Wouldn't it be jeopardizing the public health for churches to open up in spite of "Covid-19" is still active, but less because of "low contact"

What does the world suppose to act like? Answer: "The World".

(2 Corinthians 4:4)
in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them .

(John 14:30)
Jesus said:
0“I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; 31but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.

(John 12:31) ASV
31“Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out.

Who is the Prince of this world and who gave him the power to be so?

(Luke 4) NIV
5The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

Why is it so hard for Christians to believe the whole bible? Yet they say; they are believers, Oh I get it, cherry picking believers.

I'm in London, where the infection now seems to be under control. But a month or so ago it was pretty desperate here. Quite a few of my friends and colleagues have lost parents to the coronavirus. In the UK the government's approach has not been shown to be sinister, but it has been widely criticised as slow, dithering, and inconsistent.

There were similar restrictions during the 1918 flu pandemic.

I'm not in the US, so won't venture opinions on the individual decisions made. But from what I can see, individual states have made judgement on what constitutes an 'essential medical procedure'. Many have shut down abortion clinics States shut down abortion clinics as non-essential medical procedure in crisis

Hi @PloughBoy I'm not sure what or who your target is in this post.

Why is it so hard for Christians to believe the whole bible? Yet they say; they are believers, Oh I get it, cherry picking believers.

you know what the bible says about those who cant tame there tongue, yes I am pointing at you !!! you know what the bible says about those who exalt themselves, and dont humble themselves?? yes I am pointing at you.

you are a divider not a encourager,, you know what the bible says about that??

I bear witness here and now against PloughBoy do I have a second witness?

its time for you to change!! and use all that wonderful knowledge you have, to serve people,, and help people,, and love on people. NOT to belittle people and exalt yourself, you are better then that.

God-bless

Oh, because I quote "Holy Scripture" instead of my own views. Oh just because, reading the Word of God is my chief joy. And has larbor very diligently. For over 40 years In the word of truth, and chose not to lean upon my own understanding and trust in the unadulterated Word of truth turning not to right or left, no matter how painful it might be and that I put my trust in no man, for mankind are sinners and they still try to justify that they are not. And the Word of God has found them liars. For Jesus is still sitting on the right hand of the Father making intercession to the Father for His own.
So, yes I am a sinner for it is my nature, and yes He died for me and He is making intercession for me before The Father, for He is my savior, He is my God, He is my Salvation, And I do believe this to be true: on that special day of inauguration: and every word that has rose up against me in my defense and proclamation and errors by my own ignorance of His truth and have been declared "guilty even by my own conscious". I hope this will remain true by my own understanding in light of "Holy Scripture"

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This isthe heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD."

31What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” j
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, kneither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So I say this in light of "Holy Scripture" I wear your complaints as if they are badges of honor, and I criticize you not, for I do believe it is the will of God in you doing so, to aid in the sanctification of my soul. And I considered it: "blessed by God".:)

Gal 5:18; But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
Gal 5:19; Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
Gal 5:20; idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
Gal 5:21; envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The fruit of the Spirit is pretty evident in some people, but the fruit of the flesh is evident in other people.
I will say, there are some people here on TalkJesus who seems to look for fights, arguments, debates and strife just for the sake of argument.
I sometimes wonder if they are just lonely and need someone to talk to. Now everybody has a disagreement at some point. I've had my share here on TalkJesus.
But some people make a lifestyle out of it. Every post in every thread is something to argue or bicker about. Rarely do they post anything edifying, uplifting or loving.
I just think this is something we all need to be careful of.

As I have observed through biblical history , that is OT through NT.... church fathers, the Reformation " the enlightenment" , and still going on. The Bible is a book about War and debates. The warfare has always been inside of Gods camp as well as outside but mostly inside, from Genesis to Revelation. The Battle is within "Jesus came not to bring peace but a sword"! The Bible is a book about War! We try to live peaceful in Christ. Notice I said in Christ, many Christians do not even know what that means and the repercussions of doings so. Why? Because it is also is a battle to know the truth. There is no real battle for a true Christian who lives in complacency, There is no real battle for a Christian who really is not full and read the volume of the Book. For they see no need. For the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit! The written Word. How sharp is your sword. How skill are you in the Word how much is flowing in you? Do you tell little white lies about your studying into its truth? How many times you have read from front to back in your years of being a Christian. Does it make you angry when this kind of talk arises? Why? Because the Devil do not want you to be a formidable foe, against his legions of thoughts patterns and more. The Bible address the war in heaven, the war between nations, the wars between the 12 tribes of Israel, the wars of Angels against human armies, the fightings against sons and fathers, the fightings among brothers, about rapes in families and outside of families, about human sacrifices among the Israelites, So many fightings clear up to the end of Revelation, a book of blood baths and no Christian seems to want to talk about it or read the stories of "The Word of God" but only want to cherry pick the truth. The Book is about your Father and His will is done on earth as it is done in Heaven! For He Is Lord God Almighty! Read and edify about His character and His dealing with mankind.

It is a "Spiritual Battle" just to read it from front to back. And more battles to come. There are no, I say again no short cuts! You only fooling yourself and those who hear you, when you say or believe you do not have to take this path. I am not speaking about salvation here. But true biblical warfare. You need your sword of the Spirit, and to be skillful with i!

Gal 5:22; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23; gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Rom 12:18; If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

2Tim 2:24; The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,
2Tim 2:25; with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

Jas 3:13; Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

1Cor 13:1; If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
1Cor 13:2; If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

People can have a lot of Bible knowledge, they can know a lot, about a lot of things. But if they don't have love, peace and gentleness also... anything they say is just noise.
If we don't correct people in love... we are just a clanging cymbal.

my reply:
I was not referring to bible knowledge. I was referring to getting to know your GOD , if you are a true Christian. How are you going to know the "SON of GOD' who is "The WORD" if you do not spend time with "The WORD"?

7Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
"The WORD" is in "The BOOK" and His description and His character, He reveals Himself there.

And concerning "love", his Love is no way like the world's love, the word "love" as the world knows is like darkness and light in comparison. The world calls God's love hate! what fellowship has darkness with light! The world lies in darkness. And this is not figurative language it is the truth.

The world is so in the dark that it cannot see that in "THE BOOK" is where you find JESUS! and in there He will reveal who the Father is. When in the Book, it says, In the beginning was "The WORD", and THE WORD was with GOD, and How the WORD became flesh and walked among us. Then you try to tell them to Read "THE WORD", Then a dum look come over their faces....... plain language and most christians don't get it either, not realizing how they are also walking in darkness not fully understand the truth of the light of written WORD of GOD.! Because they must walk in the Light, which is the very "WORD of GOD" and most still don't get it although they have become born from above. and have the Holy Spirit in them for guidance in "THE WORD", by not engaging in such truth, their thinking is still only worldy and year after year same knowledge is pouring out of their mouth and spirit. Sad, and they grow horns by you telling them to read The BOOK from front to back. and the BOOK is ABOUT GOD! The Devil hates The Bible and do not want you to read it in it's entirety. On a number of times. The devl will never tell you to read your Bible in such a way! The Devil will convince you not to read it in such a way, and make you feel it does not matter! He will do you the same way he done Eve in the Garden! Trick you and say it does not take all of that, I am not talking about salvation here, I am talking about reading your BIBLES in its entirety and quit lying to yourself. It is for your benefit!

You kind of sound like you're putting yourself in a higher/ better catagory than 'most Christians'.

Christians are Christ-followers = Christ-ones so please lets' Not say that 'most Christians' are walking in the dark.

And you're Also saying that unless a person reads the Entire Bible -- cover to cover -- they can't Really know God as He's meant To be known. Well -- that Is your perspective and your own perspective is important to You, but don't be condemning other Christians when they Don't. There are portions that Are harder to grasp -- my thing are the Minor Prophets. They Are written in the English language, but they don't make sense to me. There's plenty of Other Scripture that makes very Good sense to me.

In another thread he says some people can never understand the Bible no matter how hard they try.

So which is it, they have to know the Bible, or they can't know the Bible?

He has too many conflicting ideas. (and not just about this subject)

Well what category would a person belong to: Was there not a "Great Commission"!
American Standard Version
"Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:" After a person has been "born from above', that person has to be taught to be a "disciple" of Christ, and in order to be a skill disciple of Christ: That person has to "read and study" his bible so that person can rightly divide "The Word of Truth". That person has to study to show themselves to be approved unto God.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness."

Yes i am saying that you cannot really know God like you should. The Written "WORD" is GOD! what part of " In the beginning was the "WORD". The Son of God, is the 'WORD', the Son of GOD is The Written "WORD", Jesus is The "WORD" wrap up in th flesh. Jesus is "Reveal" in the "Written WORD" Many christians do not understand what The Written WORD" is, They try to confine His nature, his being, Outside of "HIM", [The WORD], in most christians thought pattern, They just want a little of GOD,[The WORD].

The reason why some parts are harder to grasp, because GOD has not reveal that part to you yet, in most cases, the reason is you have not believed or obeyed, the things that He has already reveal to you in the written WORD. Don't try to figure it out, obey the hard truths that you do know. Romans chapter 1,, goes for true christians too! If you don't retain the already truths, reprobation will take shape in us too, to a certain degree. You cannot cherry pick "GOD" [The WORD].

I know these are hard truths, But Sue, There is more treasure there, treasure for you! things that you don't understand will come to light in "Hidden" places in "scripture'. Then time after time, You can be doing the dishes, washing your clothes, sweeping the floor, or setting the table, Then in a flash, those missing pieces you ponder or didn't understand will connect to other scripture or stories in "The Bible", they will act like connecting links traveling in light speed, it will overwhelm you! You will want to look around or call someone, to express how the "WORD" came to life to you. But it is impossible,

Then you will understand and compel others to start the process of become a Reader of God's WORD, for is hidden treasure there, "labor not for the food that perishes but for the food that :

"Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

"In a sense it seems too simple to get such a reward, and in another sense it is so hard' Is it a paradox? Answer; not really!

God never lies! "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

P.S. When i was young, i remember my uncle would tell me, when we were fixing things, he would say to me. C______, when you are working on things, make sure you have the right tools of a good brand for the job that you are applying yourself to, and your labor will be more delightful with less stress."

In my earlier bible studies i took that to heart.

1. "ISBE" [International Standard Bible Encyclopedia]
2. "Vine Dictionary of New Testament Words' earlier copyright.
3. "Strongs" concordance and "Youngs" concordance"
4. New Scofield, Reference or Study System,, KJV, Bible, copyright 1967 or 1990. only for a good reason. since i might have worn out about 5 of them i know the difference in later copyrights by comparing them in reading.
5. Reading bibles I favor: KJV, Oxford , NIV earlier versions Thompson Chain, ASV [American Standard], RSV [Revised Standard Version}] earlier versions.
earlier version for me would be 20th century, versions.

Internet versions of ISBE or Vines, Strongs or Youngs, or lexicons does not come to par.

These items in book form will make your studying enjoyable even as you are traveling across the dessert and barren lands of reading Your Bible. for all these item are bible and not man's opinion.

You will not be wasting you time! your journey will be thrilling with excitement if you take these items with you.

In another thread he says some people can never understand the Bible no matter how hard they try.

So which is it, they have to know the Bible, or they can't know the Bible?

He has too many conflicting ideas. (and not just about this subject)
That is a true statement, because the Word of God is for True Christians and The real truth of the Bible is reveal to you by Jesus Christ with the guidance of the "Holy Spirit" that guides us into all truth> What is the Truth?
(John 17)
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.--JOHN 17:17. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.--Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul: discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep

May we all, have a mind such as this and convey such truth. To inspire, those who have been "born from Above" to let the whole word of God dwell in them richly in all wisdom. Not some wisdom. Is it not, wise to read all of God's Word, every dot, and tittle? If it is God's word, is it not here for us to read it. Remember it is not about living a good life, it is about knowing our Father and His SON.

@PloughBoy -- you'res saying that the reason I don't understand some parts of Scripture is because I haven't yet obeyed that which I already have read?!

How about 'this' thought -- IF we were meant to be able To understand every part of God's Word -- then that would put on the same level As God. Obviously we're Not. There is that portion that says God's ways are not our ways and our ways are not God's Ways. We are finite beings -- God is Infinite. No one will ever understand all of God'sWord. We're not Meant to.

I would agree -- when we're working on a home improvement job or making something -- we Do want to have the right tools to work with. My late husband and I built two houses. And remodeled them. He figured out what we needed and we went to Home Depot or Lowes to get what we needed. We didn't need Every tool they carried. We got only what we Needed.

And, actually when reading /studying God's Word we don't really Need all those study aides. They can be interesting, yes. And we can end up spending nearly every waking moment studying and be Wanting to share with someone. But that means we need to be where other people are. Fellowshiping with other people / other believers / getting to know our neighbors. Get to know Others -- see what They are all about. Sharing back and forth. And it probably will happen that 'we' will be learning from Them.

And, yes, there Are times when some passage Does become more understandable.

But it Also helps to be aware of what's going on around us in this world. Engage in conversations.

As a person is in God's Word, we will gain insight as to how to live a Godly life. So, yes, Christian living.

So God wasted His time of putting himself in writings. And families died violent deaths to make sure the manuscripts where fully translated in which it was not needful. A very sad epitaph for Christians who wasted their time and died for nothing in for portions that is not needed to read. What a waste of time and blood. That does not mean nothing. Or thought to give recognition , Because we don't need all of that. And God has place something in a book we do not need and in essence He made a mistake and I do not need it. Just live a peaceful life and make people happy. That is all that is reguired and be good people and help make this a better world.'

They died for nothing. And need not to be remembered. Writing all that stuff, what a waste. That is what I am hearing from the opposition of " let the whole counsel of God dwell in you, every dot and tittle richly" the reading it 's entirety is a waste and with no Godly benefits,

I have heard in my life on a number of times since I was "born from about", this: "I want what you got but not that much"! That to me seems ironic.

I figure they do not want the "boldness" but when you are full of the Word of God by the volume of the book and trying your best to walk in it, because it causes a "Inplosion" in you that causes a explosion from you. The word Power in the NT is really in certain causes means"Dunamis or Dynamite". The Word of God in its entirety will produce a explosion when produce in you. " And you shall receive power, power to do what? explode! Concerning withessing about the Word of God!
When that power is reffering to Jesus when He rose from the grave, the Word for power was in transliteration instead of "Dunamis" it is "exousia" meaning "AUTHORITY"! In context it went way beyond the power we received at rebirth.

So how much Of GOD do you want? Like most; just enough to get in.
They like to live on the edge.

For search the Scritures for in them, you think you have eternal life.
Work out your own salvation in fear and trembling.

Read the fine print.
Have you read the whole contract or the whole covenant?

You do know what a covenant is right.
In the Bible there is a Covenant given to Abraham in the OT writings, and please if possible do not explain to me all the covenants within the Covenant. I have read the Book ok. More than I can count.

5 was wise and 5 was foolish, the 5 foolish didn't have enough oil, how much fuel do you have in your tank?
Have you ever ran out of gas when you thought you had enough?

And before you go to bed tonight , you think about what I have said, long and hard. "He that has ears to hear, let him hear"

"I am thinking already"! I,have scared my own self".! It must be that double edge sword thing. I'm shaking.

"And before you go to bed tonight, you think about what I have said, long and hard. "He that has ears to hear, let him hear'"

I would have No intention of explaining Anything to you - covenants or anything else.

You have a good night's sleep also.

LOL, ok just keep me in your prayers, if you don't mind.
