Nope but I think that if a girl wants to wear makeup or something cute that we feel good in or even something revealing theres nothing wrong with that and its just all a part of being girl no need to make a fed case out of it ;)

Its not a federal case. This is a christian forum, espousing christian values. Wearing the kind of clothing you speak of with the purpose of attracting someone for the increase of sexual desire in them isnt a godly thing. That means you are wearing something with the intent of increasing the sin in others. Dont you want ppl to love you for who you are instead of how sexually attractive you might be?

Bikini Girl
Brad Huber is right. You are tryin to justifie your wordliness.

You are flaunting yourself and that's wrong

He must increase, but I must decrease
John 3:30

Not I but Christ liveth in me
Galatians 2:20

As long as a man has anything to boast of, there is no Christ for him; but the moment he has nothing of his own, Christ is his. Whilst thou art anything, Christ is nothing to thee; but when thou art nothing, Christ is everything.(Spurgeon)

This thread is indicating that for some makeup contributes to blatant wordliness, vanity and self pride
These behaviours cannot be supported by scripture as pleasing to the Lord

Keep thine eye simply on Him; let his death, His agonies, His groans, His sufferings, His merits, His glories, His intercession, be fresh upon thy mind; when thou wakest in the morning look for Him; when thou liest down at night look for Him. (Spurgeon)

What about clothing? Do we really need those...
Yves Saint Laurent jackets
Prada shoes
Pierre Cardin tops
Uggg Boots
Gucci jeans ??

Is $500 for a pair of jeans, $6000for a dress, $240 for a pair of boots a necessity?
Could you get things that would probably last longer for likely a much lower price?

Is this also vanity?

Good point BAC

One of the definitions of vanity is 'something that is vain, empty, or valueless'

So it could be asked

Is it spending time and money on things that matter?
Does it have any impact on eternal issues?
Does wearing makeup and designer clothes make us better Christians, more acceptable to the Lord?
Is it glorifying to the Lord?

And if not I would say it is vanity

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also
Matthew 6:21

When my daughter began to really bloom like most flowers do i insisted that she dress modestly for her own protection more than any thing ! I am pained to see that our society has be one so dependent on glamor and glitter ,bling and coach .Nd not upon that which rust will not destroy and moth won't eat ...a humble and hon arable walk before God z...now you're right on one point ther is a difference in make up and tattoos ,peirceings .two effects the body and soul on the out side .the other effects the heart and spirit and your self image .! It can change on a whim ..Once you know you're true self image in Christ a woman's true self beauty will show from the heart and not so much make up is needed and dressing honorable before The Lord is a natural desire to be pleasing and not trampish or over done to distraction..I always told my daughter watch the bait you hang out you might not like the fish you catch ..! She found that out once and when she changed her dress and makeup she got a Godly man that dearly loves her .i suggest prov 31 be the rule and not current fashion ..in love Rev

Starting to sound a lot like an Amish thread. LOL Maybe we should all wear the same modest apparel and ride in horse drawn carriages so no one could judge another's motives by their appearance. Religion is such an ugly tyrant.

And here I thought paying $24 for a hoddie was expensive.

Your suggestion is too lax, you never specified what color the carriages must be!

My carriage is crimson red...I should blush eh ...naturally that is! :embarasse

OK red will be allowed but absolutely no spinner hub caps!

Religion is such an ugly tyrant.

Not really when you consider the alternative.

Matt 18:8 "If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.
Matt 18:9 "If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into the fiery hell.

You speak as though religion has saved you from "eternal fire".
But many are beguiled by religion's appearance and "good works" and thus blinded to religion's true entity and in bondage to it.

No, I am not saved by my "religion", however the Bible says that some of the things we label as "religion" have value.

Jas 1:26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.
Jas 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

There is a difference between being saved and being a slave to sin.

Rom 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

I am not saved by my own righteousness, but as proof I am saved I should try not to sin.

1 John 2:3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
1 John 2:4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

1 Tim 5:20 Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.

The Bible talks about those who don't want to take reponsibility for their sins. Some even want to tempt us with their "freedom" and say sin doesn't apply any more.

2 Pet 2:17 These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved.
2 Pet 2:18 For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error,
2 Pet 2:19 promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.
2 Pet 2:20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.
2 Pet 2:21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.

2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
2 John 1:8 Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.
2 John 1:9 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
2 John 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;

Anyone who teaches there is no more sin is teaching heresy.

Matt 5:17 "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
Matt 5:18 "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Matt 5:19 "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Considering the etymology of the word religion and the Greek words used in the scripture passage you quoted, I'll stay with my last post. Religion is indeed a ruthless ugly tyrant and has blinded many to it's entity.

This vain attempt to defraud me of my freedom doth vex me Brother...you should blush also.. if you have no such custom forbidding men to do so that is.

To have no faith in the Bible would be a miserable existence indeed.

Isa 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.
1 Pet 1:25 BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER." And this is the word which was preached to you.

If you don't like the rules you can always go off and start your own religious denomination.:rtm:
