Worship the Holy Spirit??

We worship a Triune God, Father Son and Holy Spirit, although I am not aware of scripture telling us to praise and worship the Holy Spirit, but God is spirit. '

I personally do not think God would be offended by this, after all the Holy Spirit is part of the God Head. I often thank the Father, Son and Holy Spirit individually and as God, I am sure I also sing their praises one by one and as God.

Is not the Holy Spirit part of God, are we not told to worship God, then how can it be wrong to pray and worship the Holy Spirit, providing we are not just singling Him out of the three.

Just my thoughts Dave

Well -- that which We . personally, think or feel isn't especially the Biblical thoughts or feelings. I Could Think or Feel that I'm a pretty good person all on my own and that I don't Need salvation. But we all know that That isn't the case.

There's a passage that says to worship God in spirit and in truth. Just found that in John 4:23 probably the entire chapter for context. There's a difference between 'spirit and Spirit' the small s and the capital S.

The Holy Spirit Is part of the trinity / Godhead.

The Holy spirit does have other names @KingJ

Jesus said I will send a 'helper'

We are also told the Holy Spirit will be: Comforter, Counsellor, Advocate

These three words are translations of the Greek parakletos, from which we get “Paraclete,” another name for the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit has many Functions in the role of Being the Holy Spirit. Those various roles Are comforter, counselor, advocate, convictor of sins , the Holy Spirit comes to indwell each believer and seals our soul to keep it safe until the believer is with Jesus Christ.

As human beings - I - am on here as Sue D. and I have many roles -- mother, grandmother, housewife, driver of a car, payer of the bills.

What or who is the Holy Spirit?
Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

His name is the "Holy Spirit", and he is God

Yes, they are Both part of the trinity --- God, the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit.

None of these are nouns.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Many OT verses call Him 'God's Spirit'. We are to call Him the Holy Spirit. This is not a name.

@King J -- The Holy Spirit is the 3rd part of the trinity -- in the Bible / God's Word / 'it' the Holy Spirit is called / referred to in that way -- simply the Holy Spirit. So -- that Is 'his' name -- Holy Spirit.
God is God the Father. And Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That's just 'how it is'. :)

Let me explain BIBLICAL who is the Holy Spirit.

Due the teaching of the false trinity god in the majority churches today, many Christians do not known the truth regarding the Holy Spirit. So I will share the truth regarding the Holy Spirit as to where it comes from and who's presence it bring to us.

Important note!
Let me confirm that I'm not trying to describe the nature of the Holy Spirit. As this is a mystery. I am simply sharing the clear Bible true of WHO'S presence it bring to us. God has not revealed the nature of the Holy Spirit, but He has revealed where it comes from, and WHO'S presence it bring to us.

Revelation 5:1,6,7. Acts 2:32-33.

According to post # 68 by @Curtis it is clear that there is a trinity. The only argument I raise is that He is not someone we should worship.

The Holy Spirit

Is the Author of scripture

The Bible is inspired, literally “God-breathed,” by the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. The Spirit moved the authors of all 66 books to record exactly what He breathed into their hearts and minds.

2 Peter 1:19-21 (NKJV)
19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:12-17 (NKJV)
12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

He has many jobs, He has some task list. He is...

Comforter, Counsellor, Advocate (Isaiah 11:2, John 14:16, John 15:26, John 16:7)
Helper and Guide (John 16:7, John 16:13))
Down payment for our inheritance, the Holy Spirit has sealed our salvation (2 Cor 1:22)
He is the indweller (Romans 8:9-11)
He is revealer of Truth, the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17, John 16:13, 1 Cor 2:12-16)
He is the Spirit of Life (Romans 8:2)
He is intercessor (Roman 8:26)
He is Spirit of God (Matthew 3:16, 2 Cor 3:17)
Convicter of sins (John 16:7-11)
and probably more.

His Name is Holy Spirit as others have stated above.

Greetings,

Is there more than one baptism?

My response -- there is the initial 'baptism of the Holy Spirit' when the Holy Spirit initially indwells a person --baptism means immersing -- a person's soul is totally immersed by the Holy Spirit upon salvation. and the Holy Spirit stays in that person.
The visual baptism is when a person is baptized by immersion with other people present. To signify publically the decision that has already been made in their heart,.

Acts 19:1-7 NASB
It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples. [2] He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." [3] And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said, "Into John's baptism." [4] Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus." [5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. [7] There were in all about twelve men.

Notice these men had already been water baptized. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is not water baptism.

The people in the upper room had already been baptized in water as well. Before the day of Pentecost

Acts 10:44-48 NASB
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. [45] All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. [46] For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered, [47] "Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?" [48] And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

It was the same with Cornelius and his family. After they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They were baptized in water. These are not the same baptism.

Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

There is only "one" baptism, but there are "multiple instances" of that "one baptism."

There is baptism by water. (Matt 28:19)
There is baptism in the Holy Spirit. (Matt 3:11)
There is baptism by one Spirit into one body. (1 Cor 12:13)

The Lord God only sees these three as "one" baptism.

There is a trio not a three gods in one my friend. Do you have read a passage that the Farher or Jesus has talk with the Holy Ghost? Or where can I read those three have talk with each other? Do you have read that the apostles have baptizing in the name of the Holy Spirit? Read the book of acts again. Do the begin their briefing with a greeting to a trinity or two person? And also closed it in three person? Or three gods?

Take care what Paul have says in Galatians 1:1-10!
