What if you die tonight?

Those jesting about Job (his supposed friends) were brought to account for it. The juxt of the point was... You dont get to decide whose heart is right with God, you dont know whether they are miserable because of their sin and want to get back to the fold (the lost 1 sheep) and who is wallowing in sin and enjoying it and only hope they dont get caught. God see's all, you dont.

You don't get to decide whose heart is right with God,
That is not the issue -
the question was about defining who is a Christian? And the answer is in scripture. God sets the rules, the standards.
Many claim to be Christians or whatever but does this mean that God accepts all self identifications?
Are the Mormons right with God? Are the Jehovah Witnesses Christians and OK with God? Are the various sects and cults all good with God because their hearts are right?
Then there are the millions who claim to be born again but when one examines scripture it is very dubious as to their claims to such.
So if people die tonight and God has not accepted them as Christians according to his word - what then?

I totally understand your point, hope that you understand what I said as well.

When Jesus crack that sky, everybody is going to be a "christian" They all will become a "believer" that HE is the SON of the Living GOD! They might not be "Holy Ghost filled,, But they will be "believers" :eyes:

Revelation 1:7
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him--even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.

You are correct , a person may not ever have been Baptized in the Spirit, but the Love of God in them will be thier Salvation

When did the thief on the cross recieve Baptism, or does Jesus get to break His own Word?

Becoming Christian, It all has to fit and make sense. It is thought Love that the Thief was Baptized

A believer of all scripture not just some - repentance from dead works - full immersion water baptism for the remission of one's past sins - baptism of the Holy Spirit - walking in the Spirit - having evidence to such = testimony
What part of God's Word is not God's Word.

During WWII there were multible stories of people coming to Christianity over just a single page of the Bible.

I'll take that challenge.

Christian: a derogatory term, which means "little christ", which was used (and is used today) to describe followers of the Way, that is to say: the followers of Yeshua Messhiac.

Today, if someone says they are Christian, I guess you'll get all kinds of responses, some of which will likely leave you scatching your head. To me, that definition has not changed, just as HIS word has not changed since 30 A.D. or thereabouts.

"Follow me." HE said. "Repent and believe." HE said. "Go, ... teach all ethnicities what I have commanded you." HE said. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." HE said. "Ye are witnesses." HE said. "You must be born again." HE said.

Christian is actually the new name the father promised to name his bride She is made up of many nations . .not a derogatory term. That idea would seem to come from the derogatory one the spirit of lies . The word (Christian ) has all but lost its value in keeping the integrity of God’s word I would think not to any Christians surprise .

It’s what the spirit of error the murderer from the beginning does best change the meaning change of one word, change the authorship. Plagiarism violating the first and second commandment

Isaiah 62:2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

Previously called His bride Israel Christian it would seem a more befitting name for the bride of all nations. Christian without any new meaning added is simply residents of the city of Christ named after her founder and husband Christ .

Much I believe has been lost by looking at the denomyn . . . a noun used to denote the natives or inhabitants of a particular country, state, city, etc.

. Zion or heavenly Jerusalem the city of Christ prepared as His one bride the church

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

I hear you. Nonetheless, the 1st century disciples were called Christians first in Antioch, and the term Christian was indeed a derogatory term then, and to the secular world of the 21st century the term Christian is a derogatory term today. For me and you and all in the Body of Christ, the term Christian is the power of God. Amen.

Yes - one only has to watch leftwing politically correct news to see how their is NO coverage of the persecution and murders of Christians, as opposed to the shock and horror of the sufferings of Muslims
and others by rightwing militia or conservative politics or hateful Christians.
9 Australians a day commit suicide (365x9 = 3,285 people) yet if 1 Islamic person commits suicide or self harms in a detention centre then there is meltdown by the media and much commentary on the failure of
Christians to accept diversity of religions and cultures.
Christianity is not honoured by Marxists who enjoy all the benefits and legacies of a first world Christian civilization - like the rule of law and social welfare - they despise the very religious culture that made the West great.

A feeling came over me as I read your statement. We are living in very troubling times. Not unlike the early ekklesia experienced, but on a much more sophisticated level. Brothers and sisters in Christ: "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of HIS might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the evil day." With love peace and blessings to all. Amen.

Amen Interestingly the word "called" is used 9 times in the new testament always refers to the author our father who designed the word to represent the Chris's bride of all the nations .Again before the promise in Isaiah 62 he called her Israel she represented by Jaoob meaning deceiver as one who wrestles against flesh and blood and overcomes by the power of God's Sprit working in them .
.Again the word Christian called(chrématizó) by God denotes residents of the city of Christ prepared as the bride founded after her husband Christ . A denomyn

Strong’s concordance chrématizó
Definition: to transact business, to make answer
Usage: (originally: I transact business), (a) act. of God: I warn; pass: I am warned by God (probably in response to an inquiry as to one's duty), (b) (I take a name from my public business, hence) I receive a name, am publicly called.

Used 9 times in the new testament always in respect to a work of God .

For those outside it was a derogatory word just as the word Israel . . un beleivers sharing the same hatred for the word of God no matter what name was given to represent the wife of Christ.

Acts 10:22And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee

Acts 11:2626 and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And for an entire year they met with the church and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Mathew 2:12 And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.

It is always interesting to read people like yourself aand others in this Chat , who can really dig into the word.

Im hoping Plough Boy, Brad, Bro Paul, Dave and a few others hop in here . Love seeing the Word " chewed " on . ( discussed )

One thought that did come to mind. I think it was Corrie Ten Boom who said " reading the bible is like eating a candy bar, we rarely stop to look at the ingredients " ( this may not be an exact quote, but you get the idea )

Great quote. The sweet candy bar with an even sweeter surprise hid on the inside The hidden manna revealed in Revelation 2 .

Manna which literally as a query means; What is it ?. Or how can we know God not seen.

It was the bread or the food of God’s will that would stop the murmuring of unbelief. . by manna the bread of unfamiliarity. That as which we are to search for as if silver or gold. . . the pearl of great price. (Christ)

The unbelieving Jew wanting to return to bondage Egypt and the many foods .

The Holy Spirit denied that were familiar with God knowing his will. . who is not a man as us.

That kind of familiarity can breed hatred and murder as in out of sight out of mind. Ne could never claim familiarity with our God. He alone knows the hearts of all men. His heart is un-searchable

The manna it came down upon the dew like the doctrine of God used to represent the work of Holy Spirit. Its color was that of a pearl used to represent Jesus or the gates of the city prepared as this bride the church and it tasted like honey the sweet fellowship with God .

It comes with a warning do not eat too much honey (false pride) or it could become lukewarm and like Jonas cause a person to be vomited out.

Familiarity it sentenced Jesus to the cross by his own family members .We have a new kind of family made up of all the nations of the world.
