Can you explain the constant need for repentance to another flawed human, a legit commandment to call him "Father", as well as the commandments for confession and "penance" to that flawed human and any authority by that flawed human.
No Catholic only "books" please. No apocrypha and similar that aren't in the rest of the bible versions.

@TheLivingStone Like so many, I went solid answers.
I've found no commandment to call any earthly man "Father".
No commandment on how to make a rosary as well as it's use and the prayers associated with it.
No commandment on mandatory confession to another flawed human and where the "authority" comes to both "forgive sin and give penance" for them.
Catholic church calisthentics. (Sit. Stand. Kneel. Repeat variations.
I could go on but people tend to get "upset" when no one can give a solid answer. I know they have "extra books" that aren't inspired by God and they are obsessed with tradition.

I believe the answer is they are simply deceived.
The best thing we can probably do is just to be kind to catholics like anyone else and show love as we are commanded. Tell them the truth as I'm sure you already do.

I'm currently reading the apocrypha and honestly really enjoying it so far. I'm not sure if it's inspired or not yet, but it's in the 1611 KJV, how can this be explained?

It’s not a commandment, but rather a request….

James 5
“13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.[b] 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back,20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.”

But I do agree with the rest of what you say. I Grew up Catholic, and always felt uncomfortable in their church. So somber. And as I got older eventually walked away from it. There is a lot that was added. A heaven yoke placed upon its people.

But they Confess the Name, and can only be done by the Holy Spirit, so they are apart of this family nonetheless. And must be loved as such. For we all have something that we aren’t doing right. So to judge them so harshly(for those that do) only bring that harsh judgment upon themselves.

@Luminary Which one are you referring to?
I'm not going to get into how the church overall has so many problems. These are but a few and at best a Catholic has only given a weak, fragile answer. Nothing in scripture to back up those few and more.
Given what you've put it doesn't address those few questions. Vague, very broad statements do not answer questions. Surely, if something is commanded by God Himself or through the Apostles there would be such things as well as instructions.
Pretty sure the almighty God Creator, Judge, and Authority doesn't "request".
"If you love me you will keep my commandments."

I believe the answer is they are simply deceived.

The extra books don't add anything to the Word of God, but they are books from someone's own personal life experience that is not Holy Spirit inspired.

@TheLivingStone I've read the KJV many times and still see no commandments for:
Calling any flawed human male "Father".
Making and instructions of how to use a rosary.
No commandment to put Mary on Jesus' level simply b/c she was his mother and was better than most women.
Calling on and praying to saints as "All prayer and praise are to God only." and yet the do the contrary.
Hugging, caressing, massaging, stroking, etc. the various "relics" they have and how millions of Catholics do this on a constant basis.
Indulgences. Only found in "their" bible.
Expensive "priestly" clothing.
Churches must also be "expensive".
Constant reminder of Jesus' death by "literally" eating the body and drinking the blood of Christ.
Claim to have ownership and sole knowledge of "exorcisms". OoOOHH. Spooky.
The Pope and all that hierarchy. Pretty sure John was just fine with his camel hair brand clothing and vegan salad.
Keeping a pagan obelisk in the middle of a "supposed" holy site.
I could go on but this alone is nothing new.

We are to come out of her and all false denominations. They are all false and we shouldn't be in any. Jesus can be your Teacher and your Church. The way to make Jesus your Teacher and your Church is to get his teachings in the New Testament and do what he says to do. Then he will save you and make himself your Teacher. All denominations teach falseness and you even admit that. We should not belong to any of them. There are no more churches as there were in the Bible times. We have Jesus' words availbalbe to us. Obey his words and be saved.

I was raised Catholic it was my life, but they do wrong. They call their brothers in Christ 'father', and they even call their leader Pope, it means Holy Father, which is a name reserved for God the Father.

When one walks in the Catholic church to hear mass, they have to bow before sitting down, they are to bow to the statues and images at the "altar".

This is against God who says do not bow to the works of your hands.

They do these false things and many other things.

All denominations teach some falseness and some more than others.

We are to just get Jesus' teachings in the Bible and do what he says and his words are true that he will live in our heart and become our Teacher.

Dear @MedicBravo
I've heard what you are saying before as it pertains to the use of the word Father/father.

And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Matthew 23:9 KJV

Yet the word for our Heavenly Father, and Earthly father are in the above verse the same. The difference being the chaptalization of the first character making it a proper noun to signify our Heavenly Father verses the lower case signifying your earthly one. So, would you disagree with calling the progenitor of a people "father"?

I say, this because Jesus Himself used the lower case "father" many times, which I understand is really a Greek translation, but still the only difference those who translated the KJV made was to offer as I stated before the chaptalization Heavenly Father, or lack thereof as a way to signify the biological/progenitor connection.

As it pertains to the Catholic Church and its use of "father", I would/do have issue with because they fall into the category of "none of the above". I was confirmed Catholic as a teenager, and since grown to have issues with many of the practices one finds in Catholicism.

Thanks for the post.

I am not speaking for MedicBravo but for the scriptures.

It doesn't matter if you use a capital 'F'or small 'f'!

Jesus plainly says call no man father and that they are brothers.

We are NOT to call our brothers in Christ 'father' or 'Father' or 'Pope' or "pater' or 'Pater' or 'vater', etc.

Dear God's Truth,
You only addressed one part of what I posted, and so it makes your response incomplete.

@Christ4Ever
Every male with that title is always referred to as "Father" not "father" and that has never been corrected.
Given people's preference for "proper English" and yet butcher it to the point of incoherent air passing over vocal cords it funny.
We can go all day and night about the many things that all are doing wrong.
For the few examples, I've given and for anyone who wish to answer I see nothing specific in or commanding those things to be done.
Catholics if they are wrong in this shouldn't they be corrected? The God and Bible they follow is largely showing not to be The God and The Bible.

@God's Truth
Yes. All are wrong in multiple ways and have problems. Here the Catholics stand out for the many things they do and yet there's no commandments or instruction.
I've heard and read that an every growing number of Catholics believe that "pope" is an Anti-Pope" and they don't listen to him or the Vatican.
Catholic or not that should be HUGE in God's church.

Dear MedicBravo,
If you could hear the air passing over my vocal cords saying "Father/father". Wouldn't you need to hear the rest of what I'm saying or the context to understand its meaning or are you saying that the origin of the word and its significance is meant for God alone?

I have no problem explaining to a Catholic that instead of "Father" that "Priest", "Sheppard", "Minister", "Pastor" or what have you would be more appropriate then identifying "Clergy" with an endearment meant to address our God alone i.e., Father. For if this is the point to be made, then distinguishing between that and as I stated before the earthly father/ progenitor of a people is necessary. Otherwise, it appears that you are saying that the word "father" can only be used regardless of context, as a word for our God alone, and if that is the case you or others are trying to make. With all due respect, I must disagree.

I know the difference.
What I don't see for the 3rd time in all this is the God-given commandments and instructions given by God and/or the Bible. No one has given verses when asked these questions but some out-of-context ones that have very little to do with them.
Clergy isn't an official title but "clergy" is more definitive of a certain group.
I'm pointing out that if people of any denomination are doing something clearly unbiblical yet "claim" it is they need scripture to back it.

Dear MedicBravo,
Glad you know the difference, and I agree with the need to pointing out unbiblical practices, regardless of denomination.

I guess you can say we agree then! :)
