Hebrews 6
4. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5. and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6. if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
I firmly believe that this is referring to a person who is born again, who is on there way to heaven, NO one becomes a partaker of the Holy spirit unless they are born again. no one is truly enlightened unless they are born again.
IF they fall away, I always wondered what falling away was versus sinning, because I know if we sin we can repent.
But I never realized the last part of verse 6 tells me what falling away is. Him is the, Holy Spirit, YAW. So if we openly put him to shame, that is falling away and your done you can no longer repent. Now we can also tie this verse to.
Luke 12 -10
10. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
But repentance, when we are convicted by sin, we know we have a advocate in Jesus. That we can go to the thrown room of God by and through Jesus to ask for forgiveness.
John 2-1
1. My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
I do believe we are talking about loosing your salvation when you fall away, denying the power of God, openly denying the power of God.
I do believe that we all will stumble in sin on occasion, and it will convict us and turn to repent, and we will be forgiven.
I do believe every time Jesus says we must endure to the end he is speaking about salvation.
