Is there total darkness in the midst of fire?Because everyone is born a sinner and there is either heaven or hell in everyone's future.
Because Jesus Christ , the Son of God -- died on the cross - in our place and rose again the 3rd day to give all of us a chance to stay out of hell and be able To be in heaven -- for ever.
Without accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior -- 'we' will end up in hell For Ever.
So -- a person is being Saved From ending up in hell for ever. The book of Revelation calls it the lake of fire and brimstone. Total darkness
Luke 16 tells us about the rich man and Lazarus. vs 22 - 28 or so.
God wrote the names of those whom he would save in his Lambs Book of (Eternal) Life before he created anything.
One might observe we were destined by God to fall. God is sovereign. He tells us he predestined all things according to his will and divine planning.
We have no free will, as he tells us in Proverbs. We plan our way but God sets our steps.
God even tells us we are given faith and are saved by his grace.
It's not up to us. It's all him.
Why then would anyone be destined to Hell by God when it is time? Since no one is yet there.
When God as much as tells us, we don't choose him. He chose us, or not, to save before the world was made.
The only way we would be in the Book of (eternal) Life before that is if God also predestined our fall.
Which he did when in his omniscience he planted the forbidden tree in Eden.
Why? This is all in the Bible. Because God, who demands worship and praise, predestined all things, (omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent), due to his zeal for his own glory.
And we're made in his image and likeness.
