Your skin has nothing to do with your soul.

1 Cor 6:19; Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
1 Cor 6:20; For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

1 Cor 3:16; Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Cor 3:17; If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

It seems your body has a lot to do with your soul.

2 Cor 5:10; For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Lev 19:28; ‘You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.

My take is that God has made us to look how we wants us to look.
Your skin may have freckles, your eyes may be brown or blue, you may be short or tall, your hair may be dark or blonde.
God made us perfectly. Not necessarily what we think is perfect, but what he thinks is perfect.
I am reminded of a painting of a sunset I saw once, I thought it was perfect until someone added an airplane to the picture.
Saying you can make yourself better than God can make you is saying quite a bit.
Maybe everything that needs to be there is already there in how you look.

Personally I have never seen a tattoo in my entire life (I have been around for a while) that I thought made anyone look better or more attractive.
However I have seen quite a few that made them less attractive. Maybe what really gives God the glory is letting him be the potter or the painter as the case may be.
Instead of us trying to do it "our way".

Tattoos are pretty pagan. I mean their origin is completely pagan as far as I know.

A tattoo in and of itself isn't going to affect the final destination of your soul though, whether you got it before or after you were born again.

That being said, I don't think it's a wise use of our freedom in Christ to mutilate our flesh; and I would be a little more reserved than normal fellowshipping with someone who was all tatt'd up than someone who wasn't, until I got the chance to know them a little better at least. It definitely affects my first impressions of a person.
