SignUp Now!And how do they do that?
How is that ridiculous? You said that sin is that which displeased God. I was simply asking if He would be displeased if the Messiah hadn't kept the commandments? You're sounding ridiculous.
How is it a ridiculous question? You must have some reason for saying that.Unless you are a new unlearned Christian,or lost seeking guidance, that is a ridiculous question
Okay. The Messiah was here on earth for those 33 yrs. He was 100% divine and 100 % human. He was here as a sinless person t o die on the cross as the perfect Lamb of God .How is that ridiculous? You said that sin is that which displeased God. I was simply asking if He would be displeased if the Messiah hadn't kept the commandments?
So. since He was 100% human, the commandments applied to Him. And since John wrote that not keeping the commandments was sin, the 100% human Messiah needed to keep them in order to remain sinless. He was 100% divine and 100 % human.
And That had Nothing to do with the 10 commandments. The commandments were given By Him for all human beings.
Of course, and I don't see where any of your sharing's provided an explanation for the contradiction in your previous post.Have you read Anything I've already shared?!
Yshua came down to earth as a human to bear the cross for our sins and died. He then rose again so that we may have eternal life. God sent His Son so that we may rest in knowing that we can have eternal rest with Him...@ lentz the Sabbath is a day of the week. Look at Exodus 20 : 8 - 11.
And going back to book of Genesis 2 : 1- 3.
Lots of churches worship on Sunday because that's when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. The Lords Day.
One either believes the Word or they do not..man can't teach you the Word He is Spirit n only the Spirit can reveal.. as it is written flesh gives birth to flesh Spirit births spirit.. ya do know that ya cam go right to Abba himself and ask Him as many questions as you would like n He will neva push u away from Him.. YH speaks to His children all's one has to do is spend time with Him n build a relationship with Him put Him first in all things n in all your ways n all else will b added.. all's one needs is the faith of a mustard seed..So. since He was 100% human, the commandments applied to Him. And since John wrote that not keeping the commandments was sin, the 100% human Messiah needed to keep them in order to remain sinless.
Do you know what ot means to be diety?!
Why did you quote my comment and then write about some totally unrelated issue?
Sad fact is so many are working for their wants instead of working to enter YHs rest..Well Jesus christ created the Sabbath day of rest for Us. HE didn't need the rest but We do. WE need rhe break from a week od working. And it's Not a matter of keeping the 10 commandments to ensure our salvation.
I'm not aware of any scripture which says that. What do you have in mind?In the New Testament the Sabbath worship was changed to Sunday / the Lord's day to honor the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
So why did you write "In the New Testament the Sabbath worship was changed to Sunday"?@ rstrats-- there is no specific Scripture that states that.
I'm not aware where scripture says that. What do you have in mind? And somewhere in scripture -- New Testament there is evidence of people bringing their tithes and offerings to the temple on Sunday.
Why didn't Jesus keep the Sabbath?
Matt 12:1; At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples became hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat.
Matt 12:2; But when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath."
Matt 12:5; "Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and are innocent?
Matt 12:8; "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
Matt 12:10; And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned Jesus, asking, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"—so that they might accuse Him.
Matt 12:11; And He said to them, "What man is there among you who has a sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out?
Matt 12:12; "How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."
Mark 2:23; And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain.
Mark 2:24; The Pharisees were saying to Him, "Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?"
Mark 2:25; And He *said to them, "Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry;
Mark 2:26; how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?"
Mark 2:27; Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
Mark 2:28; "So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
Luke 6:2; But some of the Pharisees said, "Why do you do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?"
Luke 6:3; And Jesus answering them said, "Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,
Luke 6:4; how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?"
Luke 6:5; And He was saying to them, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
... "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. " - what do you think this means. The Sabbath as a rest of rest was made for our benefit if we needed to rest. It isn't a requirement that you "must" rest.
Mark 3:2; They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
Mark 3:3; He *said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!"
Mark 3:4; And He *said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent.
Mark 3:5; After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
Mark 3:6; The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.
Jesus wasn't angry in many verses. But He was angry here, why? What day of the week was it?
Luke 6:6; On another Sabbath He entered the synagogue and was teaching; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
Luke 6:7; The scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him.
Luke 6:8; But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!" And he got up and came forward.
Luke 6:9; And Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?"
Luke 6:10; After looking around at them all, He said to him, "Stretch out your hand!" And he did so; and his hand was restored.
Luke 6:11; But they themselves were filled with rage, and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.
.. yet "another" Sabbath, Jesus is doing work.
Luke 13:10; And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.
Luke 13:11; And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all.
Luke 13:12; When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your sickness."
Luke 13:13; And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God.
Luke 13:14; But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, "There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
Luke 13:15; But the Lord answered him and said, "You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him?
Luke 13:16; "And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?"
Luke 13:17; As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.
At least a third time, Jesus heals on the Sabbath.
1. Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath.
2. Jesus tells a lame man to pick up his pallet and walk on the Sabbath.
3. Jesus heals a woman with a bent back on the Sabbath.
John 5:5; A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
John 5:6; When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He *said to him, "Do you wish to get well?"
John 5:7; The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
John 5:8; Jesus *said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk."
John 5:9; Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk. Now it was the Sabbath on that day.
John 5:10; So the Jews were saying to the man who was cured, "It is the Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you to carry your pallet."
John 5:11; But he answered them, "He who made me well was the one who said to me, 'Pick up your pallet and walk.'"
John 5:12; They asked him, "Who is the man who said to you, 'Pick up your pallet and walk'?"
John 5:13; But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while there was a crowd in that place.
John 5:14; Afterward Jesus *found him in the temple and said to him, "Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you."
John 5:15; The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
John 5:16; For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.
John 5:17; But He answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working."
It says here, that Jesus "knew" this man had been in this condition for 38 years. Surely one more day wouldn't have mattered. Jesus passed by here many times.
Why did Jesus heal him on the Sabbath? Jesus was making a statement here.
Paul told the Colossians ( Gentiles )
Col 2:16; Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—
If we are no longer supposed to judge people because they don't observe the Sabbath, why does this thread even exist?
If the Sabbath days was made for man, and man wasn't made for the Sabbath, why is it considered a requirement?
If Jesus healed 3 times on te Sabbath and picked grain also on the Sabbath, and it wasn't a sin for Him or the disciples, why would it be a sin for us?
It's the only commandment not repeated in the New Testament anywhere.
