Anthropomorphic” understandings? The interpretation of parables?

It benefits the gospel as that which works in some of mankind . Its not a suggestion but is a loving commandment

Old testament as well as new (one testament made of two.) The law and the prophets. Or the law and its testimony. The two witnesses of God .

Many understandings came in parable which without Christ the Holy Spirit spoke not

For eyes have not seen, nor ears heard, or things entered the mind. It is the formula for faith the unseen eternal throughout the Bible . The temporal must be mixed with the eternal faith if we desire to enter his rest .

2 Corinthians 4: 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

If we have the same spirit of faith as the old testament saints then we have the same salvation . We look back to the glory of the cross by the same faith they looked ahead to the promise

2 Corinthians 4: 13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
The Bible is always right and will come to be in everyone’s life whether we believe it what it says or not. What it says has been done in everyone’s life. All and everyone’s life is a “Divine Decree” and “has” been done before creation ever existed. Humanity is nothing but a part of a “Creation” [oven] for only one purpose.
Yet to be fully revealed. On That “Coronation Day”.

I guess we can look at what honouring can mean.
If our parents truely know God and His Word, we can honour them and respect them and do likewise.

If however our parents do not follow God. We can honour them in a different way. To sieve out worldly advice and follow the Word of God.
To be ready to forgive if we were damaged by our parents.
To not remember bad things and treat them really well in their frailty.
To support them when they need us regardless of whether they treated us well or treated us badly.
To pray for them and that they will know God, if they don't.
That's more based on a large time scale.
Amen. That was well said.

So, are we saying “Honoring mother and fathers and old people which are [elders]. Is for the “benefit” of humanity?
Hello @PloughBoy,

Honouring Father and Mother, and obeying what they said, in the light of the directive which had been given to their forefathers in Deuteronomy 11:-

Therefore shall ye lay up these My words in your heart and in your soul,
and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
And ye shall teach them your children,
speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way,
when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children,
in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them,
as the days of heaven upon the earth.
For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you,
to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to cleave unto Him.'

..... would have been of great Divine benefit to the children of Israel, practically and in terms of the knowledge of God.

We, who are not of Israel, but have been saved by God's grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, would benefit by walking in the light of the ten commandments; for they would lighten our way, and make straight paths for our feet, enabling us to walk at peace with our neighbours, and in a way that is honouring to God.

Thank you

Yes so true,

Do you wonder about ; “Arron”, “Eli”, “Samuel”, “David”, “Solomon” and also The children of “Gideon” and There we also have the Resulting, Children of “Moses” is never mention. I wonder sometimes, during The Coronation conversation among these what will we say. What does our tears have in common. I have read their stores and had common of their tears and common.

“Final Destination” [ETERNITY] The GOAL means everything to me, I know personally of children cursing out their parents and beating them up, striking them! From the time, me being a child to this very day and have saw their out come!

And you can beat up your mother and your daddy and elderly people and proclaim God forgives and Love you! And you can go on through life and make it to heaven! I am not teaching it! The Church have been doing it in the Name of Love! Count me not in it! I am going to warn them with great loudly!

Parents asking me to talk to their children, and they wonder why my children respect elderlys and adults so! I bet you none of Mines is going Disrepeat you, or kill you in the night or robbed you in any kind away!

And you think my three boys have not approach me to my face! In their teens years! Thinking they are a man! Just because they can press 400 lbs.

I have never had to fight anyone of Them. But This Old man Put The Fear of GOD in them early!

! But along the way, the church and society I Observed, did not Rebukke Those Children! And “Warn” Them about “The Wrath” of The “GOD ALMIGHTY” pouring Down upon Them, upon their very soul, now and the life to come, how they are piling up wrath.

Hello @Lavenderfields,

You mention what honour can mean in this context (Matthew 15:4; Matthew 19:19): and having had the same thought, I began looking the word up in Scripture to see how the Holy Spirit applied the word, I found that there are ten Strong's numbers used for the word 'honour' in Hebrew of the O.T., and four in Greek (N.T.). So I thought I would look them up to see how they vary, and the context in which they come, in order to determine their variety of meaning:-

* In relation to Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16, the Strong's Concordance reference is,

H3513 - kâbêd - ( pronounced:- kaw-bad, kaw-bade ')
A primitive root; to be heavy, that is, -
in a bad sense (burdensome, severe, dull), or,
in a good sense (numerous, rich, honorable);
causatively to make weighty (in the same two senses)
Translated: - abounding with, more grievously afflict, boast, be chargeable, X be dim, glorify, be (make) glorious (things), glory, (very) great, be grievous, harden,
be (make) heavy, be heavier, lay heavily, (bring to, come to, do, get, be had in) honour (self), (be) honourable (man), lade, X more be laid, make self many, nobles, prevail, promote (to honour), be rich, be (go) sore, stop.
Usage:- 114

' Honour thy father and thy mother:
that thy days may be long upon the land
which the LORD thy God giveth thee.'
(Exo 20:12)

* In Ephesians 6:2-3, Paul refers to this, and says that it is the first commandment with promise, and it is broadened to 'the earth', and length of days.

' Honour thy father and mother;
(which is the first commandment with promise;)
That it may be well with thee,
and thou mayest live long on the earth.'
(Eph 6:2-3)

* So, in Exodus 20:12, it means to receive honour for oneself, by so doing, which you may say is obvious; but it is good to look these things up, because they do differ, and can alter the meaning of the verse in so doing, yes? :)

Thank you

Hello @God's Truth,

God defines a fool in quite a different way to man, doesn't He? He says in Psalm 14::-

'The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men,
to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy:
there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge?
who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
There were they in great fear:
for God is in the generation of the righteous.
Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is His refuge.
Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!
When the LORD bringeth back the captivity of His people,
Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.'

Proverbs 26

New International Version

26 Like snow in summer or rain in harvest,
honor is not fitting for a fool.
2 Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse does not come to rest.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
and a rod for the backs of fools!
4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
or you yourself will be just like him.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly,
or he will be wise in his own eyes.
6 Sending a message by the hands of a fool
is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking poison.
7 Like the useless legs of one who is lame
is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.
8 Like tying a stone in a sling
is the giving of honor to a fool.
9 Like a thornbush in a drunkard’s hand
is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.
10 Like an archer who wounds at random
is one who hires a fool or any passer-by.
11 As a dog returns to its vomit,
so fools repeat their folly.
12 Do you see a person wise in their own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for them.

13 A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road,
a fierce lion roaming the streets!”
14 As a door turns on its hinges,
so a sluggard turns on his bed.
15 A sluggard buries his hand in the dish;
he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
16 A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes
than seven people who answer discreetly.

17 Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears
is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own.

18 Like a maniac shooting
flaming arrows of death
19 is one who deceives their neighbor
and says, “I was only joking!”

20 Without wood a fire goes out;
without a gossip a quarrel dies down.
21 As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire,
so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife.
22 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down to the inmost parts.

23 Like a coating of silver dross on earthenware
are fervent lips with an evil heart.
24 Enemies disguise themselves with their lips,
but in their hearts they harbor deceit.
25 Though their speech is charming, do not believe them,
for seven abominations fill their hearts.
26 Their malice may be concealed by deception,
but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it;
if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.
28 A lying tongue hates those it hurts,
and a flattering mouth works ruin.

Hi @PloughBoy,

Reading your reference to 'The Way', and He Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life - the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6); my mind went to the words of Paul, in his defence before the Governor, regarding the Jews accusations (above):-

' But this I confess unto thee,
that after the way which they call heresy,
so worship I the God of my fathers,

.. believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

(Act 24:14-16)

Hello again, :)

To have a conscience void of offence is a wonderful thing, isn't it? How many of us have spent sleepless nights, tossing and turning because of something we have done or said that we regret, or are ashamed of. Yet the Lord Jesus Christ has taken our guilt upon Himself and died in our place, that the righteousness of God may be imputed to us, and we may be declared 'Not guilty!' He would have us be without care.

'But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar,
and His word is not in us.'
(1 John 1:7-10)

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
