Hello @God's Truth,

Oh brother! Yes, in the flesh I do fall short of the glory of God, every single moment of the day: for the flesh cannot please Him.
We have to please God in spirit and flesh.

Yet, by God's grace I have been given a new nature, which is of the Spirit, which cannot sin: for it is of God.
God can't sin, but you still can.
God's righteousness has been imputed to me, and I can walk in the light of His presence without fear, for my sins have been forgiven me, and I stand before Him as one who is Holy and without Blame,
You are giving confused and mixed messages.

In addition, please note that WE HAVE TO OBEY.
not because of anything that I have done, but because of what Christ has done. He bore my guilt upon Himself, and carried it to Calvary, where He died in my place, so that I could be declared, 'Not Guilty!' and now ever lives to intercede for me. He is my Saviour, my Lord and Head, He also is my Intercessor.
We have to do what he says to do. He bore the sins of the whole world and we have to come to him and confess and repent of our sins and die with him to the sins of the world and promise to live to please him.

We have to please God in spirit and flesh.

Hello @God's Truth,

If my message (reply#19) is mixed, perhaps you will tell me how, so that I can rectify it.

Perhaps you have not acknowledged the fact that the believer has two natures: one that he was born with, which is of the flesh; and one that is spirit, and of the Spirit of God. It is this knowledge that explains the conflict that every believer experiences. The one (of the flesh) will be with us until death, the other (of the spirit) is eternal.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

I know this diverts away from the thread but in some ways is connected as well. For the subject came up.
I thought of Saul who converted on the road to Damascus.
Saul became Paul.
Paul was obviously humbled in meeting Jesus and actively repented of his sins and had the faith and recognition that Jesus washed them, sanctified him and transformed him.

Yet Paul still acknowledged his daily struggles. See Romans 7:14-21

The conflict of the flesh and spirit is there in every child of God.

God begun the good work will bring to completion.

That shows the process we are in.
We wear the righteousness of God that renders us justified. Not in our merits but the complete work of Christ.

Underneath the garment of Christ is the work of being changed in Him, from glory to glory

If we say we have no sin we lie and the word is not in us

We desire to do good and can do for He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.

Yet we all stumble in many ways.
Says James.

We come up against our fallen flesh and must put this to death and live victorious in Christ.

Only grace can enable us to do this. By actively submitting to the Holy Spirit within the relationship with our spirit and Him. By living by God and not the flesh.

That's the fruit of repentance and the new life of the Holy Spirit in us.

Outwardly we are decaying but every day inwardly we are being renewed.

Only grace can enable the Body of Christ to stand out as Salt and light in a world that is decaying.

I thought of Saul who converted on the road to Damascus.
Saul was NOT saved on that road to Damascus.
Saul became Paul.
Not on that road to Damascus, for he asked Jesus what shall you have me do, and Jesus said where to go and it shall be told him.

Then Saul went where Jesus said to go, and Paul didn't eat or drink for three days while he spent that time praying.
Can you imagine what those prayers sounded like?
He must have begged God to forgive him.

He was only saved after repenting of his sins.

If Paul would have been saved for just believing, then he would have been saved on that road but he was not.
Yet Paul still acknowledged his daily struggles. See Romans 7:14-21
That IS NOT what Paul said about himself AFTER being saved.

Paul was explaining what it was like for Jews under the old law and without faith.
The old law was NOT based on faith it was based on the purification works of the law.
God did not like it that the Jews would sin, do a righteous work of the law like sacrifice an animal, but NOT really be sorry for their sins.
Some Jews had faith and some did not.
Jesus came and made a new covenant that was based on faith.
The conflict of the flesh and spirit is there in every child of God.
Well not the way you explain it.

God begun the good work will bring to completion.
We have to obey.
When anyone wants to be saved, then they have to DIE to the sins of the world.

That shows the process we are in.
We have to train ourselves, but just you comparing Romans 7 to Paul describing himself as a saved sinner is well...just disgusting...there is NOTHING GOOD IN PAUL AFTER being SAVED...he ONLY DOES EVIL AFTER being SAVED? Come on now, let us reason together.
We wear the righteousness of God that renders us justified. Not in our merits but the complete work of Christ.

Underneath the garment of Christ is the work of being changed in Him, from glory to glory
We are supposed to be clothed in Christ and you say an under garment????

If we say we have no sin we lie and the word is not in us
That scripture and the way you explain it is not from God it is from men and teachings of false teachers.
We desire to do good and can do for He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.
WHAT? ! You can't do good?!!!!! You are speaking like a Calvinist/Luther/faith aloner.

Yet we all stumble in many ways.
Says James.
Now you are talking about something else. James says we stumble, but you wrongly quote Paul talking about someone NOT saved and WITHOUT faith saying they can do NOTHING GOOD AND ONLY EVIL.
We come up against our fallen flesh and must put this to death and live victorious in Christ.

Only grace can enable us to do this. By actively submitting to the Holy Spirit within the relationship with our spirit and Him. By living by God and not the flesh.
That is more Calvin/Luther/faith alone doctrine falseness.

Hello @God's Truth,

If my message (reply#19) is mixed, perhaps you will tell me how, so that I can rectify it.
You said you fall short.

So tell me, if your sibling comes to visit you and you can see they are a mess, hungry, etc, you would not help them?

Perhaps you have not acknowledged the fact that the believer has two natures:
We are NOT supposed to have two natures after being saved.

In addition, Calvinists and others like them claim that they were chosen, picked for no known reason and before they believe and obey anything. I must say that I hate the teachings of Calvin and Luther for it goes against the Word of God. Just listen to the Calvinist and faith alone doctrine believers...they teach against obedience but then they talk against evil.
You say all of that, but you have no problem with “KJV”, “ASV”, Geneva Bible”, The Bishop Bible”, “RSV”, lexicons, The Mayflower, The Methodist, The Puritans, The Congregatistionlist, and a all the rest,

But you hate the Teachings of “Calvin and Luther”, mmm how far and High does that hatred Reach?

“All liars are going to hell!”:eyes:

Now do not get my words crossed! I did not say you was going to hell, I quoted “Holy Scripture” and I spoke “TRUTH” which is love.

“All Liars are going to Hell”

So you proclaim, you know the Teachings of “John Calvin” and Martin Luther” The “Reformers”:eyes:

You don't know that God the Father lives in the saved?
Are you acknowledging The Truth? That “GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE”! or are you refusing to acknowledge Him as such? it is A Fearful thing to fall into The Hands of GOD:eyes:

Would not you agree?:eyes:

You need to explain yourself better.

I have no idea what your point is.

If you have a sword you are just slashing away.

Jesus puts the saved in the Father and the saved have the Father in them. Jesus makes it possible.
We have reconciliation to God through Jesus.

Is this not also words of Love?

30For we knowHim who said, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.” 31It is a terrifying thingto fall into the hands of the livingGod.

I wanted to continue posting here but today the flesh is weak and the spirit is willing. Matthew 26:40-41

Have a long day tommorow.:) Good night.

Gross.
Who would ever connect God to sexual gratification?
You have a problem man.
I see your limitations concerning, the exhausted definitions of a word, especially concerning the “Biblical Text” translations but it is understandable as many others stumble concerning The Text of “Holy Scripture” for in which we all sometimes stumble.

For, my brother and sisters in Christ who have not a hard copy of “ISBE” or a earlier handy copy of “Vines Dictionary of New Testament Words, that both shows the meaning of every sentence In The Original Text meaning in which many Greek words can have many different meaning although one word used in another language. And sometimes the contents in English is kinda different, and becomes rare.

Here is “ISBE” on the Bibllical meaning of “Sensual”.
