WE HAVE TO EAT JESUS

Jesus says to drink his blood and eat his flesh. So are you saying that is only one thing and not two things about two different things?
You say to drink his blood and eat his flesh is to hear and receive, and inwardly digest it, and you say walking in the light of it.

Could you explain that more? If I understand you right, you say to eat and drink is the same thing and we do that by hearing and believing, correct? Or, are you saying to hear and to believe are two different things?

And then how would one inwardly digest it and walk in the light of it?
Thanks.
Hello @God's Truth,

To eat and drink of Christ, is to partake of Him. To receive of Him, and assimilate Him, by believing and trusting in His word, concerning His person and His work. When you eat and drink something you take it into your system and digest it. Similarly with the word of God, you receive it by faith and acknowledge it. The truth of the gospel of Christ becomes part of you, as food nourishes and strengthens you, so God's word concerning His Son, establishes you in faith, and strengthens you, and as you acknowledge it to yourself and to those around you, it thereby becomes one with you, so that you are able to walk in the light of it, energising you and giving you life, spiritual life.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hello BloomOne, I see you are new to the group and joined today. Welcome, and so glad that you are interested in my thread on how we drink and eat Jesus.
Beloved one, you are considering,”How we eat Jesus to get saved and stay saved.” For you heard what has been written in John 6:51.
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.””
‭‭John‬ ‭6:51‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
And also, you are considering what has been written in John 6:53.
“Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you EAT the flesh of the Son of Man and DRINK His blood, you have no life in you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:53‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So you are asking how we eat Jesus and drink His blood ?

This is what we have heard:
“Blessed are they which do HUNGER and THIRST after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Beloved one, we eat Jesus’ flesh and drink His blood by being hungry and thirsty after the righteousness of God.
We hunger after the righteousness of God given to us by Jesus, but how do we drink his blood and eat his flesh?
For we also heard apostle Paul said:

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be SAVED. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Good connecting the righteousness of God and seeing that the Jews who did not believe in Jesus' blood purifying us, for they wanted to keep sacrificing animals as God told them to do in the old covenant.

If our hearts desire and prayer to God for Gentiles is that we may be saved, we should submit to the righteousness of God, that apostle Paul may testify that we have a zeal of God according to knowledge.

Selah
I do not see though where you explained how we drink and how we eat, unless it is where just being hungry is how, as you mentioned in the beginning of your post? We do have to be hungry for God's righteousness, but how do you drink and eat. I hope you can explain more for me about your beliefs. Thanks.

I heard you are asking how you differentiate eating His flesh and drinking His blood.

This is what we have heard our Lord Jesus said:
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he THAT COMETH TO ME shall never hunger; and he THAT BELIEVETH ON ME shall never thirst.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So righteousness of God that we can eat is the bread of life, that we come to Jesus.

And righteousness of God that we can drink is His blood, that we believe on Jesus.
Selah
So am I right in that you are saying we drink Jesus' blood and eat his flesh by believing only?

Hello @God's Truth,

To eat and drink of Christ, is to partake of Him.
Right.
To receive of Him, and assimilate Him, by believing and trusting in His word, concerning His person and His work.
So believe is how we are to take him in? Would that just be equivalent to just drinking, or to drinking his blood and also eating his flesh?
When you eat and drink something you take it into your system and digest it.
Right.
So there is no other choice that you have given me but to understand that you believe that to drink his blood and eat his flesh is just by believing him? Is that right?

Read what Jesus' disciples said to him...

John 4:31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, "Rabbi, eat something."

32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you know nothing about."

33 Then his disciples said to each other, "Could someone have brought him food?"

34 "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

Did you read that? Jesus says his food is to DO the will of him who sent me and to FINISH HIS WORK.

Jesus is telling us what food is.

When we do what God says to do!

That is what food is.

That is how we eat Jesus.

Beloved one, we eat the flesh of the Son of Man, that we eat the bread of life by COMING TO HIM.

And we drink His blood by BELIEVING ON HIM, that is, BELIEVING ON HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, that is, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.

For we heard our Lord said :
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he THAT COMETH TO ME shall never hunger; and he THAT BELIEVETH ON ME shall never thirst.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To God the Father be all glory and thanksgiving through Christ. Amen

looking at that parable (John 6) drink blood eat flesh and its companion 2 Samuel 23:16-18 Comparing the unseen gospel understanding to the same gospel .Yes it’s all one thing .

The Lord pouring out his Spirit life in jeopardy of his own Spirit.

Bethlehem the city of bread , waters from the living well like John 4 , Water indicates blood or the giving of one spirit life in jeopardy of oneself .

2 Samuel 23:16-18 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord. And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this :(water) is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

Turning water the life of the spirit into blood .

Beloved one, we eat the flesh of the Son of Man, that we eat the bread of life by COMING TO HIM.
We come to Jesus because we are hungry for the righteousness we receive from him.

Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
And we drink His blood by BELIEVING ON HIM, that is, BELIEVING ON HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, that is, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.
That believing is as drinking his blood.

We are made righteous by faith in Jesus' blood purifying us and not by our getting animals blood.
For we heard our Lord said :
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he THAT COMETH TO ME shall never hunger; and he THAT BELIEVETH ON ME shall never thirst.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have to do what Jesus says to do to be accepted by him, and he tells us more to do than just believe.

To just believe is as drinking his blood, having just wine.
We have to eat too, which is about doing what Jesus says to do to be the one he saves.

I don't see it that way when you say turning water the life of the spirit into blood.
The Bible says the water is the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free–and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

I don't see it that way when you say turning water the life of the spirit into blood.
The Bible says the water is the Spirit of God.
yers and if you look slowly prayerfully closely it represnt blood . The Holy Spirt pouring out his spirit life as if it was blood on flesh

Sweat spit or water is used to show the Son of man was working with the father ,The father pouring out his Spirit on Jesus the son of man in jeapory of his own Spirti . as the father of all spirit life.

Just like the example in Samuel 23:16-18 water sweat as if it was blood .

Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

The scriptures say the wine, the bread, the water.
Which is the blood, the flesh, and the Holy Spirit.

To drink the blood is to believe, and to eat his flesh is to obey him, then he gives us his Spirit, pure water.

I have explained to you before that God says in the Old Testament that the blood of animals would atone for our souls, and that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins, and life is in the blood.

We do have to believe in Jesus' blood washing away the sins we repent of doing.

We still have to believe that we have to obey Jesus.

We come to him for forgiveness of sins and have to confess and repent of those sins.

Then we believe that his blood washes us clean.

Yes as he pours out His spiriit on dying flesh as if it was blood in jeapordy of His own spirit. To drink the blood is to believe, and to eat his flesh is to obey him.

He uses swaet in the same way and spit in another parable.

The Spirit life is poured out on dead flesh . Blood without the spirit must be poured at the foot of the alter to show life was given . No dead sacrifices Literal spiritless blood returns to the dust or feild of clay

No. Neither you nor us are God to be doing God's work.

Jesus said it was His food to eat as He is sent to do the will of the Father that sent Him and to finish the Father's work. You & us cannot do that. Only Jesus Christ can do that, therefore you & I cannot eat Jesus's food.

Counter scripture for why and how you are misapplying His words above because here is the work of God we are to do below.

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

That is the TRUTH!! Believe in Jesus Christ as in trust Him to do what He said He was sent to do. Or don't you believe Him? Don't you trust Him to do this? Does this act of unbelief on your part voids faith you have in Him? Are you naked of your wedding garment?

Jesus Christ is in heaven with God defending us in front of the Accuser. Here on Earth, He empowered US, His church, to do his work - motivated and guided by the Holy Spirit. He talks to us and walks with us through the Holy Spirit. His shed blood on the cross is the NEW COVENANT he made with us (Matt. 26:28).

The key here is that He empowers us and so it is not on us to do His work in us or through us, but we do need His help to trust Him to do this as well as to follow Him for we are His workmanship.

As sons of God we can do the will of the father that works in us . He promies us he will not forget the good works we can offer in respect to his name (power) Things that acompany salvation again his power in us.

Hebrew 6: 9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Hello @God's Truth,

The will of God for us, is to believe on Him Whom He hath sent:- Christ Jesus our risen and glorified, Saviour, Lord and Head.
God's will for us...God's work for us...is to believe in Jesus.

It isn't the only work we have to do, for we have to do everything Jesus says to do.

The Jews only knew of God the Father, and now they have to believe in this man Jesus who says they now have to go through him to remain God the Father's.

Jesus is saying to believe him, believe that you have to obey him.

All the scriptures that Jesus says to believe him, they don't nullify all the scriptures where he tells us to obey him.

We have to believe that we have to obey him.

Jesus's human temporal spirit as a man did the will of a man,
No such thing as a spirit being temporal.

Jesus did NOT do the will of a man.

Jesus did not come to earth to have a wife, to have kids, to have wealth and a home, etc.

Jesus is God come in the flesh to teach us the Way and be reconciled to God and dying for us.
As a man he did the will of the father that worked in him to both reveal the will of the father and empower the Son of man to perform it to the fathers good will .
Jesus is God come as a human, he lived like a human to experience what life is for us, and then he was baptized with power for his earthly ministry.

Jesus has his earthly side from David, and his Father is God and has his spirit from God.

God is the Father of all spirits in humans, but Jesus is God come in the flesh and his spirit IS OF GOD'S.
