God Creating Hardships

Exactly an enemy. Not God

I really don't have any time or attitude.
I was writing fast in between breaks. Maybe that's it.
I apologize if I sounded harsh.
Blessings to you
As to the other part. I already knew that would not show what i was saying in the beginning. And you'll have to forgive this old man that types with one finger on a cell phone. And would be happy to use a mechanical typerwriter over this any day of the week.

God uses our affliction to show His Glory. Simply put, look at Jesus. Did he not suffer hardships. Doesnt Jesus ask us to also, "carry your cross". And through the hardship, the suffering of Christ, we see the Glory of God.

Look at every miricle Jesus performed. All the different healings. All of those people walked in some form of hardship through thier lives. God allowed it to be this way. All the healing Gave Glory to God.

I know full well, as you (maybe it was at Peace who said it) that our God is not an egotist. Yet, all the Greatness gives God Glory.

Somehow this thread has veered. I'm shocked! :)

But since we are on the subject of Job....

Job 1:13; Now on the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house,
Job 1:14; a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,
Job 1:15; and the Sabeans attacked and took them. They also slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
Job 1:16; While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
Job 1:17; While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three bands and made a raid on the camels and took them and slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
Job 1:18; While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house,
Job 1:19; and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
Job 1:20; Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped.
Job 1:21; He said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return there. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD."
Job 1:22; Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.

Talk about a bad day. Four messengers come... each with worse news than the previous messenger.
All your servants (except me) are dead. All your livestock is dead. All your camels and transportation are gone.
then finally... all your sons and daughter are dead too. It seems this all happened on the same day.

It seems to me... the purpose of Satan testing Job... was to see if he "would" sin when the trials came.
Verse 22 says he (Job) did not sin. (at least on this day). Yet Job acknowledges "the LORD has taken away".
But he did this in a way... "nor did he blame God".

The collateral damage here is hard to take in. Atheists and non Christians have used this passage to show how
"evil" God is. What did Job lose?

Job 1:2; Seven sons and three daughters were born to him.
Job 1:3; His possessions also were 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female donkeys, and very many servants; and that man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

10 children. 11,000 animals,... and "very many" servants. The question has been asked... why did God take the lives of his "innocent"
family? I don't know how innocent they were.

Job 1:5; When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, "Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did continually.

Job seems to think it's possible that they sinned. Now we may think that Job sinned "just like everyone else". But it seems Job was different. No one else on the earth was "like him".

Job 1:8; The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil."

Job 2:3; The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause."

If anything... this seems to say to me.... even if you "are" blameless and upright, bad things can happen to you.

Still God was willing to take away Job's family to prove a point to Satan.

2 Tim 3:12; Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

If you want to get technical... God didn't do anything to Job's family. He "allowed" Satan to do these things.
I believe it is the same way today. Satan may do "bad things" to us, and those we love. But not without God's permission.

Other's in the Bible didn't do as well as Job when they were tested.

Luke 22:31; "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;

No apology needed :) I think it happens as often as not. I'm as guilty as anyone. I think I may have been the one to bring up Job.

Doesnt Jesus ask us to also, "carry your cross". And through the hardship, the suffering of Christ, we see the Glory of God.
Suffer for Christ and taking up our cross is simply doing things His way and not ours. Denying ourselves for His Ways.

God allowed it to be this way. All the healing Gave Glory to God.
People say today that God Allowed it like it came across His desk and He decides to ALLOW you to have a hardship, sickness or tragedy and that simply is not true.

Far Too Many things happen that is out of God's control at this time.
Blessings to you

Jim could you provide scripture for this line of reasoning ?

it hard to understand what you are saying sometimes. God controls everything, but allows things to happen because of our choices this I would agree with. But nothing is out of Gods control at anytime. Perhaps we are saying the same thing in a different way?

Romans 11:33-36
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

No, as for Job. I brought him up a while ago on the other thread.

As for Job sinning, that is not in scripture. God speaking to Satan shows that Job was sinless in the eyes of God. And that is all that Really matters

Exactly but it was not He who pit the hardships on them.
It would be nearly impossible for God not being involved one way or another. Certainly we all have free will. But those who are born with affliction. God refers to the children as innocent. God even states, if anyone causes one of these to fall, it would be better that a millstone be tied to thier neck and you thrown in the sea. (Someting like that, iwould have to look up exact quote).

I say this, because you are so adimit about sins being passed on. I am aware of curses, but that is totally something else.

So Jesus tells us of the innocence of children. When a child is born healthy or handicapped, there is no sin to behold except Adam's. ( the only sins that are "passed on" are they type that cause issues. Example, using heroin while pregnant causes the baby to have an addiction at birth. Or drinking alcohal when pregnant, or parents who fight while the woman is pregnant causes high stress in infants, etc etc. ) im not talking this.

Im talking about a child born innocent. With no known reason not to be healthy AS WE SEE IT. God allows this to happen, OFTEN. It is in His purpose. We commonly cant see it, because we arnt looking at things through Gods eyes. Only our own

Nothing is out of Gods control. (I know you mean something different. Because you do know about God being in control)

Dont worry. I mess up to, getting thought to paper

Wow!!

Isa 40:26; Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.

Jer 31:35; Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is His name:
Jer 31:36; "If this fixed order departs From before Me," declares the LORD, "Then the offspring of Israel also will cease From being a nation before Me forever."

Luke 12:6; "Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.
Luke 12:7; "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Job 38:4; "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,
Job 38:5; Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it?
Job 38:6; "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone,
Job 38:7; When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Job 38:8; "Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;
Job 38:9; When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band,
Job 38:10; And I placed boundaries on it And set a bolt and doors,
Job 38:11; And I said, 'Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop'?
Job 38:12; "Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place,

I would post all of Psalm 78 here. But it's rather lengthy. ( 72 verses )
But God does punish disobedience.

God is all sovereign, do we not all agree on that??

Jim with the statement you made it sounds like you do not believe God is all sovereign, surely there is a miscommunication going on here?????

What exactly are you referring to?
:)
You have used "your own reasoning" to refute Heb 5:7
"Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;"
That scripture is self-explanatory.

Im really sorry if you feel im perstering you on this. But i cant help but feel you are not yourself.

I know you well enough to say, your faith is stedfast in Jesus.

Saying that, you have made statements that isnt you. The business of God not being in control. That is a crazy statement, and you know it.

So whether you think you need it or not. Im asking people here to say some prayers for you.

Peace Brother, bill
