The mysteries of God.

So what are you saying Brad? That a little child may understand. What are you calling me a Pharisees a devil or what, a false prophet a deceiver of men. Because that last reply you are putting me in the class of the Pharisees, Jesus told them their Father was the Devil, John Baptist called them a den of vipers! Do not not speak in Riddles. Speak plainly! Call me sir stand up like a Child of God and speak the truth! Be bold! Hot or cold! It is time for weak Christians, to stand up! Jesus even refereed to a woman as a Dog! Festus even called Paul mad! Come on take one for the team!
The pharisees were considered men of God by the jews of that day. They knew scripture well, and would use it as a sword, which it should be at times when the Lord says to. But they used it as a sword, even when God desired mercy. Jesus said the two greatest commandments were so great, that if you followed those, you would automatically follow the others. I do speak the truth. You have many words, not all beneficial, and you like to use that sword, seemingly with glee. I do see some similarities with the pharisees, but some pharisees were not so bad, we hear mostly about the bad ones, perhaps you are a good one, perhaps not.

John 3:1-3 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

This man talked a lot, but he worthwhile is Jesus's eyes, and the man was receptive to Jesus's teachings. Perhaps you are more often like him, than the ones that were normally spoken badly of. Thats between you and the Lord. I just see the similarities. I do not say this to put you in a bad eye, but to hopefully help you see what you cannot see, just as you didnt see what Trevor or I said. Peace brother.

I've just had this thought and so I pray it's not too vague. " Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works. We have to ask ourselves, is this just the scripture in the new testament or both the new and the old? Often when we read the words of Jesus and he is speaking to someone, we take it, that through this teaching he is talking to us all, and the lesson he is teaching is part of a gospel that is to be preached throughout the world. So I could take it, that when he explains rebirth to Nicodemus he is also explaining it to me, 'personally'. If this applies to the teachings of Jesus, shouldn't it also apply to the teachings of his Father, or do the teachings of the living God, cease to apply at his Son's death? I am told by many 'learned' Christians, that I should adhere to the teachings of Jesus, when he tells us to walk the extra mile and turn the other cheek etc. But I'm to ignore the living God when he calls me to tithe. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Now the Lord tells me to tithe and test him, My brothers tell me that since the death of Jesus, the words of the Father are irrelevant. Who do you think I should listen to? My brothers who can do nothing to me, or the living God? Matthew 10:28. Don't be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell.

Hebrews 8:13 "In that he saith a new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away."

Just my 2 cents, but we do not sacrifice animals for sins, we do not have a Levitical priest residing over a temple and doing service in it, we do not do all the washings,
nor do we hold the feasts, nor do we make grain offerings etc... And from what I saw in an earlier post you are more like saving for a rainy day for someone else and
calling it tithing, thats not tithing, as tithing is to a levitical priest period, and that priesthood was abolished the day of Jesus' death. But I am not against the idea.

Acts 15:5 "But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the
Law of Moses."

Acts 15:6 "And the apostles and elders came together for to consider this matter."

And after there had been much disputing...............Peter stands up and says..........

Acts 15:8-11 "And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; and put no difference between us
and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Now therefore WHY TEMPT YE GOD TO PUT A YOKE UPON THE NECK OF THE DISCIPLES THAT NEITHER OUR FATHERS NOR WE WERE ABLE TO BEAR?"
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they."

Acts 15 is a good read for this very subject, the whole chapter. As they sent out letters to verify that it was not necessary to be circumcised nor keep the law.
And this came from Peter and Paul and the other elders and apostles of the Church, it was a much disputed matter. And when the letters were sent they invoked
the Holy Ghost as in agreement with what they said.
Acts 15:25-29 states what was necessary, and all the things mentioned were things to be avoided.

Now it would seem to me, as the presentation of our brother in Christ "Samson2020" clearly in light Of "Holy Scripture"
Someone else looks more like a "Pharisees" than me! And from what I see, I might be a victim of "AD Hominem".

PS. And regarding your last remark. About seeing. Have you forgot this verse of "Holy Scripture"!

"You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."

I hope you had on your "Armor"! And your Helmet too!

Oh, yea, peace brother

I listen to the posters on talk Jesus and one will say, "God said this to me", and another will say "God told me to do such and such", and I listen. But when God speaks to me through the book of Malachi and calls me to bring food into his store room, it seems to infuriate people. Strange!

Now for clarity, How could there be such a thing as "the heart of scripture". What is that? Words are very important! And flavor of doctrine. Now let us look at the "English syntax" of what he said:
The Word of God is Jesus ("and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.") Am I being told that Jesus didn't have a heart?

I assume Trevor is speaking of this...

Matt 22: 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Thanks Brad, To love ones neighbour is to see things with the love and understanding of Jesus, forgive the adulteress, and take the thief who had no time to become born again to heaven with him. How many on Talk Jesus would do that? I know there are a few.

Trevor, I don't mean no harm, Who told you, Malachi, is addressing you! You know darn well, you test everything in light of "Holy Scripture". Satan knows more about the word of God better than any of us! Satan knows God's voice too, He can imitate it too, He appears as a Angel of Light! The Book of Malachi is addressing the Priest of stealing the tithes that the people was bringing to the store house and a lot more atrocities. The priest had a racket going on. The store house is not a temple it is a barn for "storage" to feed the poor, they were stealing from the poor! God said you have robbed me and these people! They were like "political thieves"! You must read the book as whole in whole context. And make sure you use a good translation, meaning a bible that has good punctuation.

Trevor, just maybe God did lead you there to Malachi, but maybe for you to investigate it. And study it. And take it apart, and see the truth! What I am saying, study the book, back track cover everything like a "hunter" take no ones else word, become a skill hunter and tracker. And when you do see the light, it is going to hurt! How could I have been so blind. It will kill all kinds of pride and show a lot more light into other things. Get your pen and pencil out! And do a good work!
Check out Abraham, check out Jacob! It is going to hurt. And you will understand where those tithing myth rose from.

Please Trevor, your friend in Christ, PloughBoy.

The Word of God is Jesus ("and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.") Am I being told that Jesus didn't have a heart?
Trevor it is the word that sometimes we use. The true word is "spirit". Out of our hearts comes all forms of evil our own feelings leads us astray. That is why the Scripture says we must "guard our hearts". Remember " For the sorrow of the World work-eth death". Feeling sorry for a person is different from "showing compassion for the repentant sinner" it is a thin line. Compassion for the repentant always shows mercy. Remember the "Spirit" of the Word". And not the heart of the Scriptues. The word for "Spirit" here is "pneuma" :). I am not your enemy, Trevor, I am your friend.

For years and years I could not read my bible without a mutitube of dictionaries of all kinds. And God has bless a lot of you, you only have to have about one or two, and plus the internet. Especially when reading my threads. LOL! Hehehe!

I don't believe you are my friend in Christ Ploughboy, I believe you are a manipulative little man who enjoys arguments and intimidating vulnerable Christians, and you do mean me harm. I've been walking and talking with the Lord for over thirty five years and I know when he speaks to me. So bog off and play your games elsewhere.

Guys, guys, this thread about the miracles of God is degenerating into a bun fight. Stop it!
Everything is permissible,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible,” but not everything is edifying. No one should seek his own good, but the good of others. 2 Corinthians 24-25

Please, it's time to kiss and make up :kissing_heart:

You're right of course Andy, but PloughBoy can be infuriating at times, bless his cotton socks. But kiss him? Maybe not.

Now, here is the cream on top of the cake! Enjoy!:p

11“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matt 18:7; “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!

So I could take it, that when he explains rebirth to Nicodemus he is also explaining it to me, 'personally'. If this applies to the teachings of Jesus, shouldn't it also apply to the teachings of his Father, or do the teachings of the living God, cease to apply at his Son's death?

God was in Jesus reconciling the world unto himself not imputing their sins unto them. Jesus never spoke a word that his Father did not tell him to say during his ministry,
thus the teachings of Jesus are the teachings of God concerning the New covenant/testament. That covenant took effect the moment Jesus died, Heb 9:16 "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17-"For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the
testator liveth.
The old covenant law which was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ was abolished at that moment as well. This old vs new, Jesus vs God teachings is false as
all scripture is given by the same Spirit the Spirit of God. Both New and Old. The law was added to keep man shut up from the promise until the time that Jesus was
sent into the world and God was ready to open up salvation through faith.

Galatians 3:24 "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith."
25-But after that faith is come, we are NO LONGER UNDER A SCHOOLMASTER.

Galatians 3 would be a very good read for the subject in question here as well, as it agrees with Acts 15, in that the old testament law was abolished the moment
Jesus died for those who are in Christ according to faith alone.

I would only add that it seems that what you do by holding/saving some percentage of income and calling it tithing is gonna be confusing to those that are young
in the Lord.
By definition what your doing is saving and I don't think anybody has a problem with that. Just let the word tithing fall away from it and were all good. Otherwise
it is picking and choosing which part of the law you feel inclined to keep. And we both know that anyone justified by any part of the law must keep the whole law.
But God made the promise according to faith, and faith is the only thing that justifies anyone.

Galatians 3:3 "........having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?"
5-"He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or the hearing of faith?"

Gal 3:12 "And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them."

Both, either one, they both are the same...we are not called to understand but believe !

Apparently not according to Jesus, they had no knowledge who he was and He called them a "Den of Vipers".
