create Him

The Angels
Jesus created the angels

God the Holy Ghost
Did Jesus create HIm?

Who is the HS to me?

When I read this bible I read several forms of the HS.

I will put the verses and you tell me.

The HS comes from God who is Holy so as you read these different HS
they are holy and you will see that they are called Spirit

John 6:63 (KJV)
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

This verse alone speaks volume

Jesus says his words are spirit, this lets me know that every word Jesus speaks is spirit

Jesus is holy so this makes his words holy and we read they are spirit

Tell me why the churches don't teach this

Here is another spirit from God

Job 27:3 (KJV)
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

Is the HS living in our nose? Of course he is not but this is another spirit from God which is Holy.

Let's continue

When we come across the word spirit which of the 3 that been discussed is God the holy spirit?

I still have 3 more spirits to present

What about the post concerning the Godhead

1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV)
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

We have a God who is Jesus who is the head of man

We have a God who is The Father who is the head of Jesus

I read 2 Gods who are the heads

1 God is the head of man this is Jesus
1 God who is the head of Jesus this is God the Father

Why was God the HS left out?

Someone will you call and ask your spiritual leader to answer this question
