I dont agree to any of the symbolism. And this is why . More and more the Lors reveals to us the depth of Himself . The fulness of Jesus .I've been following these comments.
Brother-Paul is very correct. Symbolism.
Compare this to being baptized by immersion. It is symbolizes of that the person being baptized believes the Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again bodily. The person being baptized is not expected to physically die on a cross - be buried- and rise again just like Jesus Christ did. It IS symbolic of what we believe that Jesus Christ did on the cross - being buried and rising again the 3rd day. We are brought back up out of the water -- the grave -- to show the new spiritual life we now have In Christ.
Yes, it is clear.... you are assuming thats what its saying, because you have been taught so. You use the word "it" as if that explains it (not meant to be joking, although it was funny when I read it), and all that it explains is that it is the bread, it doesnt make any assumptions about the bread, simply that it is. How does that support your assumption?
I thought, Brad, Jesus said "do this in remembrance of me". When we eat and drink the bread and the wine, we remember the broken body and the shed blood and praise the Lord for what he did. I don't remember him saying "Do this, it is me". Blessings.I am not so sure brother. It "may" be symbolic, but many of His followers left him when He said the following. I dont say this as a catholic, for I am not a catholic. But when I share the eucharist, "I" ask that the Lord share with me His body and His blood. Why would the incident even be recorded if not for the importance of the ceremony. Many left Him because of it, let us not share in that turning away.
You are in my prayers brother God's love be yours alwaysBrothers and sisters in Christ, this is maybe not be right place to put this, but I saw the odd comment and had to reply. But for me I don't expect to be on here much today. As many know I am disabled, I use a power wheel hair but in the bungalow I hobble around. Last night I fell again, my leg just gave way, I went down between the bed and the wardrobe. Last time this happened we had to get ambulance and two guys to lift me, I am only 16 stone, but with Back and hip injuries, lifting has to be done carefully.
But with covid, hurting and frustrated, I refused to allow my wife to phone then, as if I could stop her, but she knew the reason so went along with it.
I slowly tried to shuffle be able to get on my stomach, having done so I used my hand to try put myself up and get on my knees, but my knees have gone and won't take my body weight. There was a cries of pain one after another, my wife trying to help though she has rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, I grab bed the mattress and just kept pulling till eventual I was on the bed.
It's been a rough night, I have had little sleep, I am in so much pain, but the good Lord will not let us suffer more than we can take, and will never suffer as much as what he did for me.
I'll be back, see how things go, I am used to pain 24/7 but this is extreme, nothing broken, my body yes, but I'll pull through, Jesus is Lord, greater is He who is within me.
Blessings to you all. In Jesus Name Amen

I know that there are two trains of thought on this subject , to me both hold validity. So long as everyone breaks the bread, as there is something special within the moment.I thought, Brad, Jesus said "do this in remembrance of me". Its a great place to place it , and good timing too . As seeing the Lords Hand to remind us . After the Resurrection, on the road to Ammaus ( spelling might be wrong ) . Jesus joined some of His Apostles , they did not recognize Him . He spoke the Word ( the Scriptures, to them. And even though it was like a fire burning in them , they still did not recognize Him. But when He said the Blessing , and Broke the Bread , it was then that they Recognized Him.
I was just looking at the various post resurrection events -- where do you find about the road to Amaus and Him saying those things -- blessing, and breakeing he bread.
Sorry to hear that Paul, I pray the Lords strength upon both you and your wife. And speedy recovery.Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is maybe not be right place to put this, but I saw the odd comment and had to reply. But for me I don't expect to be on here much today. God will honour any true heart Bill and if we have got it wrong, it won't be long before he puts us right.I know that there are two trains of thought on this subject , to me both hold validity. So long as everyone breaks the bread, as there is something special within the moment.

So glad your back brother paulMany thanks to all for your heart felt comments and prayers.
I am never without pain, but when something silly happens I get to a level where firstly it is unbearable, secondly it screws your mind up, you cannot get comfortable, every move is agony. Once it affects my thinking I back off everything, it is so hard, I am not yet back to the coping level but I am thinking clearer again. So beware LOL.
I have missed you guys, prayed for you daily, but most of all I thank you for your prayers, I felt them, isn't that wonderful.
There are some great guys on here (and gals), you are a lovely bunch of brothers and sisters.
May the good Lord Bless you all, in abundance even to overflowing.
