Jesus talked about hell more than any other person in the Bible. He talked about hell more than he did heaven and described it more vividly so why are we not discussing it as much as Jesus?

One time ask a Christian about God’s judgments in the Bible, he said: “ he didn’t read “negative” stuff”. Yes he did. So, there must be a lot like him. They stay in the “love” department. I guess.

When God said "Many are called, FEW are chosen" is becoming vividly clearer to me

People would much rather hear about 'love' than suffering / reality of hell. But they are Both very important. Because Of God's love for us -- He's made a way for everyone to escape hell for eternity.

I would not contrast hell with love. God is love, period 1 John 4:8.

Hell is simply a home for those that hate God. We can see the love of God in that He created hell for the wicked. People reject Jesus / God because they 'love the darkness', as explained in John 3:19. God would be cruel to force those who hate Him to be with Him. God is not cruel.

Agreed, we should. But more importantly to properly discuss it.

Many base their understanding of hell off of a a few cherry picked verses or some book they read by someone who had a bad dream and thought it was real.

When we teach untruths about hell, we taint God. The unsaved must believe God is good with a dark side. This is the risk. Miss-representation of God.

A Christian has ''one'' job on earth. Namely, to properly represent God to the unsaved.

Now, it is just shocking that so many teach on hell as though they have no cooking clue who God is.

God has about as much of a dark side to Him as the sun has ice!!!

Psalm 145:17 God is righteous in all His ways
1 John 1:5 God is light with no darkness in Him at all.
God is love 1 John 4:8.
God is just Psalm 89:14
God shows no partiality Acts 10:34

Hell is where those go who don't accept the way God has given everyone to stay out of there.

Non-acceptance Is rejecting,

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And what do those 'cherry picked' verses SAY about hell. It Is God's Word.

Those who Refuse to acknowledge hell / lake of fire and brimstone/ Will be responsible for Misleading people.

God is Holy / Righteous / Just.

God's justice is righteous.

I know your beliefs Sue. So let me correct you before you start suggesting '''Holy'' is a grey are for Him having a dark side.

God is holy because He is good and righteous. Righteous is doing what is... right.

Torture of any sort is not evidence of Holy, righteous or just. Never was and never will be.

One can truly tell how well they know God by what statements they make about hell / what He does to those who hate Him.

Christians don't realize the topic is glass / fragile / sensitive. One that none should discuss unless they know God and scripture well.

Because God is love. He doesn't want to have to send his children to Hell. People need to realize God didn't make Hell for man. All of us deserve to go there. I know I do for sure. But thank God for Jesus Christ sacrafice. Even angels rejoice when one accepts and surrenders their soul to Jesus holy Christ. We all could use the beautiful holy spirit. Plus Hell isn't torment for eternity. God is good. God is love. Hell is just a dark painful separation from God until He destroys man's souls. Only Satan and his fallen angels suffer eternity. Because of how many people they decieved and all the pain they caused. God would never could never torture man for eternity. I've always had a problem with Hell being portrayed as eternal. Revelation mentions the second DEATH. As servants of our LORD we should focus more on God's LOVE rather than Hell. Sorry I can't put Bible verses down just yet. I haven't read all the Bible yet. But I'm getting close.
God bless.
David.

And God has provided The way to stay Out / Away from the punishment Of hell / lake of fire and brimstone.

Every person makes his own decision as to whether or not to accept or reject God's way of staying Out of hell. The only ones' who are purposely Sent to the future lake of fire and brimstone are the beast, false prophet and satan.

Well a lot of people say, they believe in God and they are good people why do they need Jesus! Many also say, they believe in Jesus he die to save them, so they are saved. Because he die to saved the whole! And according some polls, most Christians do not believe in hell or the lake of fire. So why do they need to read their books or anything, just be happy and think like “Norman Vincent Peale”! For God is love! How could a loving God cast someone in to hell, just because they don’t believe in something so simple as that. Foolishness, God is love. That is how most people feels.

perhaps you should consider the word punishment instead of torture.

torture is inflicting pain on someone for there own pleasure,

and no one thinks God receives pleasure for punishing people.
I do consider hell to be punishment. Many teach it as eternal torture, when fully aware of the fact that every person on this planet knows that torture is the work of an evil person.

Now, God's punishment is always just. As Rom 2:6 explains.

Just, will never be burning in what we know to be fire for all eternity. Or seeing people screaming and suffering in a pain of sort. Never, ever will our God do this.

It would be like marrying someone who says they are sweet, holy and righteous but yet kick your dogs their whole life. The two just don't fit.

I am concerned about God's judgement of all those who espouse that He is wicked. Granted , some make many naive statements without actually thinking much about what they type. But those who make these statements fully aware of how much they taint God, oh boy. I don't want to be that person on judgement day.

We still do have the account of Lazarus and the rich man in Luke 16 vs 23,24.,26 - description Of and warning.

Revelation 20:10 - Lake of fire and brimstone for ever and ever / day and night.

That is God's Word telling it like it will be unless a person Does repent and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior.

yes, and that is the context in which hell needs to be discussed, if and when it is.
Christ and Him crucified

Bless you ....><>

Lazarus was in Hades. This is not eternal hell.

Also important to note that it was a fire unlike what we are used to. He was able to hold a conversation and asked only for a drop of water.

Revelation 20:10 - Lake of fire and brimstone for ever and ever / day and night.
Yes, hell is eternal. What is your point?

That is God's Word telling it like it will be unless a person Does repent and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
Yes, you have to give it to God. He tells it like it is. No beating around the bush.

We just have to grasp that He describes hell from His vantage point. Much like he did with earth when describing it to Adam and Eve. He gave them the bad news. He did not mention all the niceties. Adam and Eve knew God was good, so I guess He didn't need to.

Now, you come along and talk as though you have no clue who God is. See where I am going?

Please, nobody say anything about hell unless you actually know God. Otherwise you espouse a God with a dark side and are in danger of fiery judgement on yourself for miss-representing Him to the lost.

If you quote Lazarus to anyone, quote it with Psalm 145:17, Rom 2:6, 1 John 4:8 and 1 John 1:5. Or rather keep quiet. Unless you want to be a 100% enemy of God's. The devil miss-represents Him to the lost.

unless you actually know God

Greetings KingJ

love and peace to you.

I wouldn't base my ability etc on that alone! I would take it one step further and say unless you are known by Him, if you know what i mean.

Bless you and yours ....><>

@KingJ -- in other wards the rich man was very much conscious of his surroundings -- those in hell -- yes, the temporary abode until the future lake of fire and brimstone Do exist and people are taken from hell and put there.

The rich man was being reminded that he , himself, had the prophets to listen to and he wouldn't listen -- so no one was going to go warn his sinful brothers any more than he already had been warned. They will have to be wiling to listen for themselves.

It wasn't Lazarus -- it was the rich man.

My point is that Scripture Does tell us about hell and what it's like and what to expect. We need to read, listen and acknowledge what's there.

I'm very much aware of who God is. And people Also need to be aware of the reality of hell being what it is and the eternal destiny of those in there Now.

God does not send anyone to hell / lake of fire and brimstone. It's 'our' choice. But it's also dangerous to soft-peddle what hell is like now and what the future will be like. It will be horrendous - non-stop. As per Scripture.

The Only way to escape is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. God Want's a personal, loving relationship with Everyone -- but He Also knows Because of His omniscience that not everyone will.

"who so ever believeth" will have eternal, everlasting life.

I'm very much aware of who God is.
Don't take this the wrong way, but in all honesty I feel you have absolutely no clue about how good God is.

Nobody, can in fact grasp the workings of a being who defines Himself as LIGHT with NO DARKNESS in Him AT ALL 1 John 1:5.

As such it would be wise to err in this direction in every instance of the vastly unknown future.

But it's also dangerous to soft-peddle what hell is like now and what the future will be like. It will be horrendous - non-stop.
How do you know it will be horrendous? Show me the scripture you alluding to.

There are only one or two scriptures that state what exactly happens in hell and none of them teach '''horrendous'' things. I am being pedantic Sue, you / we need to clarify exactly what scripture says. I am so tired of people lying about hell.

Luke 13:28 says people weep and gnash their teeth because they look up and see they are cast out. Is that the kind of '''''horrendous'''''''thing you are alluding to?

The Only way to escape is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. God Want's a personal, loving relationship with Everyone -- but He Also knows Because of His omniscience that not everyone will.

"who so ever believeth" will have eternal, everlasting life.
Why do you keep saying this? Please stay on topic.
