Hi brother
Prayers according to Bible are:
1) Awlays and only to the Father. ( Jesus prayer was "Father glorified be your name" because was not totally manifest His name.
2) We only go to the Father through the name of Jesus:
"If you ask in my name ,i will do it that the Father be glorified IN the Son" So how you ask directly to Jesus in hius name? do you say "dear Jesus in the name of Jesus"? of course not! But you just go directly to Jesus.
-The He said "what ever you ask my Father in MY name, He will do it"
3) Examples of prayer in Jesus name:
-A)Of purpose! without actually reapeat "in the name of Jesus" :Acts 4: 24 "And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou [art] God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,; 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. "
-B) Directly in the name: Acts 7: 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
4) All prayers in Scripture are by the name "Lord" a) because in the Old Testament God was addressing like that and b) Because we acknowledge Jesus as Lord. (the Bible emphatically says that "there is only One Lord" and "there is only one body and One Spirit" and that "The Lord is that Spirit" and we know "God is Spirit" .
So to the question "do we pr;ay to the Spirit" there is a yes and no! Yes because God/Jesus is that Spirit and No because there is always the name Lord Jesus or the title Father and not His nature addressing .
The name that all baptisms were formed is JESUS:
Matt.28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Do you notice that there is only One singular name and not 3? He did not said "in the names" but "in the ONE name"
Peter (who had "the keys of the Kingdom" ) understood this name and baptised like that:
Acts 2: 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
8d of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
10¨48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
19¨: 5 When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Rom.6: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?1 2 Γαλ. 3:27; 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Now about the name of Jesus"
John 17"11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name which whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are]
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare [it]: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Rom 10 : 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That is the name of the LORD which is said in the Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
so Lord name is Jesus (Jesus means "Jehovah is salvation")
We also know that there is not "other name unfer the heaven that we can be saved"!!!!!
And that nbame is the name above all names!
Jesus came and manifest His Father`s name and inhered!!!!!
Phil.2: 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
(now about the Spirt we know that Jesus is the Spirit. . Look some names:
"The Spirit of Christ that was in the prophets"
"the Spirit of your Father"
"the Spirit of God"
"the Spirit of His SOn"
"the Spirit of glory"
"God is Spirit" (and He is Holy)
"Now the Lord is that Spirit" (2 Cor.) and we know there is only One Spirit and only One God and only One Lord. (this is very emphatic in the Bible, so what ever expression like "two lords" or "two spirits" i don't accept them)
We know Jesus said "the Spirit that the Father will send in MY name" and also "John 14: If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." 17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
glory to God!!!!!! i love you and everyone who loves the wonderful name of Jesus our Lord!!1
