Declining Churches

I'm going by what I have seen n exactly look at the amount of temples or perhaps you don't believe when the Word says remnants...
In the same way then, there has come to be at the present time a remnant according to God's gracious choice.”

I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be …

I'm not debating with you what I have seen and witnessed.. n to be honest if you haven't experienced Imma wonder just how sheltered you are or just how much you turn a blind eye many do that to..

1. Not all building you see are Godly churches nor are the men who "pastor" them. Anyone can build one and stick a trained wordsmith to preach the Prosperity Gospel and people will call it a "church". I don't see many true Godly temples and even the ones around here are "soft churches" b/c the Truth, including Hell, damnation, and God's judgment on the unrepentant sinners will be many but swift and just.
2. I've been to the Middle East and I can assure there are NO Christian churches there. That is Islam/aka cult direct from Satan's *words I won't use here*.
3. I'm not either. I'm a realist more than most things. Most American churches do NOT repeat God's word IN FULL. They only care about numbers which they report to that group's "official" head group.
When numbers get low, that's when they break out the all to familiar shouting preaching that ALL are taught in seminary school. I've seen it almost every pastor you can think off and then some. Watch them. See how many say something and then "Pause for Effect".
The explosion of knowledge and exposure (internet) is huge compared to when it was barely a thing.

Younger people have seen the un Christlike behavior in people who claim to be christians, and it turns them off to christianity. They look to the fallen and assume all churches are filled with fallen people who are not genuine in their faith.

Its why more ppl are interested in Islam, now those people are serious about faith, even if it is wrong.

Amen! Matthew 25:1-13

IMO, I think the biggest barrier is humanity's need for acceptance. The world in large hates Christians and God and "They" have no problem going after the younger generations.
In public schools for sure, you'll always have groups and in part the Christian groups are seen as "weird".
Thankfully, I have one nephew with strong Christian parents. He just graduated this year and last night had a Bible group meeting after visiting with us.
These kids are the ones we need to protect and educate the most, IMO.

Col 2:4 I say this in order that no one may mislead and delude you by plausible and persuasive and attractive arguments and beguiling speech.

Col 2:5 For though I am away from you in body, yet I am with you in spirit, delighted at the sight of your [standing shoulder to shoulder in such] orderly array and the firmness and the solid front and steadfastness of your faith in Christ [that leaning of the entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. (AMP)

what kind of fellowship is this that Paul was referring to about the church? Fellowship without being physically gathered together?

He allows us to see the fruit and allows us a choice to join in evil or to turn from It He allows us to hear and follow the Truth or to follow the Teachings of man.. like I said u may need them synagogues of Satan lead by the false teacher being paid by those who attend so they can receive what he is selling.. I do not... U sure are for them false temples tho perhaps u r a follower of their ways? Idk.. but ur barking at the wrong tree..if ya think ya can uproot from the Word and replant me in the worlds ways ur sadly mistaken..n fyi i have no dress clothes im not of the world nor its ways..

There is a difference between correcting each other as given in the Bible vs "bad mouthing and hypocritical judgement".
More Christians need to learn the Right way than the wrong way.

I'm sorry, I have to disagree with you here. No way is Christianity taking a nose dive into the abyss. Christianity is very much alive and performing miracles, right here, right now. Every day, millions of souls are being snatched from the grasp of Satan and saved to everlasting glory; how wonderful is that? OK, so there's not very many perfect Christians with no sin and no faults, but that's OK because Jesus has paid the punishment for all of their failings, and more importantly, mine to.

Can I urge you to open up to the glory of God, deepen your experience of Him through prayer, mediating, the Bible and sharing with other like minded believers? There's some amazing truths waiting to be discovered, all you need do is to open your heart to the working of the life changing Holy Spirit and you'll experience just a smidging of God's greatness, a little taster of what's coming your way when Jesus returns or you go upstairs, whichever's the sooner.

OK, so in the west there's more than a few churches that are a bit thin on the ground in terms of bums on pews, but that's only what Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24:10-13 and later Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3. But the truth is that our God is spectacularly great and His feeble enemy Satan, is fighting for his survival, and he's pretty much lost that battle. Revelation 1:17-18.

Hope that cheers you up. God bless you.

Idk why so many think Yeshua told the sinners to go to a temple or church.. Yeshua went out to the people
2Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3“Take nothing for your journey,” he instructed them.
short time after Jesus' transfiguration, he appointed seventy-two people to go out two-by-two and preach the Good News to each town before he visited it.
And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

Hubby and I are not welcomed in them false temples frfr.. last one preacher man said

I was baptized 7 x in this tub here before I came up speaking in tongue I politely asked him not to touch me for I Know not what spirits dwell in him..n that preacher man's wife was a wicked one.... she was puffed up about leading the preacher man away from the Lord

Greetings in the Lord
Those teaching will receive the greater condemnation.
They don't obey God, but the hierarchy of man; you know, appeasing their itching ears.

The ones that have the Holy Ghost doesn't need a teacher.
The Holy Ghost is the only true Teacher.
He sends us in there to teach, to stir the spirits
So they may grow up a bit.
Well, even the devil recognize the light that burns so bright in us and the strong arm of man hinders us from giving them the message God sent us with.

Our candle wasn't meant to be hidden away in the closet, but to be on the lamp stand that all can see.

So when (they) wouldn't receive Him, He went outside and taught, and (they) came outside to try catch Him in His words, screaming blasphemer! Jealous they are.
Some of (them) received Him, but not all. They still wait for Messiah to come.
Did (they) learn from their mistakes?
No, because they have not believed on the only begotten Son of God.
Will they do it again?
Yes, they will kill again; because one believes on the only begotten Son of God.

All praise glory and honor be unto God.

Every Christian I know believes they have the holy ghost. Pentecostals believe they are baptized in the holy ghost. Problem is - they all disagree with one another. Christians seem to think that the holy spirit enlightens them and nothing else. It's no wonder there are so many holier than thou uppity believers these days. They build themselves up by claiming holy ghost power over others.

Oh how great the light shines within the Spirit filled believer.
Jesus referred to the wind as the Holy Ghost.
I can't see the wind, where it comes or goes, but I can feel it, I can hear it.
Listen to the spirit that speaks...
remember even the devil knows the Word but he will twist it abit and give glory to himself.

True He has a baptism to be baptized with; it is spiritual and a testimony follows.

There's a church a couple blocks from me, their preacher doesn't know if he's saved or not; right out of his own mouth. And he's their teacher and they love him...? Still pointing at a sin filled cross, and knows John 3:16 like the back of his hand. They are stuck right there.
He told the congregation that he's scared to let anyone else preach, cause he's afraid they will like them better then him. I knew he was talking about me. I was the only new duck on the pond.
I dropped seeds where I could; and left.

Now what can we do to help?
Be Christ like.
What did He do?
He went out into the villages, and cities and taught.
We are to preach the Gospel of God, bringing sinners to repentance.

I remember the first house God sent me too.
I pulled up and there was a giant bridle bit across the doors.
He spoke in an audible voice saying "they will not receive you, because they have not received Him who sent you."

Ok, but I still didn't get it, until I walked in His shoes.
I spoke the scripture only, rightly dividing the Word of truth, and they hated me for it.
I'm talking about a church with a handful of people.
Their preacher forcefully removed me off the throne of Grace, lifting me up by the arm, washing God's feet with my tears, for them.
Ya, he took me to the back and called me the devil, said I been listening to the "other guy". Not once could he lift his head and look me in the eye. He committed the only unforgivable sin; blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.
And I watched; the next Sunday morning he called for the elders to come pray over him, cause he wanted that off him, he said. I sat still on the pew. They all gathered around him, he said" I'm old Stoney, that's Rocky back there", as he pointed at me.
I was there for 7 months. God trying to gather them up as a hen gathers her chicks under her wing but they would not.
So many things went down in there; spiritual things.
They conspired against me, how to get rid of me; even locked the church down for a month.
One woman was a sorceress that conjured spirits; yep she sent them to get me... well, it's apparent that didn't work.

I grew tremendously, but a dark veil fell upon them. Sigh...

You can not save, those that are saved.
Even those that confess His name only, He brings them too, for He can not deny Himself.
Gather with them, reprove, reproach, rebuke, only if God opens a door of utterance for you. He will give ye what ye ought to say. He will not put more on you then you can bare. Be kind, love them, as He has loved you.

All praise glory and honor be unto God. Amen

God's church existed long before a building became a standard.
If John can do it looking like a ragged mountain man and in a river I'm down for it being outside in good weather.

I have been to 5 churches lately.
The members in each of them were my age or older.
Maybe 1 had a couple under 30.
None had infants or small children.
Not a problem at "Crossroads of Life" AG church in DeSoto, TX or "The Oaks Fellowship" AG Church in Red Oak, TX all ages, no DOMINANT racial concentration, and Kids out the gazoo. The "Oaks" just baptized over 150 people in morning service.

I'm surprised reading the thread above that posters have assumed these congregations are synagogues of Satan, teaching false doctrine, or Pharisees.

Nobody seems to have considered that they might be small groups of faithful sincere followers of Jesus committed to serving and worshipping together.
The people around us are either brothers and sisters in Christ or neighbors. God administers faith and gives us his holy spirit, but I believe he only gives what one is able to handle. The Way is a lifelong walk and we trip and stumble our way through it always seeking truth. The bible and, I believe, some of the extrabiblical writings, is God's amazing instruction manual to mankind. We struggle to stay focused and keep his commandments, but our Lord Yeshua knows our struggle, he already walked that road.

But the Mega-Churches are packed full!

There's one in a town nearby me. They have to have local police direct traffic on the highway when they hold Church meetings. People come from out of state.

So what's different that they are doing, and the small Churches hurting for membership is not?

By talking to some of the Mega-Church members, they said they have a lot... of music playing, and usually some Country music stars will show up. So celebrities is one of the main attractions, and the parking lot does look like a huge concert parking lot!

That Mega-Church is putting on a show, and calling that having Church.

In my opinion then, the problem appears to be about what folks are looking for, and it is not really about discipline in study and preaching of God's Word. Instead, they want to FEEL GOOD, told they are doing GOOD. That Mega-Church is selling EMOTION RIDES more than anything.

I was raised in a Protestant Christian Church denomination that was steeped in men's seminary doctrine of Preterism (from 'preter', which means 'what is past'). I didn't know what that was until I finally was baptized and God hit me with the urge to study His Word. They taught a little Old Testament history, like you would to a 2nd grader, and taught no end time prophecy, but even said just about all of the Book of Revelation was already fulfilled except Christ's future coming (which isn't true). They taught mostly to have good works.

What God has shown me in His Word, I know if I attend a Church system like that again, I'm going to stir up trouble for them, because I cannot stand for brethren to be just be lied to in order to get their money to keep such a deceived system going. Thus I do not feel sorry for their failing attendance, nor any other Church 'system' that deceives their members, especially when ran by a hireling (see John 10).

What is happening with this matter today is actually a Bible prophecy for the end, per Amos 8:9-12, that God would send a famine in the land, not a famine for bread or water, but a famine of hearing the words of The LORD, and looking everywhere for the word of The LORD and not finding it.
